This house is the most perfect getaway...
My Family and I have been coming to this house every year for the past 4yrs and will definitely be booking again for next year!!!
Traci A.Aug 2020
This was the 3rd time I stayed in this home. This was the first stay during Covid and I must say the house was in excellent condition!! Super duper clean! They recently remodeled the home with excellent upgrades. We had so much fun floating on the rives and sitting in the hot tub. Good times. Great house for a large group highly recommend.

Beautiful large house with lots of light and space. Quiet location with driving access to many beaches. The kids loved the air hockey table. Great hot tub overlooking the creek. The kitchen has all appliances you need to cook. Highly recommend!

Such amazing property... so lush and green grounds, and the river was very peaceful. Very secluded and quiet. We loved it! House was clean and delightful!
Tana J.Jul 2020
We feel so lucky to have found this gem. Our family of five & our dog had an amazing time at this super private, quiet and gorgeous location. There was no shortage of things to do outside or in - swimming, fishing, crawdad catching, hot tubbing, air hockey and more. The house was better in person as well, perfect for a family or two. We look forward to going back! Note to guests staying between now and mid August 2020, there are some bridge repair closures happening on either side of the property M-F 8-5 that could impact your arrival/departure or being able to get to Pacific City during your stay without a long detour. One day we could go one way, another day we could go the other way.

This was our second time at Tilikum House and our stay was wonderful! The house is exactly what we were looking for when we need to escape for a few days. The location is so beautiful, very secluded with all the amenities. We spent the days exploring and swimming in the river that wraps around the property. The house was very clean, well stocked kitchen, awesome hot tub, and plenty of room for a big family or group of friends. It’s dog friendly and our two huskies had a blast running around this property! Also, the house had some interior updates since our last stay (painting, NICE new furniture & decor) that are not shown in the current pictures online. What a pleasant surprise when we got there! Looks great! We will definitely be back and plan on staying longer.

The quiet, calm peaceful surroundings were amazing. The hot tub looking at the river was so great. An eagle flew overhead one morning! It is very close to Bob Straub park with beautiful walking beaches and close to Hart's Cove hike, which is great exercise and scenery.
The house is spacious and great for families, has toys, games, and movie watching set up. The deck is fantastic.
I want to go back!

We love the homey feel and reconnecting with each other. Very relaxing and beautiful in any weather.
Alan D.Aug 2019
The house is hidden away in a gorgeous area, but not overly far from lots of great coast destinations. It's got lots of good communal spaces, but works great for introverts who need to retreat to different parts on occasion. We had a great stay.
Zachary S.Aug 2019
Great cabin, perfect for large groups. Huge yard for pets. River level was fairly low in August but the swimming hole was still swimmable. Definitely rustic, spiders and such around the house but expected for a place in the woods. Some light bulbs broken throughout the house as well. Trash cans in garage were half full when we arrived. No way you could keep trash for a week long stay without getting a pickup. Hot tub was big enough for 6 comfortably.
We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay! We are sorry that the garbage was half full upon your arrival. The trash is picked up every Friday from the home, so that has been taken care of since your stay. We are letting our local staff know about the light bulbs to ensure we get that fixed for our future guests! Thank you for your feedback, we hope to host you again soon!

Very secluded and private. This was our second stay. Grand-kids loved the spa and the dogs loved the open space. The adults could easily keep an eye on them from the deck or the great room and we all had a wonderful stay.
Patrick E.Mar 2019
The house is a great place to get away, feel like you're totally away from people...but only be minutes from Pacific City.
The home itself is spacious, well appointed and the great room with the kitchen, giant fireplace and dining room table provide a central place for everyone to connect. The house also has lots of decks and quiet nooks to get away from everyone whether you're reading a book you brought or grabbing one from their impressive library.
Waking up steps from the river and being able to hear it outside as you sleep is something that will have our family coming back time and time again.

