We rented this property for a 50th birthday party. The living room has incredible views of a wildlife refuge that is between the house and the beach. There was plenty of space for cooking in the kitchen and the open layout was great for socializing while preparing and eating meals, playing board games or just relaxing.
The downstairs would be a great area to keep the kids out of the way but we had plenty of space for 10 adults upstairs, gathered around the 2 large kitchen tables.
The walk down to the beach is a great way to stretch your legs. Bring tennis shoes, though, as the trail is a little steep for sandals or flip flops.

Our family uses Vacation rental houses a lot! The house was very spacious and comfortable. Views from every room. Better than I’d expected. The natural surfaces on the stairs were “slick” but only because we are used to having a runner of carpet in stairs. The beds were very good as were the sheets. Each bathroom was fully stocked with towels and extra sets of towels. Each bathroom had extra rolls of TP. The kitchen was fully stocked and clearly labeled. The ice maker in the fridge had been disabled with an “ice flow” but there were a couple of ice trays and we bought a bag of ice in Neskowin. Large clean fridge PLUS a second in the laundry room! I was not able to figure out the AV system but I have had that issue at other rentals so we brought our laptop and plugged it in via an already existing cable (which we returned to its original position of course). The HOA rules seem pretty strict on water but our group has rentaled in the neighborhood for years and never had an issue with over-use fines. We are pretty water conscious people at home too. The pool table provided much entertainment but if you have your own Sticks you should bring them (and chalk) as the existing had no pads...but that became it’s own extreme challenge especially for the good players in the family. We enjoyed the walkable beach access. You do need a sturdy shoe for the trail when it’s damp—no clogs or flip flops. We had a great time just sitting in the main room with the windows cracked open to hear the waves crash; watch Bald Eagles snack on a seal carcas; see Harbor Seals bobbing around; I love sand or I’d say there was no need to go anywhere to have an A+ day. Thank you for sharing your home!

House size and view is nice.

This home was perfect for our family gathering of 10 adults. We loved the fact that all bedrooms had their own bathrooms. The layout which highlighted the ocean view was exceptional and easily accommodated everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and laid out well. Having bedroom on all three floors allowed peace and quiet for everyone. Heating is through the floors and fortunately we did not have to use this on our perfect 75 degree stay. The property manager was easily accessible and with one call she helped us with a brand new grill in which we used twice. The home is over 20 years old, but in my opinion is in great shape. I would give the condition of the home a 9.5. The trail down to the ocean takes about 5-10 minutes and has one 100 yard stretch that has a moderate grade. We were literally the only ones on the beach for our stay. The hot tub was great for viewing stars late at night. I would recommend this place and property manager without hesitation.

This beautiful and large home gives you a fantastic base for viewing the ocean and enjoying your favorite beach pastime: reading, hot-tubbing, hiking, puzzling, cooking special meals....you name it. The house was great, albeit there were a few deficits which could easily be remedied by owner. We had babies, little children & adults of various ages - all enjoyed.

Wonderful, spacious, well appointed home overlooking a private Oregon Coastal beach. Couldn't be better.
Vicki H. Sep 2018
We had a group of 8. There was plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. There are two really nice gathering areas, a nice kitchen and a gorgeous view. The walk down to the beach can be a little challenging especially if you are stair challenged. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay !😁

Great place! Our group of nine loved the size of the home. Everyone had their own bathroom with their bedroom, the views were fabulous, there were multiple decks and it had a wonderful open main floor plan with a great kitchen area. We had lots of fun; thanks for the memories!

This is our fifth time at this lovely oceanfront home. The views are amazing. The sound of the waves are so peaceful. The cool ocean breeze feels so refreshing. The home is great. Huge common area with nice kitchen. Brand new double ovens and oversized sub-zero refrigerator. The bedrooms are large and have their own bathrooms.
The beach is a short walk away on a very secluded section of the beach.
Amazing!!!!
Karen T. Aug 2018
The home was a great place for an annual family four day weekend with plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed the views immensely and the time it created for wonderful memories.
Virginia I. Aug 2018
The house is beautiful, spacious can sleep 16. We were 8 adults and three children. There was plenty of room and sleeping space. The view is spectacular and the pathway to the beach is well maintained. The path is longer than revealed and the house is farther from the beach than the pictures reveal but it was all good.
There were a few issues about the house that were troubling. The tile and wood floors were very dirty as indicated by our black feet. The BBQ grill was small, old and hadn't been cleaned in months. We had a grill fire and then realized the amount of charred grease was the problem and it was dangerous. We cleaned the grill but management did respond to our complaints. The kitchen was good but more silverware and sharper knives would have been helpful.
We all had a fabulous time and the beach both out in front of the house and in town was glorious.

