Charming dog-friendly cottage one block from the beach & close to downtown!
From its wood-shingled exterior to the hardwood floors and great location only a block from the beach, this cute and cozy one bedroom Cannon Beach vacation rental is sure to charm you. Just a couple of blocks south of the bustling downtown area, you'll be close enough to walk to all the shops and galleries, but still be tucked away in a quiet end of town.
The bright and open interior will be a comforting spot to return to after a day exploring Cannon Beach. Settle back on the plush red sofa for some TV watching - there's a wall-mounted flat screen TV with cable and a Blu-ray DVD player here, as well as WiFi. You may even want to pop some popcorn to go with your movie night. For a quieter evening, borrow a book from the shelves and spend the night reading.
A full kitchen will allow you to stay in for meals if you'd like (although, Cannon Beach boasts a number of excellent restaurants). You'll have all the major appliances here, minus a dishwasher, plus extras like a toaster, blender, and a coffee grinder. Pick up some halibut or salmon at Ecola Seafoods and come back to your beach cottage for a home-cooked seafood dinner. And when you're ready to eat, you'll find a wooden dining table easily set for up to four.
Out front, there's a patio as well. Perfect for a morning cup of coffee or fire up the charcoal grill and have a cookout before hitting the beach to watch the sunset while the dishes soak.
In the cozy bedroom, you'll find a snuggly queen bed, perfect for sleeping in mornings before heading down to The Sleepy Monk for a latte and a freshly-baked rosemary bagel. And in the bathroom, you'll have a tub/shower combo. This Oregon Coast vacation rental will comfortably sleep up to three guests (the sofa acts as a twin-sized bed), including your furry, four-legged friends (60 pounds or less) - they are welcome with an additional nightly fee.
There's a public laundry room at the Cannon Beach RV Resort about two miles away.
When you are ready to head out and explore, just across Hemlock Street, is a short path right down to the sandy shoreline. Go on a beach run with the dog, take an early morning walk to Haystack Rock, or just fly a kite. This stretch of beach offers miles of sand to enjoy! You can even rent a funcycle and explore the sand on two wheels.
The downtown area is great for art lovers, foodies, and anyone who likes browsing unique shops. Pick up a bottle of wine at the Picnic Basket for that evenings dinner or a bottle of artisan gin at the Cannon Beach Distillery for cocktails on the patio. Find a beach read at the Cannon Beach Book Company, take a cooking class at EVOO Cooking School, or just spend the day browsing galleries. There's also hiking in Ecola State Park to the north and Hug Point State Park to the south.
However you spend your time at this one-of-a-kind beach town, this Cannon Beach vacation cottage offers all the comforts of home in a cute, well-organized space.

The cottage was perfect for 2 people and everything we needed! It was clean and cozy!
This is my second time at Beaches Inn— clean, quiet, convenient and a great place to stay with pups. Highly recommend!
Great location, exactly half way between the two commercial areas of Cannon Beach. Though located on the main street, this unit is behind another unit on the street so it is quiet. And when the fog lifted we could sit on our patio and see the ocean that is a block or so away.
The cons were that the room wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been prior to our arrival (we found dirty socks from prior guest(s) in two different areas of the unit). The bathroom could use a couple more hooks or another rack for clothes, etc. The bathroom sink was running slow. And coming from a four bedroom house it took us about a week to adjust to about 300 square feet.
All in all a good visit to one of our favorite places.
I ended a serious relationship late January and decided I needed a trip away from the daily norm. So I planned my trip almost 4 months in advance and I saw pictures of the property and how close it was to the beach and I thought to myself 'Yes! I need this place.'
I loved, loved my stay at my little suite 9. I slept well every night, had hot water everyday and was able to walk/take the city bus where ever I wanted to go. I am definitely going to stay again. Suite 9 and Cannon Beach is what my heart and mind needed.
This is a great little cottage to stay in for a couple. It has everything you need for a weekend getaway, is quiet and pleasant, walking distance to the beach, and with easy/responsive management.
It's small but cozy with a comfortable sofa and bed. The sofa could be a bed for an additional person, but frankly it would be pretty tight for an adult -- I wouldn't recommend except for a kid. The kitchen is very, very well equipped, with baking and cooking equipment and plenty of plates and dishes. TV has cable and DVD player, and wifi is available. Housekeeping left multiple days worth of towels and toiletries for us, along with tea, coffee, and new sponges and clean dishtowels for the sink. Especially in the winter, things can be damp and slow to dry at Cannon Beach, but we found the heaters in the house were super powerful and kept us warm and dry throughout the weekend. Overall, would recommend! Great little cottage.
Great location but you can probably find a more comfortable place
The cottage is small and feels a little cave-like but it was very clean and well appointed (except that there was no hair dryer). We had everything we needed for making meals and the appliances were very nice. The small porch and yard was great for the dog and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening even though there is no view of the ocean. If you intend on using the twin sofa bed in the main room be aware that it is not a hide-a-bed, you are sleeping directly on the sofa so you either have to unmake and remake it every night or sit on the bedding during the day. The location is very close to the beach and it is an easy walk into the town. I wouldn't stay here again because of the price. This was a last minute rental but with a little time and research you could easily find a larger house for less money.