Nice little slice of paradise. I almost don’t want to leave any feedback because I don’t want anyone booking the dates that I want to come back. Pure peace and quiet in blissful nature. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Love the house. Nearly every room has deck access and a view of the river. Large enough for 3 families to get lost in. Everything we could have asked for, except for cable and fast WiFi, and cell phone access. We did fine without these amenities, and it is a great place to unplug and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. But with two teenage boys, the TV would have been appreciated. Fortunately, they brought their X-box. Also a caution - there are no bathrooms or bedrooms that are accessible. Our grandson has CP, but fortunatley he was able to negotiate the small set of stairs to the bathroom and bedrooms on the first floor. Also it is a shame that. with the other great attention to detail, the floors were not laid properly, and there are loud creaks and even buckling in some spots. Really noisy and distracting.
Katrina B.Oct 2018
Exactly what we needed. Very clean and well-equipped. A must rent house. We will be back that's for sure... driveway is very bumpy but the house is perfect. Flooring is uneven and squeaks when you walk on it but that's the only thing I could find wrong. My second year in this house but I can tell this is going to be the house for our vacations. We will be back next year. Thanks for everything Vacasa...
Amanda G.Sep 2018
It was a great getaway for some close friends- beautiful house and property. For the price, it should have been a bit cleaner (mold and mildew in the bathrooms) and the grounds have a wasp issue (my husband ended up getting attacked and stung 4 times). Watch the little ones and dogs, if you take them.
We are very sorry to read about the problem with the wasps. We will be placing traps. The owner is aware of the issues in the bathrooms and will be working on solving those.

My two brothers and I visited in August with our (mostly) grown kids and had a great time! The house was laid out so that we could gather together and be loud while others were reading or napping in one of the many quiet corners. The river, decks, and hot tub were amazing. Bring rafting sandals or boots to take advantage of the plentiful crawdads. The only problem we had was the driveway. I have lived on a gravel road most of my life, so I thought some of these reviews exaggerated the poor condition. It is steep and narrow (one-way traffic), but it needs a serious grading. The road has deep pits and piles of loose gravel. While our small SUVs and heavier cars could handle it, we literally had to push the lightweight /low-clearance Prius up the hill as we left. This was in August before the rains started. Winter is going to be a mess.
Lindsey M.Aug 2018
Our family hosted a mini family reunion here. There are great private rooms with balconies/patios off of each. Plenty of space in the backyard, perfect for our game of croquet. I definitely recommend this house for anyone considering a stay.
Stephanie W.Jul 2018
Such a special place. The river was amazing, crystal clear, and had a beautiful waterfall included. The hot tub was very soothing and inviting during the cooler evenings. The house was huge, we didn't need all that space with our party of two humans and two dogs, for the privacy and the property though, this was perfect. We chose the master bedroom for our sleeping quarters and the bed was beyond comfy. I'd compare it to a bed at the four seasons in terms of comfort. I can't speak for the other sleeping quarters since we didn't use them, they're all done well in terms of decor and views of the river and property, as well as having their own decks. Some have mentioned the drive way, this wasn't a problem for us in an SUV. As long as you go slow despite your vehicle and navigate the dips from time to time you'll be fine. I wouldn't term it as a narrow driveway, steep yes but again go slow, enjoy what's opening up in front of you and you'll be fine. Bring plenty of food because the property is so great, you won't want to leave it. Thank you to the owners for sharing their special peace of privacy and paradise. My husband, dogs and I loved our stay!
nicole t.Jul 2018
Awesome house and the river is a lot of fun. WiFi is weak (other than mornings) if that matters to you. Dishwasher didn't work and neither did hot pot. Cooking utensils are a bit limited as well. Spent an entire day there even though we were only 10 miles from the ocean. Would love to stay there when the salmon are running. Entrance road may be a little hard to get up under the wrong conditions, so guests should go into low gear and take their time driving out so they don't make big ruts in the road. Hope to stay again someday. P.S. If you want a fire you will probably have to buy dry firewood somewhere.
We apologize for the damaged window and have it on our radar for repair. Thank you!