The first night in there was a big storm which may have caused a leak in the roof over the front room, which caused a maintenance man to come out and spend a couple hours looking over the property to find the leak and make assessment. It wasn't as big of an issue with me as I was busy but my daughter weren't happy about it. Overall the house is awesome, it does need some tlc due to a few things which I will note below for the management / owner. The pics of this house show its beauty. Note that it's a long hike down a steep and risk posted trail to the ocean but absolutely a wonderful place.
The wife and daughter didn't like some of the house features like the lights that omit from the audio control panel in the master bedroom. (If they can be dimmed there should be a note on that switch)
There are a few things that need updated on the check in sheet, like which wifi to use, but I figured that out fairly quick. There are no outside lites, which it asks you to not leave them on after 10pm but they are either burned out or turned off. Main floor tv remote is missing a back on the battery, which can cause it not to work. The garage door could really use an remote opener to make access easy once you've arrived, especially in the heavy wind and rain season we just experienced. The washer always has extra water in it after a cycle, guess that just needs checked into. One bathroom on the main floor outside the master bedroom has a toilet that runs for 10-20 minutes trying to fill up the tank, probably needs a new part but we didn't use that one since it seemed to never stop wasting water. We came into the house and it was really hot inside, and cold outside. Since it has hot water heating through the floors it took a while to cool off. There are thermostats in many rooms, so getting them dialed in can be key to finding a nice temp. I believe we found everything was set to 73, I dropped that down to 68 on many of the heater controls and the next day it was better. Except the upstairs bedroom never really cooled off and even down to a low temp was still warm, which I loved opening the windows to hear the ocean, but the winds were such that you couldn't leave them open long for risk of damage to the windows. Lots of games and activities in this pace that would easily be a great place to have the entire family come stay at. Lots of wildlife, Nest of Bald Eagles and babys flying right in front of the windows all the time. Coyote looking for food running through the yard, and 7 or more deer roaming around. Humming birds roaming the flowered trees and if we would have had nicer weather this would have been even better. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Overall this place is really awesome, just needs a few adjustments and that leak which needs repaired so you don't get asked to relocate or deal with repair inspections...
Blake P. Apr 2018
we have stayed at the Gorman house for years, probably 5 or more, my family loves the residence. The location and views are spectacular and second to none, the beach is amazing and quiet, a nice hike down and back.
John N. Feb 2018
My family of seven adults really enjoyed the place for three magical days.
Amelia H. Feb 2018
We had our company off-site/retreat at the property. It fit all of our needs: a bed for each participant, large kitchen, large meeting areas, large tables, great views, overall, a great place for our creative minds to plan for the 2018 year!

The property needs a bit of updating, but fulfill the basic needs. Some of the overhead lighting had bulbs burnt out that need to be replaced. Some of the appliances (Dishwasher and Clothes Washer) may need to be serviced. They were not working properly. Update some of the furniture and the property manual. These few things would joosh the property and make it closer to a four star stay.
Manager response:
The light bulbs have been replaced, and the property manual has been updated. We greatly appreciate having that brought to our attention. Thank you!
Mark T. Jan 2018
House was as advertised, clean and comfortable beds. Views are spectacular! Well-stocked kitchen and almost everything worked. Renter beware - fees abound if rental rules and HOA covenants aren't adhered to.
Jessica R. Jan 2018
The house, view and location are just beautiful. It is a very large rental and has tons of space. It was very comfortable for our party of 10 and we could have fit more easily.

However, we would not rent this house again due to the problems with the condition of the property -- backed up sinks and toilets, dishwasher never cleaned the dishes (always greasy), no cleaning supplies available (not even dishwasher detergent), a full stinky garbage can upon arrival. For the price, this was unacceptable. We were warned of water use and told there would be huge fines if we went over but we never could find instructions on how to monitor this. The outside lights didn't work, etc. The home really needs some maintenance for the price they are charging. The furniture is adequate but a bit bare bones (for example, no side tables or lamps in some of the rooms, no dressers (but big closets). The couches are very uncomfortable but they are big and roomy. The pool table was simply not usable and EVERY pool stick was broken. The felt was torn along edges and showed bare wood - why have a table you can't even use? We didn't find the kitchen fan until the last day (located behind and inside the stove) - some instructions would have been helpful.

