When you stay at this charming cottage, you'll be just four blocks from the beach and the popular Promenade, a smooth concrete boardwalk that runs parallel to the shoreline all the way to downtown Seaside and beyond. The Seaside Golf Course is just across the street, and the starting point of the Tillamook Head Trail is less than two miles away.

The interior of this quaint cottage is homey and welcoming. In the living room, comfy couches and armchairs invite you to kick back and relax while you recover from your travels. Browse the cable channels on the flatscreen TV, or use the wireless internet to share pictures of your vacation rental with friends and family back home.

Whether you're here for a week or just a weekend, you'll appreciate the well-appointed kitchen. With all of the standard appliances in addition to convenient extras such as a mixer and a slow cooker, it's easy to put together a home-cooked meal or a picnic lunch. There's even a dishwasher for quick cleanup.

Up to six guests are welcome to stay the night at this two-bedroom, two-bathroom vacation rental. In the master bedroom, you'll find a queen-size bed and a double bed, as well as a wall-mounted flatscreen TV and an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom includes a queen-size bed and a set of twin-size bunk beds.

Two well-behaved dogs (up to 50 pounds each) are also welcome at this home. Please note an additional nightly pet fee applies.

When it's time to head out and explore, you'll have plenty of activities to occupy you in this bustling coastal town. Lace up your hiking boots and head to the Tillamook Head Trail to explore the gorgeous Ecola State Park; highlights include cliffside views of quiet coves, abundant wildlife, and even an abandoned offshore lighthouse. And surfers will be delighted to know that the local surf break, the Cove, is less than a mile away.

Spend a day strolling along the Promenade (popular with runners and dog-walkers alike) as you meander north toward Seaside's central business district. Peruse the shops for fun souvenirs before grabbing some local seafood for dinner, or pass an afternoon at the Seaside Aquarium, which features seals, a touch tank, and an underwater exhibit.

If only 2 bedrooms are needed the Kailua Kottage is a good and reasonable choice. The location is a six minute walk to the Prom and the beach and less than that to the Hamilton Market for groceries with about three restaurant/bar combos nearby - even a Post Office drop box - sometimes hard to find. This is a comfortable reasonably priced home suitable for family of 2 adults and 2 or 3 kids. Two couples ok. . To answer a couple of the prior writeups - yeah the furnace is in the kitchen behind a screen so it's fairly loud but not a stopper - just a fact. Kept thinking at first that the dryer or dish washer was running but it's the furnace. The "fenced yard' is via a very low board fence so a dog of any size above miniature will be on a leash or tethered . Again, just a fact - not a stopper if you rent with a pet. Unit is well supplied with utensils, linens and kitchen amenities. Furnishings all in good condtion. Cable TV in living room. is fine. Bedroom TV is not on cable but is a Smart TV and if you have DVR player and HDM1 cable you can use it n that manner - just don't try to find the right combo of remotes and sources to get cable. I may be wrong - an instruction sheet would be useful for the bedroom TV. A cheap HDTV antenna might bring in the over the air channels . Bring a couple of power strips and 3 prong to 2 prong converters. We left some in the unit but like most motels and rentals - come prepared to augment the outlets you find. WiFi was good. Do watch the fees as you book. The final price will be well above the daily price times your days. Again, not unusual but look at the total billing before you commit. Loved the beach, the Prom, the downtown shops and restaurants, nearby Astoria, Tillamook and the many beach turnouts on Hiway 101. We enjoyed our five nights at Kailua Kottage during Thanksgiving week 2019. Norma's for chowder.
Manager response:
Hi, Richard! We have updated the TV and cable instructions; please note, the bedroom TV has streaming only. Thank you!

This home is perfect! Clean close to everything

Great location! Close to great food, groceries and short walk to the beach. House was clean and comfortable.
David C. Aug 2019
We loved the proximity to the promenade and the beach access. The home is comfortable and worked well for my family and two small dogs.
The street is quiet at night and the market is a block away. We would stay here again.

Absolutely loved this place! Was about 2 minutes from the beach and about 6-8 minutes to down town seaside where all the little shops are. Spacious and beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend as I would stay here again.

Location and it is a very nice home thank you.

Comfortable, roomy, perfectly quiet location away from hubbub.

Bring your earplugs if you use the furnace , dishwasher or microwave. Low quality kitchen amenities, plastic glassware and bring everything else you need for cooking except coffee filters. Windows don't open for ventilation and living room furniture worn out.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see our guest was not fully pleased with their rental. The kitchen is very well equipped with 17 pots/pans, 19 casserole/baking dishes, and 14 plate sets. The large drinking glasses are plastic, but there are several other glasses to drink from of various sizes. We do not find the dishwasher, furnace, and microwave to be unusually loud. Thank you!

