Rustic lakefront home w/ private dock, wood fireplace & modern conveniences

Spend your vacation days relaxing in comfort and enjoying the view at this peaceful getaway on the north shore of Cobbosseecontee Lake! With five bedrooms, a private dock, a wood fireplace, and home comforts such as complimentary WiFi and a private washer/dryer, this rustic vacation home is the perfect home base for any large group hoping to experience the best of Midcoast Maine.

Located five-and-a-half miles west of Augusta and five miles east of Winthrop, this home feels quiet and private while still being close to shopping, dining, and city entertainment options. The lake and private dock are just a few steps away from your back door so you can be on (or in) the water in no time.

You'll arrive at your vacation rental after a short drive down a dirt road. The interior is quaint and welcoming, with wood floors, wood walls, and cozy furnishings.

In the living room, a comfortable couch and two chairs surround a brick fireplace. On cold nights, there's no better place to hunker down with a warm mug of tea and a few good friends. Next to the living room, there's a large dining room table with eight chairs.

The standard kitchen features everything you need to put together a home-cooked meal, including all of the major appliances and handy extras like a slow cooker. There's even a dishwasher so you can spend less time cleaning and more time out on the lake.

One of the most defining features of this home is the large sun porch, which looks out over the water. A plush couch invites you to put your feet up while you browse the cable channels on the TV, while a group of armchairs encourages conversation. Toys, games, and books make this a great place to spend time as a group.

From the sun porch, doors open onto the back deck. Sip a mug of coffee or an evening glass of wine while you admire views of the lake.

With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, this home can comfortably sleep up to nine guests. One bedroom has a king-size bed, three bedrooms have queen-size beds, and one has a twin-size bed.

In the summer, head down to your private dock for swimming or sunbathing. Take your boat out and explore some of the islands and inlets, or check out the lighthouse in the center of the lake. If you brought your hiking boots, head to Mt. Pisgah Fire Trail for a scenic adventure punctuated with incredible views at the top of the historic fire tower.

If you need a break, head into Winthrop or Augusta for shopping and dining. Augusta also boasts several museums, including the Maine State Museum and the Children's Discovery Museum. Afterward, go for a stroll or a bike ride along Augusta's six-mile Kennebec River Rail Trail before heading back to your vacation rental for a restful, relaxing evening.

However you choose to spend your time in Maine, you won't regret staying at this charming lakeside home. Make your reservation today!

We had a nice time at this lovely lake house. Great views and very homey.

Our family had a great time at the north shore escape. Right on the water, and including a dock which led to lots of fun swimming and boating. There’s a boat rental place a short walk away!

The house itself is very cozy and emblematic if it’s location. It’s an old wood house so it’s a bit creaky but everything works just great and there was plenty of room for the whole gang.

Would definitely recommend for a weekend or longer!

The sunroom was the best feature of this house. Our grandson (2 1/2) got up every morning and played with the toys that were provided with the home. And in the evening, after returning from visiting other relatives at a family reunion, my son-in-law would retreat to the sunroom to watch TV.

It was nice to have the full kitchen although we used it primarily for quick breakfasts before heading out for the day. We also made use of the laundry facilities in the basement.

The feature that attracted us to this house was the availability of three queen sized beds and a king sized bed. My two adult daughters and their significant others took two of the queen rooms, my grandson was in his pack & play in the other queen sized room and my wife and I took the king sized bed with the adjoining toilet and sink.

Although the house is not insulated, we had no problems with the heat later in the day by opening the windows to the cool night air. I will warn, however, that because of the lack of insulation the house can be noisy with creaky floors and snoring adults. Just a fact of life.

Nothing about our trip could have been more perfect! The magic of the lake surrounds you with the beautiful views, the calls of the loons, the changing colors of the morning and evening skies, the sound of the wind through the trees, the stars in the night sky. The cabin itself is wonderful. Full array of cooking utensils, great deck overlooking the lake, comfortable beds, and of course- the tub! Very cozy with the exposed beams and love the wood floors throughout.

This cottage is a great balance of old and new. It is very comfortable with a variety lounging spaces, great view of the lake and 5 bedrooms are such a plus. The kitchen is well set up and equipped. We loved our stay!

Loon Crossing Cottage (love the name!) is a wonderful place to vacation. The house is right on the lake and has its own dock. We loved kayaking and swimming in the lake. The 5 bedrooms were actually more than we needed, but it was nice to have the extra space. Our favorite room was the 3 season room overlooking the lake. We spent a lot of time there just watching the loons and herons.
The house is maintained beautifully and it was very comfortable for all of our family.

We absolutely loved this house on the water of beautiful lake cobsee. We were pleasantly surprised with all babies items that were also there (high chair, pack and play etc.) We can't wait to return next year!