On the plus side there are three very nice big dining tables and plenty of seating. The beds are comfortable and on the firmer side. The views are fabulous (the viewing scope didn't work well so bring binoculars). The hike to the beach is a bit steep and long but we didn't mind since it provided nice solitude and access. Not good for elderly or super young. Our 4 year olds did great with it.

This house could be lovely with some proper care and stocking.
Thank you.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see there are some items that would stop this guest from returning. The property manager has overseen the clearing of the sinks and toilets, the dishwasher has been confirmed as working properly. additional side tables and lighting have been added, exterior lighting has been installed, broken pool sticks have been replaced, and instructions for the stove fan have been posted. There is not a way to monitor water usage; we ask that guests ensure water is not left running and to please report any leaks or running toilets they might encounter. Thank you!

We celebrated Thanksgiving and our 33rd year wedding anniversary in this gorgeous house with our family. The views from every single room are absolutely AMAZING!!! Lots of games, books, and puzzles available for those who like that sort of thing. There are 3 large dining tables so one could easily be designated as the puzzle table and still have plenty of room for everyone at meal time at the other two. There is a trail right in front of the house that leads down to the beach. It is a little steep and slippery for someone who is a little older, but with help is totally doable. Some in our group didn't think they could make the hike so we walked south on the beach about 4 1/2 miles to the town of Neskowin and the rest of the group picked us up there. Once you are at the house you will NEVER want to leave.
Jl F. Nov 2017
Our family enjoyed this space for our Thanksgiving holiday; it had everything we needed including a well-stocked kitchen.

Having said this, we would not stay here again only because we did not like many things about the Vacasa experience: booking issues, charging us full payment up-front (not as outlined in agreement) follow up on issues raised by other renters (later addressed with the local rep) and the ridiculous "extra" fee assessed by HomeAway. If you don't mind the extra fees go for it.
Jan C. Nov 2017
We enjoyed the time we spent here. The ocean views were great! Surroundings were very quiet and we enjoyed seeing the elk and deer in the area. Will definitely be back.
Mary P. Nov 2017
Great house and view. Wonderful for a large family or group. The niebhorhood association rules are restrictive, review before booking.
Jeffalee H. Oct 2017
Our book group of six women rented the Gorman Beach House for its annual retreat (our 11th and the first time we’ve been disappointed in our rental choice). Don’t misunderstand ... the house could be magnificent and the view is absolutely breathtaking, but unfortunately, the house is in a state of disrepair and ill-equipped, particularly considering the rental rate. Vacasa, however, is a terrific rental agency. We would not hesitate to rent through Vacasa again. Vacasa employees and, in particular, Lonnie, were very responsive. The owners, however, need to address the deficiencies. Some of the bedrooms had no end tables and no lamps. The main floor bedroom lamp was broken and the faucet in the shower did not work properly. The shades in the bedrooms fortunate enough to have shades were broken .. nearly impossible to raise or lower. One window on the main floor was cracked. A window in one of the downstairs bedrooms was broken, had no screen, and, once opened, had to be shut from outside the house. Minimal furniture ... no comfy chairs in any of the bedrooms or anywhere in the house, for that matter. The sink in the bathroom (kids’ room downstairs) was plugged and did not drain properly. The ice machine did not work. The top tray of the dishwasher falls out. The garbage cans were full (and stinky). The kitchen was inadequately supplied ... not enough dishes, utensils or pots/pans. The rental regulations are numerous and a bit draconian, but there are absolutely no instructions for the heat, fireplaces, audio system, stove, etc., which simply doesn’t make sense. If the owners would repair/replace as necessary, we would consider renting again next year ... but not if the house remains as is.
Manager response:
The property manager has reached out to the owner about updating blinds, lamps, and kitchen supplies. The sink and showers have been repaired. The window that is cracked has finally been replaced, and instructions for heat are provided in the home. We are actively working on getting parts for the inoperable windows. Thank you

