Beachfront cottage w/ deck & hammock on the dunes, sunset ocean views!

You'll be in awe of the oceanfront position of this five-bedroom Truro cottage, a charming and eclectic Cape Cod home with a private deck and hammock out on the dunes, a gorgeous beach in its backyard, and a wonderful location for exploring the Outer Cape.

Secluded, tranquil, and endlessly scenic, this two-level cottage sits atop the dunes that line Cape Cod Bay, just three miles south of central Truro. You'll enjoy stunning sunset views from the deck each evening and be just a few steps from the sand, five miles north of Wellfleet, and 13 miles south of Provincetown and the tip of Cape Cod.

Where the exterior is classic and shingled, the interior is open and loft-like with exposed ceiling beams and an abundance of unique character. Step inside to find casual furnishings, a selection of books and games to keep you entertained, and a wood-burning fireplace with a floor-to-ceiling hearth that creates a natural gathering space.

Begin each summer morning in the kitchen, where you can grind fresh coffee beans, read the newspaper, and open the window to let in the ocean breeze. Stock the distressed cabinets with your favorite ingredients, flip pancakes and scramble eggs on the electric stove, and set the extendable eat-in table as your favorite tunes stream on the sound dock.

Leave the plates in the dishwasher as you make your way outside to the deck to soak in the morning sunshine. Recline on one of the beach chairs, bring along a magazine to read in the hammock, and take a long walk down the beach to search for sea shells and other treasures. Come lunchtime, you can light the gas grill, take a seat at one of the umbrella-shaded tables, and enjoy a meal of Cape Cod seafood with a view of the ocean that it came from.

When you've had your fill of swimming and sunbathing, simply rinse off in the outdoor shower and throw your bathing suits and towels in the private washer/dryer. Mix a few cocktails to sip on the deck at sunset, and retreat indoors to choose a DVD or a VHS to enjoy on the flatscreen cable TV.

Spend your mornings peering through the telescope in search of whale spouts, and your evenings sleeping soundly in one of five bedrooms (which will accommodate eight guests). You'll find one bedroom with a queen-size bed, one bedroom with a double bed, two bedrooms with a twin bunk bed apiece, and a fifth bedroom with two free-standing twin beds. Additional amenities include one full bathroom with a tub/shower combination and free WiFi throughout the home.

Whether you're traveling to the Outer Cape for a wedding, a reunion, or a summer vacation, you'll fall in love with the quiet beauty of Truro. Choose to sunbathe, swim, and build sandcastles on the beach outside your home, or visit Ballston Beach, Corn Hill Beach, Fisher Beach, Great Hollow Beach, Longnook Beach, or one of the other incredible stretches of sand within a six-mile drive or bike ride.

Head 13 miles north for the day to catch a whale-watching cruise out of Provincetown Harbor, or drive up and down the Outer Cape to admire gorgeous sections of Cape Cod National Seashore. Spend an evening or two in the outfield at an Orleans Firebirds game at Eldredge Park 18 miles south, or catch a drive-in movie at the Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre 11 miles south.

Come and experience summer in New England as it was meant to be enjoyed - you'll never forget your stay at this Truro vacation home!

With the right state of mind and cooperation from the weather, this property is perfect. What I mean, is that the house itself is a bit worn and there is only 1 bathroom, but the location and outdoor space is 2nd to none. There is a big deck that overlooks the entire Cape Cod Bay, for perfect sunsets and a great breeze off of the water (no sharks up this far either, so enjoy the swim!). Able to have BBQ and a drink in the Adirondack chairs each night is perfect.

Will caution those looking for luxury that this house isn't it - it's a classic, shingled, Cape Cod shanty. There are two rooms with bunk beds, so consider that you either need to be traveling with folks who are old enough to feel safe up top, but young enough to be able to get up there. If it rains while you're here, I'm not really sure you'd be comfortable in the house all day. But then again, Provincetown is just 20mins down the road.

Will look to stay again, as the group I traveled with is flexible and values the location and views about all else.

Beach front location, quiet and private, house modest but very well equipped, very clean and tidy on arrival, good communication with Vacasa

This cottage is vintage Cape Cod! It's very roomy w/5 bedrooms so we all had our own room. The view from the deck overlooking the bay is breathtaking. The cottage is equipped with everything you will need to relax and enjoy the view.
The kitchen is well equipped so we were able to cook great meals. A wonderful outdoor shower to complement the indoor shower and campfires on the beach!
Never turned on the TV!

My friends and I loved the beautiful views and relaxing yard of this charming Cape Cod cottage.

You can't beat the beautiful location right on Ryder Beach, but the cottage is very run down and not worth $4800 a week. It should be priced around $2000 for what it is. We have rented in Truro for eight years at different locations and this seems like an appropriate price considering the condition of the appliances and house.

A view like no other with a perfect deck for watching the sunsets. A few miles (and lots of curvy roads!) off the main highway but if you bring enough groceries you don't need to go anywhere! The lack of AC was tricky and there were bugs that's probably attribuatable to the time of year. Perfect place for our family to enjoy a few days away from the big city!