Really nice house with everything we needed for a great stay. Thanks!
Bruce C. Sep 2018
Good location, lots of room, bed was comfortable and our dog enjoyed her first visit to Seaside and Cannon Beach especially the beach.
Christina V. Sep 2018
This was perfect for our family getaway. Everything we needed, really clean and spacious; decor was cute...they even had matching begging on all 6 beds! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
LYNDA H. Sep 2018
Clean Home, Quiet Neighborhood, Easy, short walk to beach.
Tara D. Aug 2018
The house was very clean. The water pressure in the showers was great. There is a market and a couple cafes around the corner. I really missed having an ocean view at this cottage. Also the bed was very uncomfortable.
George M. Jul 2018
Close to the beach, ping pong for the kids, near coffee shop and other amenities.
Leah M. Jul 2018
Within blocks of the beach, 2 of Seaside’s better restaurants, grocery store and access to boardwalk. Fenced yard is great for people with small dogs. House was clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable.
Liisa I. Jun 2018
Loved the location of this home, close to the beach, nice walking distance to town and restaurants. Very comfy, homey and clean.
MacKenzie B. May 2018
The house was the perfect size! Great location just minutes walk from the sand. Had everything you could need! Perfect getaway for my sisters and I. The only complaint we had was the beds were like sleeping in the ground. We honestly thought about coming home early but decided to stick it out as we had been planing this trip for weeks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kailua Kottage, which got off to a rocky start. Try as I may, I couldn't get the furnace to move above 62 degrees. I finally called the management the next day, as we were freezing, and within minutes Leslie appeared, noting that someone had left the air conditioner on. She went out and quickly bought two space heaters but they really weren't needed once the heat kicked on. The beds and pillows are comfy and the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Only salt and pepper are provided, so bring spices if you're a cook like me. The fenced yard was enjoyed by our miniature pinschers, who also love long walks on the beach. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Pilotgirl210

We enjoyed our stay very much except for the miscommunication on cleaning before we arrived. The house is roomy and comfortable. We were able to have our dog with us and the small fence around the front and side yard allowed us to let her out for potty breaks off leash. The ping pong table was super fun too!! Quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed U Street Pub, Ken & sons grocery and the beach all within walking distance.
Carol L. Mar 2018
Location to the beach.
Kaylee L. Mar 2018
We loved everything about this home. Also really enjoyed the ping pong table.
Heather N. Nov 2017
Great location, easy drive to Cannon Beach. Walking distance to the beach and grocery store. Close proximity to the promenade, shopping and restaurants. The kids loved the ping pong table!
Erin S. Nov 2017
We had such a fun time. Our group also stayed at Sunset Beach House across the street, and used this as our extended space so kids could have quiet time. It was so comfortable. Vacasa does a great job managing their properties and making sure their guests are happy.
John V. Nov 2017
This cottage was cozy. It 3 blocks from the beach. And there a store in walking distance(1block). It definitely a place we will come back too.
Andrew R. Sep 2017
...but that's about it. House seemed small and cute but the gates were rusty and falling apart, I cut a heel on a sharp screen door, and there were huge spiders in the showers and dining room. The step up and down from the parking area was a back breaker. The beds were like marshmallows.. If you have elderly family members or kids, I'd recommend staying elsewhere. There were no ice trays or ice maker. On the plus side, the living area was nice and the TV was great. The location was amazing, short walk to the prom and beach, with a couple of nice pubs and a market up the street!
Manager response:
We're sorry for the minor inconveniences during their stay. The spiders have been cleaned around the home. The step up from the parking area is up to code and the owner has graciously added a railing to assist guests. Ice trays have been added. Thank you.
Frank F. Aug 2017
This older home was very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms have been updated. Classic northwest coastal setting.
Alyson R. Aug 2017
This house is in a great location. Very walkable to the beach, a pub, a cafe and a little market. The inside is a little dingy, it's carpeted and most of the windows don't open so it has a damp/stuffy feeling. Very functional, however, and we enjoyed our stay. The ping pong table was a super fun addition.
Tillman M. Jul 2017
I lived in Seaside after getting out of the Coast Guard in 1966 and always preferred the side of town that the rental is located in. Also, we enjoyed the local golf course very friendly and informal.
Michael H. Jul 2017
This is a lovely home that is far enough away from the noise of downtown yet close enough for an easy walk. There is a nice little grocery a block away for those last minute items. The home is immaculate and I would have never guessed any pets had been there. Our only issue was the lack of opening windows so it got a little warm and stuffy inside. However, the front door has an exterior screen and the back bedroom windows open.
John C. Jul 2017
Needed a place that was dog friendly and easy to get to Cannon Beach for an event. House was great for the 4 people and one happy lab who had a yard to chase his ball and a short walk to the beach. All conveniences were in the house and we used them all
Melissa F. Jun 2017
So great! The staff was amazing, especially Jessica! Cute. Close to beach and next to the golf course. Will stay on this end of town in the future!