This trip was a really big deal. It was my mom's 80th birthday complete with family flying in from all parts of the US to surprise her and stay for a couple nights. I had been a little concerned because of previous reviews but after a few phone calls to Vacasa they came through like rock stars! The house was not only spotless but they had left a beautiful flower arrangement and card for my mom. WOW! What an amazing touch. The house itself is more impressive than the pictures show. The living room has an open area with floor to ceiling windows that is awe inspiring. The bedrooms all have views and bathrooms (only one needs to use the full bath on the main floor). There are walk in showers with stone that I adored and my parents loved the claw foot tub to soak in with skylights above. The kitchen is open to the living and dining room with views of the ocean. There is a heard of Elk that visit the area which were so fun to watch and we saw a bear with her cub!
Here are a few things that will help those thinking of renting this house:
1. They mention the water usage. This is truly no concern. As long as you don't leave a shower or sink running and leave, all will be well.
2. The path to the beach is beautiful and they have put a lot of work into it recently. The lower part has a chain railing you can hold on to and is the stepper part. There are leaves on the ground so it may be hard for some but my mom (80), who is in great shape, was able to get up and down with no problems.
3. There is no air conditioning in the house so the living and dining room can get warm. one might consider bringing a fan to move the air. Lots of doors and windows to open but not a lot of air movement. No ceiling fans.
4. The kitchen......if you like to cook bring your own knives and pans! At one time there was probably a lot of wine glasses but no longer, so they are all different sizes. Some of the plates are chipped but enough for a big group. The dishwasher runs a long time and the top rack kept falling to the side and the bottom rack can just come right on out onto the floor if you're not careful. Soon it's probably time for a new one. The Stove is OK and I figured out that if you turn the electric burner to the right it's the smaller portion of the burner and to the left will give you the wider circumference.
5. Because the house sits between Neskowin and Pacific City the beach is empty.
This is a fabulous house I don't think I'll ever want to stay anywhere else!

Coffee Party Board Directors from all over the USA met for our annual in-person meeting in Neskowin OR. We reviewed our past year and planned our upcoming year - all while looking out from our huge windows over the inspiring ocean scene. There was a bedroom for each of us and we slept deeply, breathing the fresh, cool air. We took turns cooking in the large well stocked kitchen and the handy propane grill on the patio. During breaks, we trekked down the (steep!) path to the beach or rested on one of the several decks. The Gorman House gave us the perfect location for our retreat. Thank you!

We enjoyed the many thoughtful and quality features of this home. The main rooms have an OCEAN VIEW! EVERY bedroom has an
OCEAN VIEW!!!
Vicki R. Aug 2017
We loved it and had a great time with our adult children and spouses. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks!
Geoffrey F. Aug 2017
it's a big house in a nice location.
Devon P. Jul 2017
We loved the location & view. Having three floors worked very well for us: top for parents; main floor bedroom for son, wife & 3 year old; lower level for daughter, husband & 3 kids. Not easy access to beach. House is getting in disrepair with broken window, holes in screens, pealing paint, moss on roof, gutters & glass of balconies. Reading other reviews, I was prepared for the condition.
Manager response:
The landscaping and outside have been cleaned up and the broken window is scheduled to be replaced. Thank you!
Jesse C. Jul 2017
Beautiful house, very good lay out and amenities!
Nanette A. Jul 2017
This home was like a mini castle for us. It was more than enough room for two families. I'm already trying to plan my vacation here next year!
Nicholas R. May 2017
So hard to leave this place. Love it. Will be back definitely.
Beige N. May 2017
I give this place an A+
Beds were amazingly comfortable, house was wonderfully laid out and views were epic. The trail to the beach was a little sketchy though, especially for my older guests- however there is easy beach access two miles down the road.
Loved The Gorman house and hope to spend more time here in the future.
Kate M. Apr 2017
The owner doesn't seem to really care about this house which is too bad since it's a million dollar property. If you like to sleep in forget about that. Without blinds the rooms are very bright at 5am. Furniture is just randomly pieced together and not the best quality.
For a large group it had all the bathrooms/bedrooms we needed . Wish there was a large patio for an outdoor dining table.
Manager response:
The guests did call us with some issues regarding the home during their stay that we have addressed. We will advise the owner of the comments regarding the blinds and furnishings. Thank you!
Stephen C. Mar 2017
See above.
Jesse B. Mar 2017
Our group of ten enjoyed our stay here.

It's a lovely and interesting house inside; the master suite's bath with a view was very nice indeed. Floor heat is so nice! The lack of any window covering was a little odd, but as we faced west, it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Some of the HOA-related rules felt draconian in description, but we found that neither the water usage nor parking actually impinged on our actual usage nearly as much as they concerned us in advance of being there.

We had an excellent dinner at the nearby Cafe on Hawk Creek, Neskowin's store had a nice selection and good coffee, and we were close enough to run into Lincoln City for other supplies and take a nice day trip to Tillamook to visit the cheese factory.

