Gorgeous ocean views, shared pools/tennis & disability access - 2 dogs OK!

Guests of all ages, interests, and abilities will be in awe of this Sea Ranch retreat, a gorgeous, dog-friendly home with glorious ocean views, a private deck, a handicap-accessible interior (the elevator door opening is 27 inches wide from the edge of the compartment and the cage door, accommodating small chairs) and shared use of the community's wonderful swimming pools, tennis courts, and saunas.

Perched on an open meadow hillside that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, this three-level home offers one of the most majestic views in Sea Ranch. You'll be only one mile south (across California Highway 1) of Stengel Beach and the heated pool, tennis courts, and saunas at the Ohlson Recreation Center; one mile north of Pebble Beach; and seven miles south of Gualala's shops and restaurants.

A perfect escape for multi-generational families, this home is even outfitted to accommodate guests with disabilities or limited mobility. There is an elevator that connects the garage and the second floor, where you'll find a handicap-accessible kitchen, master bedroom, and full bathroom with sink and shower handrails.

Step inside to admire an open and light-filled living space with soft carpeting, contemporary furnishings, and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the ocean view. Curl up on the sofa with a good book or a board game, settle in by the window to watch for whale spouts on the horizon, and warm your toes by the cozy gas fireplace with a beautiful stone facade.

Pick up a few groceries at the Surf Market in Gualala and begin each morning by preparing breakfast in the full kitchen. Grind your own coffee beans, blend a few homemade smoothies, and flip pancakes on the gas range as your sous chefs slice fruit at the bar counter. The adjacent open dining room offers seating for six.

Stack the plates in the dishwasher and head outside to read the newspaper on the ocean-facing deck. Let your dogs stretch their legs in one of the two garden areas, and log onto the WiFi to check the tides before heading to the beach (please be advised that a two-dog limit applies).

Hop in the car for a quick drive to Stengel Beach, where you can wander the adjoining Bluff Trail and watch harbor seals play in the waves. Practice your serve or take an afternoon dip at the Ohlson Recreation Center, and return home to light the gas grill for an al fresco meal and an unforgettable sunset on the deck.

Back inside, the whole family can gather around the fireplace for a night of entertainment on the wall-mounted Smart TV. Scroll through the Netflix offerings, play a few rounds of charades, or move upstairs to the third-floor sitting area to watch a DVD from the film library before heading off to sleep.

With three bedrooms, a loft, and three full bathrooms, this Sea Ranch home will sleep as many as six guests. The master suite on the main floor features a queen-size bed and a private bathroom with a stand-up shower. On the lower level, you'll find one bedroom with a queen-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub. Upon the third floor, there is a third bedroom with a pair of twin beds and an open sitting area with a sleeper sofa.

Whether you're in search of romance, relaxation, or quality time with your family, you'll find it all on the stunning shores of Sea Ranch. Go for long hikes along the ocean bluffs, search out the seasonal waterfall at Stengel Beach, and tee off with a view of the ocean at the Sea Ranch Golf Links five miles north.

Head 56 miles north to count the sea stacks on the drive to Mendocino, or stop halfway to watch a spectacular sunset at the Point Arena Lighthouse. You'll find fascinating tide pools at Shell Beach less than three miles north, and an incredible spot for whale-watching at Gualala Point Regional Park four miles further.

You'll fall in love with Sea Ranch the moment you arrive - don't miss out on this gorgeous Sonoma County home!

The view, the weather, the elevator (for my wheelchair-using travel mate).

I love the cushy tub...the downstairs bath is like a spa!!

View! Comfort! Spa bath! Ocean!

For what this house might have lacked, it made up for it with an incredible view!

Beautiful house with gorgeous views, nicely furnished, a pleasure to stay in.

The house is well laid out, everyone has privacy if they want it or all be together taking in the amazing panoramic view! Lovely deck outside where you can sit and have a beautiful lunch, great kitchen. You watch deer and turkeys walk by and the ocean is always in view! We loved it

I love Sea Ranch and the views in this house enhanced the experience. It was quiet and serene. The 3 bedrooms were on each of the 3 levels of the house so lots of privacy.

Can see in 3 directions. Nice amenities -- elevator, garage. Excellent location with regard to main hiking trail.
A little short on the wine glasses. Steep walk and stairs (3 levels) may not be appropriate for some.

Can’t wait to return!

Views are wonderful from every room! Super comfy home. Great to see sheep and rams. Quail and other wildlife. We'll be back!

This house was more peaceful than I anticipated. Its perfect for the furry friends. I enjoyed being up on the hill more than I thought I would have, and the view is gorgeous.
Trudy A. Oct 2018
The view was fabulous.......also appreciated the elevator which was a wonderful surprise since one of the residents was somewhat incapacitated and we worried about all those steps!
Also, the accommodations were quite comfortable!