Had a great time. Beautiful place, not far from Pacific city. Beautiful home, everything I could of wanted. The WIFI was very spotty, and did not work most of the time. But still a great time. Definitely want to come back.
Sandy P.Jun 2018
Perfect home for a large family. Very rustic setting with all the amenities. Grandkids loved the toys to play with. Crawfish in the river caught by the older ones was yummy and teaching the littles to skip rocks fun. Only 20-30 minutes from the ocean which was the best of both worlds forest river seclusion and warm pristine sandy beach at Pacific City. There were plenty of towels and the rooms were nicely furnished especially the Master.
What we didn’t care for was not being warned about the steep, very rough, one lane narrow 1/2 mile or so dirt road from the main road to the house. It was very scary especially for family arriving after dark. Luckily most of our party had a truck or large SUV. There were little ants in the kitchen which we had to deal with but it is a cabin. The dishwasher didn’t work very well it left the dishes dirty even after two washes. The garbage cans were full when we arrived and we had to haul all our garbage out.
Overall everyone had a great time.
We appreciate receiving this feedback to work with. We have updated the location information to include discourse regarding the steep road leading to the home. Ant traps have been placed in the home. The homeowner is replacing the dishwasher this week. Guests are always advised to notify us if there is an overflow of garbage. It is picked up weekly and more frequently as needed. Thanks!

Very Private home, along side a small river that is fun to play in. Overall, we really enjoyed this house. However, there are a few draw backs. One, because the house is very private and tucked away....getting to the house is a little challenging. There is a long gravel road that is not the easiest to drive on. Second, the kitchen was not very well stocked. There were a few pots/pans/bowls but for a big family cooking was sometimes a challenge. Third, the house was a little dirty when we first arrived. I think it may be due for a deep cleaning. Also, due to the seclusion, there is little to no cell service and the wifi speed is not very good. There is limited movie and board game selection as well. Overall though, it was great stay and enough room for our big family to sleep and play comfortably.
The river was fun to play in, the hot tub was nice and hot, the fire pit and electric grill were both handy!