There wasn't a handy way to play our own DVDs or hook up music via phones; if this is important to you, bring all the cables and devices you'll need! We were able to run a laptop into the TV, so that covers a lot of ground.
Jerry B. Jan 2017
Review would not be positive at this time.
Holly M. Jan 2017
Love the space and views, need a good safe trail to the beach and railings on steps and stairs.
Chellanne N. Dec 2016
We had fun lots of room for everyone. There were many things that did not work properly.
Thomas M. Dec 2016
Spent 5 nights over Thanksgiving. A number of issues. 1) MICE running around the kitchen! 2) Lower over door spring shot so door does not shut...real bummer when one planned on using it per pictures provided. 3) Stove fan not operable. Was finally able to get it to come up but fan was so heavily coated with grease, it only started to run before burning up the GFI circuit it was tied to killing most of the kitchen outlets. 4) None of the windows open properly. Crank handles stripped. If you do open, very hard to close and they flop in in the wind. We had a big bedroom window blow out...clearly related to this issue (we had not opened the window). 5) Sink in a bathroom did not drain. 6) heat lamp in master bath dead 7) Pool table is nice but sticks had no tips ($3.99 for a set of 4 at Sears). 8) Tried to do a load of laundry--no initial soap supplied and when we started it, could hear drive gears grinding...we turned it off. 9) Pull out cutting boards were ALL dirty...food debris on them...Yuck! Could be lovely place with a little care but the absentee owner (who owns several other homes nearby) clearly is milking the home for all it is worth. For the price we paid, we expected a lot more. We will not come back until we are assured it is fixed up.
Manager response:
Update as of 6/2: The mice issue has been resolved. A new oven was ordered this week and should be replaced in the next few days. Original manager response: We’re happy to see that you chose to spend your Thanksgiving holiday at our home! Our local operations manager was able to visit the home after your stay and resolve your concerns. I will follow the same listed format to explain the resolutions. An exterminator has been scheduled to visit the home and inspect for concerns of mice. Be sure to check back for an update on when this is completed. The oven is scheduled to be replaced. Be sure to check back for an update on when this is completed. The stove fan has been fixed, and is in good working condition. Windows have been repaired. Sink is now draining properly. Our property manager will have to follow up on the heat lamp, as they are still looking into this concern. New pool sticks have replaced the previous broken ones. After an inspection, the washing machine is in good working condition. A deep clean on the entire home has been done, including kitchen utensils.
Barbara P. Nov 2016
Enjoy spectacular ocean views. Lots of space - very comfortable with wonderful light. The large kitchen is fun for cooking together with family or friends.
Cliff J. Oct 2016
We had a rainy weekend but we still had a lot of fun with family and friends. The Gorman House is in a beautiful location surrounded by wildlife - we saw a herd of elk and a baby fawn right outside the house. The hot tub was a nice spot to warm up after the walks on the beach.
Beverly B. Sep 2016
The Gorman House has the most spectacular view from everywhere in the house. Achitecturally interesting. The three dining tables were an advantage in that we used one for dining, one for puzzles and one for games. I would suggest not to bring games or books because there are plenty there. The path to the beach was steep as we were informed but our 80 yr old family member made it down and back with no problems. The beach is a very good walking beach .
We were disappointed that there was not a low tide so that the Ghost Forest was visible. Next time.
Cindy W. Sep 2016
We had an amazing unforgettable weekend at this property. We played many games on the beach and had big campfires. We felt the path to the beach was an adventure and added to the charm of the property. We played some serious basketball and had a fantastic time !
Eric B. Sep 2016
The views from this home are incredible. It overlooks a relatively secluded stretch of beach, and would be perfect for whale watching or similar. It was a great location for running. We did a four mile loop up to the beach to the North, and a five mile loop down the beach to the South (to Proposal Rock).
Adam G. Sep 2016
The views from this place are amazing, the cleanliness on the other hand was awful.

- The floors where covered in grit, dirt and uncleaned up spills. Your feet will quickly be black on the bottom and covered in grit.
- Towels smelled dirty when using them and some of them had makeup visible dirt on them.
- There was sand in the beds.
- All of the kitchen utensils and plate, mugs etc had food, dried drinks grease and lipstick that needed to be cleaned before using.
- The hot tub water was mirky.
- There were boob prints on the windows in the living room.
- The grill had all dirty utensils.
- There was a mountain of garbage in the garage and garbage in some of the garbage cans inside as well.
- For some reason Vacasa charges you $250 nonrefundable cleaning fee
- The telescope is broken.
- The stereo does not have an AUX in or any way of listening to music its only for use with the TV.
- The TV downstairs can't be turned off
- There was broken paper blinds in the downstairs bedroom
- There was a band-aid stuck to the wall