Good house for my kids and grandkids while we live nearby in our own home Vacasa gave good service

This is a lovely setting with a full ocean view. The home is very comfortable, with large rooms (except the kitchen, but who wants to cook on vacation). The Vavasa people were very friendly and helpful. It feels very private, but not remote. It is very foggy here, however, you are often sitting above the fog. Our first few days we saw a whale, deer, wild turkeys, lambs, dogs and many birds and a few hawks. It’s within 10 minutes to Gualala for restaurants and groceries. We would definitely stay again.

We had a few issues with the house maintenance. The jacuzzi tub didn’t work, there were no outdoor lights working (they fixed this quickly) there were only 5 dining room chairs, not the six shown, 3 of 4 kitchen ceiling lights did not work, there was no garage door opener. There is no light in the dining room because there is no overhead fixture and the wall plugs do not work. The fireplace remote was very difficult to use.

If you know the area, this home is on the east side of HWY 1.

These are mostly small things that can easily be repaired. None the less, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Incomparable views!.........period.

The VIEW!!! And the elevator is great for the mobility impaired. Comfortable home that was clean and quiet, we will be back.

We had all the information we needed from our welcome packet and the house was beautiful as advertised. Thank you!
Linda D. Apr 2018
I stayed in this lovely home for two weeks. I chose the east/hillside reluctantly, but the dog friendly choices along the bluff sounded "tired". This house was a delightful surprise. It is roomy and newer than most, and the furnishings also are newer and free of the kitschy clutter common in many rentals. But my praise mostly is for the view! You earn it, with 19 steps to the front door, and a relatively steep driveway, but once you're in, there is an elevator from the garage level to the main level, which I used as a dumb waiter. And the view is mesmerizing!
The appliances are older but functioned fine. The kitchen had the basics I needed to entertain local friends. Mostly we used the gas grill and the corkscrew. 😁
The neighborhood is lovely, the morning walks took us into the deep ferns and redwood forest. It was a short shuttle down to the bluff trail. All really superlative. What a place!
I also want to add praise for Vacasa. Reservations, communications and check-in were effortless. I had two issues - one, an appliance matter that was quickly serviced. The second was a logistics issue of my own, for which they had absolutely no obligation to accommodate, yet they chose to. That's positive customer service that sticks in the mind. Nice job. I will choose this house again. My greyhounds loved it, too.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay! So relaxing and a gorgeous view! The only downside, the beds were rock hard. Other than that it was an amazing time!
Hillary C. Mar 2018
The home is beautiful with fabulous veiws but it stops there. The kitchen has very sparse provisions if you are planning on cooking or eating. Nothing but very basic cooking utensils, like two knives nd a spoon. No dish towels, no diner napkins, one large bowl I guess for mixing or salads. 70% of the cubbards and drawers were empty! We were provided with one small sponge, one roll of paper towels and a tiny container of dish soap, along with 3 dishwasher pods. The bedrooms actually were well supplied with bedding but the three bathrooms on the main were expected to make do with two bath towels, two hand towels and two wash cloths. This could have been overcome however the overly generous housekeeping staff only provided two empty large laundry detergent bottles, 5 pods and 6 individual dryer sheets. We have stayed at Sea Ranch for 30 years and always had wonderful houses. This was our first and last through Vacasa. Never going back! 5 nights for $1600. Total waste....

The house is on the hill, view of the ocean from living, dining rooms. Spacious, clean. Short hike to the beach
Quiet surroundings. Beautiful views.
Linda G. Jan 2018
We found this house to be wonderful for a weekend get-together. The view of the ocean was fantastic from the picture windows in the living room. The fireplace and central heating kept us warm and there was plenty of room--large living room/dining room area; big kitchen; three bathrooms. Everything was clean and in working order, except for a few light bulbs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

First time we have stayed in a Hillside home (we are veteran Sea Ranch renters). The view is fantastic and spent many hours just sitting in a chair admiring it. Great for dogs. Not so good if you don't like climbing stairs or using a home elevator (yes it has one which is useful to get things to the rooms). Would happily stay again

Great property in a great location
Camille F. Dec 2017
My family and myself went to Sea Ranch for a nice, relaxing, Thanksgiving and it DID NOT disappoint!! The home and the views were BEAUTIFUL. Would definitely stay here again!! As well as, recommend to friends and family.

We booked this home due to the description of the ocean view and the accessibility for ADA. Having mobility issues, stairs are not always my friend. The elevator was a huge help, although the tightness of the entry and exit points may make it harder for people in wheelchairs and scooters. All in all, if you can live on the main floor (second level) you will be in heaven. Kitchen was great to work in. I prepared all meals for the 4 days we were there. Baked cookies (bring your own trays if a particular baker) and brought my crock pot for easier prep. Lots of counter space. Gas stove top with electric oven. Plenty of pantry space and empty cupboards to store groceries. You don't always find this much space in rentals. The dining area sat us all and we had great meals together and lots of games. Could use some better light in the evening, but we survived. The view of the ocean was spectacular. We were impressed by the sparkling clean windows, also hard to find in some rentals. The windows could be opened on the bottom to let in the fresh air, were screened to keep out bugs and did not distract from the views. Don't forget the binoculars as there were a few whale spouts, otters and ships to look at. The flock of sheep that grazed on the side hillside were a TREAT to watch as well. Our little 5 lb Yorkie loved the home as we did and enjoyed the sheep! All in all a very relaxing few days. Just what we needed and expected. Would definitely stay here again, and again, and again!! Thank you for sharing this fabulous home with us.