Lots of room for the grandchildren and the dogs to roam and explore. Stunning property. We had a wonderful time.
Barbara C.Apr 2018
Being close to the beach but away from the crowd was perfect. Will go back
Kalen P.Mar 2018
A few friends and I stayed here over our spring break and had a wonderful time! The house has many features that made our stay great. Very big property, tons of activities, and many helpful built in machines. The only bad part is the long driveway and no service.
Chris P.Jan 2018
The house had a fun layout - definitely a bit strange. The stairs keep going up and in a sort of spiral with a landing and more rooms every few steps up. We had a great time in the house!
What's really special here, though, is the river. There's a large grassy area by the house that has a river flowing all the way around it! Absolutely stunning, and the trees and nature were wonderful to spend time with.
Bogdan M.Oct 2017
The house is located in a great location and is very secluded. Only one way to the house and it could prove to be difficult to get to in the snow, we came in October so it was fine. The house is charming and the river is also quite beautiful. There were a few downsides however. There was a nice poker table but no playing cards/chips, Wifi was slow and spotty, House smelled like smoke, Floors were VERY creaky and somewhat uneven in places, Water smelled like sulfur one night, Some lights were out on the outside of the house (Flipped as many switches we could on but they didn't come on, right next to the hot tub.) for 3 out of our four days one room did not have electricity and we could not locate the circuit breaker. There is plenty of room to go around and a great library for those who are interested. The property is very large and will tailor to many people's needs. The house was also fairly well stocked with pots and pans, fishing gear, towels, linens, children's toys, etc. Overall the place was great, just dont expect perfection.
Vacasa and the owner provide playing cards and chips. We will place them in a more noticeable area. Wifi can have a weak signal intermittently, especially if burdened with high bandwidth. We have found it is working properly. The home was cleaned and inspected prior to this guest'ss arrival, and no signs of any smoke odor were observed. The home is in a secluded location and runs off of well water which is clean and drinkable. All lightbulbs have been replaced, and we would like to remind our guests that they can always call in to ask for assistance with any issues.
Lindsay B.Oct 2017
This is a great place to get away with a big group. Lots of room in the house to spread out and being dog friendly is a big plus. It is very secluded and has nice river views and a little rock beach which would be great in the summer.
The house is well equipped. I always bring some of my own utensils and bakeware to be safe, but there was very little this house didn't have.
The hot tub was also really great with views of the river. We got in multiple times a day and it kept up with us well.
I'm sure I'll be renting this home again.
Jennifer D.Oct 2017
The pictures really don't do this perfect cabin justice. The master bath with a double jacuzzi overlooking the river and the double headed shower were worth the price alone, not to mention the completely private and secluded hot tub and fireplace. The kitchen was spacious and well laid out with every possible gadget, utensil, and pan. The patios off every room had spectacular views and the property itself was lovely. It was such a treat getting to bring our dog without any hassle. There was a bumper pool/ poker table that was a fun surprise and although the media library wasn't much, it was still nice to have a few movies and tunes. The only snafu we experienced was with the chimney. No matter how we turned the flue, smoke poured into the house and with no screens on any of the windows, it was very hard to air it out. This space was so spacious, we almost wished we had brought friends with us. There were tons of beds and other sleeping surfaces. We will definitely be staying again.
Katrina B.Oct 2017
The river surrounding it was just plain amazing I love the location I love how it's so secluded it's peaceful waking up at the river right there is awesome. Soaking in the bath with that window looking out the river is amazing and so relaxing but I do feel the cleanliness could have been stepped up a couple notches. But this house is just absolutely awesome. The floor needs to be fixed there is several bumps in it I would say it is uneven and very creaky
Nathan H.Aug 2017
This house was everything we could have dreamed up and more! Has a unique layout that gives basically every guest room a beautiful view and their own porch! Loved that the whole house was updated (didn't have a dated feel). The kitchen was beautiful and lets the cook not be isolated, but rather enjoy what they are doing as well stay active in the happenings of the group. It was an amazing place to have our dogs and so grateful they were allowed! Our 2 year old LOVED the toy box that was at the house and the adults all enjoyed the books and games. There is even a BBQ on the porch and patio furniture. With all the great natural surroundings, having laundry on site was a welcomed addition. The kitchen and laundry room we're surprisingly well stocked and we didn't really feel like we lacked in anything. So nice to not have to pack as if you were going "camping" in a house. Loved the eclectic natural / contemporary decor of the home as well as the architecture. The whole experience was a feast for all the senses (soul included)! :) We all agreed we hope to make this an annual event... I feel like I could never run out of wonderful things to say about this place.

Minney L.Aug 2017
Pros: Overall the house is situated in a beautiful location. The house has plenty of bedrooms and space for our large family of 10. The kids enjoyed the hot tub, bonfire by the creek, and the games in the house. I loved that the house was stocked with all the amenities that we needed and plenty of clean towels for everyone.
Cons: No AC! house was unbearable day and night. We spent most days outdoors but during the night we couldn't even open the windows because the house doesn't have any screens on the windows. (literally only 2 windows and non in the bedrooms) The house is in a wooded area so it's heavily infested with mosquitos, spiders, moths, and bugs. (Make sure you bring bug spray). Dead horse flies all over the floor upon arrival and hairy soap left in the master shower. The wooden floors are extremely creaky and some parts are bulging out like big humps and some parts are sinking. The hammock outside is covered in mold and moss (gross should take down). The creek/river is nice but infested with mosquitos everywhere and the river has crawdads all over so the kids were unable to get into the water. The house description says pristine swimming holes... You cannot get in its crawling with crawdads and an unknown black substance very scary... The garbage cans in the garage were overflowing with smelly garbage from previous renters. No place to put our garbage when full. I called Vacasa and the lady suggested I take the bins to the curb. I let her know that was unrealistic because the road is all gravel and the street is about a mile away from the house.
Overall I won't recommend this place to anyone until they maintenance the house.