You get the idea. Considering how much this place costs ($1,050 for 2 nights) and the fact that they charge so much just to have it cleaned ($250) the overall condition of this place was really disappointing. Also, after looking through other reviews of this place, Vacasa management responds to complaints saying that they have resolved various issues but we found everything they claimed to fix to be unresolved. Overall this is a great house in an awesome location that is being mismanaged and neglected. We have rented a lot of other places on the coast and our suggestion is to keep looking.
Manager response:
We are very disappointed to read about how this guest's visit went. We will follow-up with housekeeping regarding proper cleaning, and the Property Manager will look into the maintenance issues. Thank you.
Dori L. Aug 2016
Although the views could not be beat, for the price, this home was a big disappointment!
From the non-working and broken items, including many of the windows, to the stench of the garage due to piles of garbage and recycling being left. Also, if you plan to make meals during your stay, plan to bring necessary kitchen tools, the kitchen is poorly stocked. We didn't even have items that you would think are basic, I.e. Wine opener, rubber spatula, etc.
Manager response:
We are very sorry to see that there were disappointments with this stay. The garbage was promptly removed from the home, and most of the kitchen utensils have been replaced. All minor maintenance issues reported will be addressed at the end of the busy summer season.
Hakim J. Aug 2016
In so many ways, the Gorman house is the perfect large, ocean front vacation rental home. You can't beat the location if you're looking for world-class ocean views. Open the door of the deck and listen to the sounds of waves crashing on the beach. The trail down to the beach is a moderate walk, but definitely easy enough for the young children (4 and 7 years old) to make the walk wihtout complaint. The size of the house is perfect for entertaining a large group, but also spacious enough to allow people to have their own space. The issues we encountered are definitely fixable, but worth mentioning. The house was not as clean as you would like for a vacation rental. We had to sweep pet fur, dust bunnies, and other dirt off the floors the first night we arrived. Additionally, some of the bathroom towels did not smell clean. The house has speakers and appears to be wired for sound, but we could only work audio through the television, so could not plug in our smartphones to have background music while making dinner. Again, these are all fixable issues that I hope other renters don't encounter. It's too nice of a house/location to not be rented.
Manager response:
We apologize that cleanliness was an issue for this stay; had we been notified we would have sent housekeeping out to rectify the matter. After receiving this review the Property Manager oversaw a deep clean at the home.
Emily S. Jun 2016
The location and view was phenomenal!
Donna A. Jun 2016
Our group enjoyed the house - we were able to spread out and relax. The views of the ocean are fantastic, with the added bonus of various birds flying about the house.
Mitchka M. May 2016
This home and surrounding community is stunning! Will be back for sure.
Melinda K. May 2016
This house was perfect for our party of 8. With 3 levels, there is plenty of room for everyone to have their "own space". Big kitchen, open common area with unobstructed views. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, this house is just what the doctor ordered for rest and relaxation. The trail to the beach is well maintained, however the last bit of the trail is steep and could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. The beach is wide and we rarely saw any other people. Great beach for kite flying and beachcombing.

We found the house comfortable with plenty of bedroom for private sleeping and showering. The home has a few maintenance issues that need to be taken care of but we (a group of scrapbookers) enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time enjoying the view while we scrapbooked.

Six of us long time friends have gathered at this home three years now because of the ambiance, the beautiful views and the fact we enjoy each having our own space for sleeping, etc. It is so very quiet and peaceful, set above the ocean with views in all directions, that it is totally unlike most locations on the shore. This location, set in a development of upscale single family homes is totally devoid of that touristy aspect that you find in some other parts of the Oregon Coast. The proximity to the beach might not be for everyone as it is a hike down, but it was perfect for us. It is our plan to return next Spring.

Great place, if the agents will be more helpful when we stayed there. It will be greater!