Relax and be mesmerized by the expansive coastal views...incredible! I didn’t want to leave.
Nicholas D. Nov 2017
While the house is beautiful and well maintained, the accessibility features are uneven. I am disabled and get around in a mobility chair. I was unable to get into the elevator or even the hallway with the elevator due to the sharp angle and narrow entrance to the very small elevator compartment. Additionally, the elevator only goes to one of the floors (there are 3 total), so only the main floor was accessible to me even if I could get into the elevator. I have limited ability to walk, so I managed to get in the elevator and up to the main floor for one night but unfortunately we had to go find other accomodations for the rest of our vacation-- which we did, and it went fine. I will say the Vacasa staff, particularly Jody was wonderful and compassionate about making it right as best she could. If you are in a very small wheelchair or are otherwise only partially disabled, you may be able to make this work, but unfortunately it didn't work out for us.
Manager response:
We are so very sorry for this guest's experience and that he had to leave due to the accessibility! He was extremely kind throughout. The home is lovely; however, we have learned the hard way that the elevator will not work for all chairs. We measured the opening of the elevator compartment and the clearance between the door edge and the cage door is 27 inches. We will have this added to the home description. The elevator does only go to the middle level which has the kitchen, dining area, living room and master bed and bath. There is also an additional bathroom on this level for other guests. We are happy to hear our guest was able to find accommodations that worked and was able to enjoy the remainder of his vacation.

Our party of six spanned three generations. Everyone gave high marks to Cloud Nine and Sea Ranch. The house is well designed and furnished. The three bedrooms are each on a different level providing maximum privacy and allowing early risers to not disturb late sleepers. The common areas are spacious and enable room for group activities or separate spaces. The tally was 6-0 in favor of staying here again.
Christopher J. Oct 2017
Very nice comfortable home.
Kathleen D. Oct 2017
The panoramic ocean views make this home wonderful. Very spacious and comfortable. Great spacing on all the bedrooms.
Rebecca B. Sep 2017
Sea Ranch is one of our favorite getaways and we try to visit at least twice a year. This was our first time staying on the east side of hwy 1 but it wont be the last! the forever views in this home are amazing, it was awesome to whale watch and be able to track the whales over a longer distance. and the sunsets...swoon!!! again, big views! This house was comfortable and could easily sleep a large family or two smaller families. And I always appreciate when we can bring our doggie on vacation with us. We will definitely be back! thank you!
Alyson W. Aug 2017
My family dives, so the indoor dive shower was really nice foe them to exit through the back of the house and clean off their gear with a real shower and hot water.
Guillermina B. Aug 2017
The house was perfect for three couples, though one had to go to a different floor for their bathroom. The views are spectacular and the quiet was serene. This house would not suit a wheelchair bound person as there are 3 floors and the elevator only goes down from the main floor.
I have mentioned the limitations of the kitchen above.
Ellen H. Jul 2017
This gone was magical. The views were so amazing. The house accommodated our needs nicely. Vacasa was great to work with.
Shelly L. Jul 2017
This place is special for all of its accommodations. While a "wheely" can't be entirely independent due to lock box location and the height of bed, these are small fixes that can be planned for. The elevator and roll in shower were awesome. The layout was spacious and comfortably decorated. The view was magnificent. Our dog was at ease in the house and appreciated being able to look out the windows too. Can't wait to come back!
Ramnik S. Jul 2017
this house is perfectly fine for meditation . Retreat for mind and soul. looking to ocean waves your mind feel peaceful and it's way to enlightenment . Perfect house for family reunion. we enjoy staying at the house .and in future we will come back.
thanks VACASA,WHAT OTHER PLACE YOU HAVE HOUSES ,so we can rent every summer.
Leslie W. Jun 2017
It was wonderful watching the ocean from house!
Jennifer M. Jun 2017
Walking into the home, the VIEW was instantly awe inspiring. The main floor has full walls of windows so all living areas enjoy the ocean. The main floor and upstairs bedrooms enjoy yard and hill views, which during our stay included grazing deer and wild turkeys. The elevator was perfect for my Mother who has limited mobility and my senior dog that would struggle with so many stairs. The bedrooms being one on each level was perfect for allowing everyone their own space. This would be a great house for multigenerational or 2-3 couples to stay in. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a nice table outside for dining with an ocean view. The neighborhood was exceptionally quiet and the neighbors we met were friendly. Sea Ranch has great trails (walking, biking, or on horseback) and included amenities. The location was central between Bodega Bay and Fort Brag. I will definitely return☺.