Captains Cove has been a place of respite for me two separate times. I retreated there for a month, two years ago and found my balance in life again. Though tiny, there is a welcoming presence and it is an inviting space. The lack of big windows doesn't take away from a feeling of light, and encourages one to take long walks on the beach, or enjoy the sites, smells and tastes of town. If you leave the front door and walk down Jefferson to the ocean, be sure to look up. On a pole just to the entrance of the beach is a painted sign that says, "Breathe." That is the invitation to Cannon Beach and this tiny cottage.
The Captain's Cottage was perfect for two of us, and Vacasa kitted it out exceptionally well--a several-day supply of towels (useful when things don't dry because of humidity), soap for the kitchen, the bath sink *and * the shower, a wonderfully-equipped kitchen, and extra blankets and pillows.
The only thing I'd say--if you're there any time but high summer, bring slippers, as the floors were surprisingly cold!
It is a little small, but if you're in Cannon Beach you won't likely be in it for much more than an evening... there's a lot to do! We didn't take advantage of the charcoal grill out front, but if the weather's good, do--there's a terrific seafood place (Ecola Seafoods) in town to buy really fresh fish.
We were really happy with the Captain's Cottage, and would come back there specifically, and would *definitely* stay in a Vacasa property again.
Great location: 3-5 short blocks from center of town, 2 blocks from beach. Small cottage - good for a couple.
Although the cottage is on the small size, for as much as we were there it was great. The proximity to the beach , walking into town and even south of town, makes the location superior. Good kitchen amenities are provided-there is a microwave and toaster too plus a full size refrigerator.
The cabin was clean and well-appointed. There was even a basket of treats and supplies (pet towels, dishes, biscuits) for my dog upon arrival. It was so lovely to find a truly affordable place to stay that was so welcoming to my dog. And to be able to see the ocean from our doorstep meant we could go for multiple walks daily on the beach. Great stay!
If your ok with small and cozy this place is for you. One nice thing is you do not have another guest directly attached. Very quite. At night open the windows and sleep to the sound of the ocean in the distance.
Stayed here for 10 days in the summer with 2 adults and 1 five-year old. Perfect size for the three of us, but three adults would be cramped for that long (a weekend would probably be fine). Bed was comfortable. Place was relatively clean. AWESOME location: easy to walk to everywhere you need. Can see the ocean from the patio! It was nice to have all the basic amenities provided in sufficient amounts to last our trip. We would stay here again!
Not bad if you don't mind small. Nice location, nice place.
This cottage is in a great location - easy access to shopping and beach. The front entrance allowed for outside entertainment, people watching, and ocean views. Very dog friendly and quiet from other rental units and neighborhood.
Great location and had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway. Only one block from the beach and a quick walk to downtown where you can find many dining options. The place was clean and met our expectations, I would definitely stay here again. (only negative was that there was not a hairdryer provided so bring your own if you are like me and need one)
Great location! Surroundings terrific. Hair in tub, toilet needed plunging constantly, porch light out, sheets not changed, something sticky was seeping from bedroom window. Would not return. Too bad!!! Cute and lace but needs to be maintained much better!!
We appreciate you taking the time to leave your review with us. We apologize that the home was not properly cleaned for your stay and that nobody got back to you concerning that problem. Housekeeping management has been informed so they can investigate the situation. We are glad to see that you found the house itself to be cute!
Though small, cabin 9 was just wonderful. The location is great - less than a 5 min walk downtown and a block from the beach. Super close to Haysyack rock. Quiet and comfy. We loved every minute of our stay. I can only recommend a broom and dustpan be kept in the unit. With two pups, we sweep often and we purchased one in town.
The check in was so easy and the reservations staff was welcoming and friendly.
Thank you much for a wonderful weekend!!!
It's the little things that I appreciate the most. The place was very clean and the kitchen was complete. I liked how the TV swivels to any angle you could possibly be watching from. I like the board games that we played one night. I like How they provided you with toiletries, also with dishwashing soap. I've been to places that don't... I like how it's an easy walk to the beach. I like how they have a decent parking spot. I like how they have a well kept deck for bbq. I brought my dog with me and I'm sure he loved the treats and all the extra touches that made it genuinely dog friendly. There were 2 beach towels, 2 bowls for food and water, and a blanket. The petiquette was very well said.
A few suggestions to leave behind... Hangers for our coats and clothing could be handy. The heater in the bedroom was working but could use some upgrading. It does not warm the bedroom well enough compared to the living room. Perhaps portable heater would do the job. A few of the plates were chipped, and an extra mug for coffee will be great. (There were 3 of us).
No major issues. We did love our stay there, and we will sure to recommend this place. :)