We recently stayed at the Gorman Beach house for a 40th birthday celebration. The location is perfect and the house is situated nicely for amazing ocean views. The house is beautiful and was very clean but is beginning to show its age and the fact that it is a rental. A few amenities did not work (telescope, 2nd oven, and many plates, bowls, and glasses were missing from the labeled shelves). However, it did not spoil our stay at all. There were 8 of us (5 adults, 3 kids) and we all had space to spread out and be quiet or all get together to play pool and watch a movie. We experienced some pretty severe weather but the house felt warm and cozy with the in floor heating system. Great storm watching experience! A few suggestions: there is an indoor basketball court but you need to have the cars out of the garage to use it so the 1 car in the driveway rule causes a problem. We asked for permission to have both our cars out for a few hours to allow for some game play and we were permitted. Great customer service by Vacasa. Other houses in the neighborhood had multiple cars out during our stay so perhaps the association could considered changing the car limits from 1 to 2. 1 car seems excessively strict. The downstairs bedrooms had temporary paper shades installed that really limited the occupant's view of the ocean so replacing those with permanent blinds would probably be appreciated by future guests and finally, having a few hair dryers in the bathrooms would be a nice amenity to be added. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely considering renting again. Great experience!

We had a great stay with 4 couples and 2 kids. It was rainy however the view of the ocean made it wonderful, and we got some breaks in the weather to go to the beach in Neskowin to play! The neighborhood is really nice, probably the most rules I have ever had at a rental home however it was not a problem for our crew. The house has lots of space and that was really nice.
There were a few updates that needed to be done and the rental company is aware. For this luxurious of a house it puts expectations high!
Be aware if you have a toddler there are large marble steps leading to the staircases and this cannot be blocked off, so you need to watch them carefully! Thank you we had a great time!

Make sure you bring all your cooking condiments. There is nothing but salt and pepper. Everything else was wonderful. 3 couples and we all had our own floor.

We went for a short walk in the neighborhood during the day and saw 3 deer just feet from the house. I could sit and watch the ocean for hours. The view from the house is awesome. A wonderful place to just relax and spend time with family.

We were a large group of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers that over 47 years have not seen each other much and this house was so perfect and Vacasa equally so.

Everything about the property was perfect. Great place for a large family get together.

A beautiful home with an outstanding view of the Pacific Ocean from every room. We were not disappointed in any way and fully enjoyed our time there.

From what I can gather, this place is in a quiet community of old people. The view was awesome, the place was nice and the beach was great and we hardly saw anybody there. House has everything you need. THAT SAID- the listing leads you to believe it is much closer to the beach than it is. There is a LONG overgrown trail down to the beach, with roots and stumps to trip over, a tree to hit your head on, and cliffs to fall off of. It also warns of bears.

The rules about water usage, AND parking only 1 car in the driveway are excessive for vacation house that sleeps 12+, and there are HUGE fines that might be associated for breaking these rules! There are also quiet hours of 10pm - 10am.

It was a good trip, and the house was nice, but I would look for another property with easier beach access, and less crazy rules, first.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see that this home was not a good fit for your group. Four cars are allowed on the property, but only one can be parked outside of the garage overnight (per neighborhood association rules); the beach path does go through a wildlife sanctuary and is a beautiful walk; there are water usage limits that we warn guests of, but it has not been an issue for any. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful view and made use of the hot tub. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!

We enjoyed a long weekend at this fantastic property to celebrate my grandmothers 100th birthday. The location and property were perfect for a family reunion. The property was clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back again - thank you

The same six women visited this property last year and made up our mind that it is our go to accommodation for our annual get together. The quietness of the area and the view are wonderful...very relaxing. We also enjoy having our own private spaces with bathrooms. We plan on returning next year.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We love hearing from repeat guests and are delighted that you ladies are planning to make this beautiful home your destination for your annual get-together! It certainly is in a lovely area and does have a nice layout which provides some privacy as well as plenty of space for everyone to enjoy quality time together. Thank you for staying with us again and we are looking forward to having you return!

Our girls retreat, nine total guests, was a huge success partly because of this gorgeous location. There was room for dancing, eating, cooking, and comfort in sleeping. This would be an ideal location for a couples retreat with 4 couples.

some neglect noticed but enjoyed our stay a lot there is so much space

This is an amazing home with plenty of room for everyone to spread out, yet be together. The quality of the home is excellent. Well built, quiet between rooms and floors, floor heating is very cozy! Best in fall and winter when no leaves on the trees for the view.

This was our second stay at the Gorman Beach House. The house has outstanding views of the ocean. A trail behind the home leads down to an almost private beach. The trail is steep but navigable by our 3 year old. Just be careful -- we saw a black bear on one descent. After hearing from neighbors that the bear was roaming the neighborhood with her cub, we decided to drive to the more public beach access point in Neskowin. There still was only a handful of people on the beach. There is excellent wild life viewing in the neighborhood as we saw a gray owl and many deer on our nightly walks throughout the neighborhood with our dogs. The house is a great break from everyday technology but it would be nice if it had an updated entertainment system. Bring your own iDevice docking system for music. Overall, a great experience. We will be back.

We had an awesome stay at Gorman home. Clean, roomy, great views! The last guests left full garbage cans, no problem. We called the customer service number and had same day pick up. The kitchen was fantastic, with the open layout, we could all visit and enjoy each other's company while meals were prepared. People were able to find privacy with all the nooks and cranny's with great views. We would highly recommend this property and with any luck we will be back! Thank you and kind regards!
Manager response:
Thanks for your review. We're sorry you found some trash in the cans but are very pleased that our local staff came right out and took care of that for you. Thanks for your compliments about the home. The views are amazing and it's nice and spacious - perfect for entertaining with a group of friends or family.

There are six of us gals, lifelong friends, who annually spend 3 nights together at the Oregon coast. We feel very lucky to have found the Gorman House for our gathering this year. This was our 7th year of making this trip and our favorite home by far. The isolation from the hubbub of Lincoln City was nice and very relaxing, the proximity to the beach and the views was wonderful. We were blessed with perfect weather which added to our gathering. What we enjoyed the most was that each of us had our own space and the way the house is designed, it affords privacy and separation. Having our own private bathroom was a real plus. Some of us early birds struggle not to disturb the others that enjoy sleeping in. The house is so solid that you can move about, up and downstairs, with nary a squeak of the stairs. The kitchen is away from all the sleeping rooms, so arising early and making coffee can be done without being disruptive. The sofas are very comfortable as are the bar stools. The kitchen is large and allowed for several of us at a time to be in it fixing meals. Would suggest a few more comfortable cushions for the dining chairs for those of us that like to sit around the table and visit. It is our plan to return again next spring.
This home is very accommodating and luxurious and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

I spent the weekend with 10 friends at the Gorman house and we absolutely LOVED it! Such a beautiful house, gorgeous views from practically every room in the house, and all of the amenities you could hope for for a fun weekend. The pool table, hot tub, decks and games were wonderful additions to an already amazing house!

We loved our stay at Neskowin at the Gorman house. The views were breathtaking! The house was very clean, had a great layout and was very comfortable for a relaxing weekend at the beach. The house was well stocked and the staff at Vacasa was very helpful and prompt at returning calls. I will definitely stay again, hopefully soon!

This oceanview property would be perfect place to celebrate thanksgiving or other winter holidays at the beach with a large group. Very spacious with lots of room to spread out and beds and bathrooms for all. There are 6! bedrooms (not 5 as listed): 5 doubles, one with a twin bed + a kids room with 5 twins. Plus a full basketball court in the garage and another area to shoot hoops in the driveway. You will have the beach to yourself if you make the effort to get there - The walk down is a bit of a hiking adventure and the walk back up is a workout for even the most fit folks (ours was a group of cyclists who rode out to the house from Portland). While the views are spectacualr, in summer, the mainfloor of the house is dark with no deck for entertaining with ocean views if that is something you are looking for. also to note: Wifi and cell reception is spotty at best.

This house is AMAZING!!! The walk to the beach is gorgeous, and the beach is even better. We had the best time, and would definitely rent from Vacasa again.

the place is excellent, views spectacular, and the beach access was fun as was the beach itself.

My sister and her family (all adults now) flew in from France, my family flew in from Colorado and we all met at the Gorman Beach House in Neskowin. Just a few of us stayed the first night (forgot to turn off one of the outside lights - don't do that or you will get a neighbor complaint!), then the remaining family members joined us the next night. With 6 bedrooms and 7.5 baths, there was plenty of room for 7 adults and a couple teenagers. Had a ball and lucked out with unbelievably good weather (73 and sunny one day). Only complaint is theater system (sound in particular) not easy to figure out and the instructions didn't seem to work, but didn't really care given that we didn't really watch TV and the great house / location. First time in Neskowin too - loved the remote feel and nobody on the beach, yet only 18 minutes or so to Lincoln City. The beach is a bit of a walk from the house (maybe 1/4 mile) along a great trail through the woods/brush - slightly steep in places, so not easy or recommended for certain elderly. Gotta go back...
Manager response:
Thank you for your review! We will improve the TV setup to make it easier to use. We appreciate your business and we look forward to having you back again!

Beautiful house beautiful view. Be aware though, the beach access is a hike on a nature trail, not a short easy path.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review! We are glad your enjoyed your stay and appreciate the feedback on the beach trail. It is a beautiful trail but it is definitely not for people with disabilities and it can be tough for small children as well. Thanks again and we look forward to having you back!
