Nice home. Quality construction. Just like all home in the hills the water is terrible. I never understood why a quality water filter isn't used for the entire home (thinking a salt-water tank or just a simple Lowes house filter) on ANY of these homes. Regardless, bring a Brita water filter (pitcher) or prepare to buy or boil the water. Showers, deep bathtub with water jets, dishwasher, Hot tub and clothes washer will make everything smell like a sewer no matter how much soap or bleach you use. Just be prepared so smell as if you are homeless or pack an extra-large suitcase and wash when you get home. So much for relaxing in the hot tub or a soaking bath with jets that don't blow trash in the water. Let's watch a few movies shall we? The VHS library in the main closet should be in a museum. It doesn't matter if you really want to watch one of the old classic VHS tapes or a DVD you brought for the kids because the equipment to view such a medium isn't compatible with the televisions throughout the house. There is a VHS/DVD combo device (from the 90's) in the upstairs room that is useless because it doesn't output to an HDMI. They have cables run from the VHS/DVD combo to a television and both are plugged into the wall drawing power. The problem is the VHS/DVD player is not capable of an HDMI output. It was built before HDMI was a thing, so what is the point? So, all you have on the Telle is what they provide or you can enter your personal account/app details for viewing television (streaming). If you do that then I would suggest you reset your passwords as soon as you leave if not the day you do leave). Your account, your call. So to hell with the TV.. Let's play with the "Toys"! The billiards table is better than the one I have (I don't own one) but not as good as the one in the most crappy-crap hole run down bar in the most slummy town you can think of. The threat posted on the wall stating a $300 or $500 dollar charge (don't recall the actual $$ amount) to your CC for moving the billiards table is comical and insulting. Since the cues are bent with bad tips, dead bumpers and the table being uneven, lets play air hokey instead! I did bring my 7yr old so that would be fun! We plugged in the air hockey table and the fan motor made a noise that sounded as if it was about to take flight or burst into flames. We decided to unplug it so the house didn't burn down at my expense. Needless to say we were all a bit disappointed with the TV / movie situation, Billiards table, Air hockey, water conditions (although I expected the situation). The oven is really nice :D It is a convection oven and I cooked some awesome meals for the family. I love to open the windows and let air flow although the window screens wouldn't stay in place. I could see where screws and been added to help keep the screens seated but they didn't work. I suggest you actually use the washer and dryer combo. You will understand afterwards why you should NEVER own one of those. The place was "clean", but to some standards it was filthy. The agreement says your checkout is 8 a.m. and by-Golly they mean it! We had 3 different vehicles with extremely dark tinted windows surrounding the house and driveway at 7:40 a.m. they day of our departure. In a way if felt as if we were gonna get mowed down by gun fire as soon as we all stepped out of the house. SPOLIER ALERT... we didn't get mowed down. We had a good time/vacation but after this trip, I've decided to never rent a home like this in the mountains again. I will send my money to the Outer Banks instead. At least the fishing is better in that area.
Manager response:
We're disappointed to read you weren't happier, Shaun. The property manager has scheduled maintenance to check the hot tub, bath tubs, and air hockey table. The pool cues are getting replaced. We're unsure of the experience you had with SUVs outside the rental that early in the morning. Our cleaners arrive at 10am for checkout time. Thank you!

The house was clean and uncluttered. The beds were comfortable, linens clean and comfortable as well. The bathrooms are updated and the showers were great.
We enjoyed the hot tub, and the view from it can't be beat! As soon as you walk in the front door, you're greeted with an amazing view of the mountains. It's just gorgeous. The drive up was intimidating for our group, were all from Florida and not well practiced with mountain roads. It's definitely a trek to get up there, but well worth it. We found everything we needed in the cabin for cooking. There's no yard area or fire pit, of that is something you desire. We didn't miss it, we just bundled up and enjoyed the starry sky from the balconies. It's a great house, very comfortable and clean with fantastic views!

We went to celebrate my birthday and couldn’t be any better. Beautiful experience!
The place was clean, everything was in order. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was on point. Everything needed in the kitchen was there. The hot tub was amazing!
Very easy to find the location, GPS took us right to the place with no issues.
We will definitely be back soon! Also, communication was great!

The view from the back deck was amazing, house was fully furnished with everything you needed. Seen several animals off the back as well. Excellent place to stay with children as well with plenty of entertainment for all ages!
Alice T. Oct 2021
We had a great time in this cabin! The view is wonderful. We needed a few items fixed and extra items delivered and Vacasa responded quickly and helpfully.
Tracy S. Oct 2021
The view was amazing! The rental did have a few issues but the view was amazing and we did get to see the bear
Melissa B. Oct 2021
This cabin turned out to be one of the best we have stayed in. It was a last minute trip decision and most everything in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville were booked already. It is located just beyond a little community, Wears Valley. Lots of neat little places to shop, visit and eat plus an annual fall festival the weekend we were there. The views are absolutely the best!
Gregory T. Oct 2021
View was incredible from the decks. Wildlife all around, saw bears on 2 occasions, hot tub was great after all the hiking. We had a couple of minor issues and they were resolved quickly with minimal impact.
Harry B. Sep 2021
This cabin was beautiful and had everything we wanted/needed! Really enjoyed the stay. Just one thing to note is if you have a fear at all about driving up a mountain or have a car that is not fit for it, this cabin might not be for you. I really enjoyed all the views and the hot tub. Beds were comfy and house was clean!
Jennifer D. Aug 2021
We had the best time! Enjoyed the view and the house was very accommodating! We got to see Buddy the Bear (as one local told us his name) and that was a highlight of the trip! We were worried when reading some of the reviews but Vacasa quickly responded before our stay to let us know they double checked everything was working as it should. We were able to use the pool, air hockey table and pool table! We will be staying again!
Anthony D. Jun 2021
We couldn't have picked a more beautiful cabin with awesome views for a family vacation.
Tiffany T. Jun 2021
The cabin itself and the views were gorgeous. However, some of the reasons we chose this cabin over others were the hot tub and air hockey but neither worked during our stay. Also, the beds downstairs kept us awake at night and there were ants all over upstairs, even climbing the walls of the bedroom. I would love to give 5 stars but these issues can’t be overlooked.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Tiffany! We are very sorry about the issues you encountered and we wish we had been informed during your stay in order for us to assist in correcting them. We have scheduled an inspection of the property and one of our maintenance technicians will check the air hockey table. We have issued a credit for the inconvenience and hope we can host you again soon!

I read reviews before my stay regarding water issues and hot tub not working. I called Vacasa and they put a ticket. Soon after; a female "property manager" called me back promptly and explicitly told me that everything works and there is no issues with the house.

First night i came i, guess what? hot tub is not working like in the reviews.
The Hot water is very very slow
The property was missing ALL the pots. just the lids stayed. (they quickly brought some over)
Upstairs bedroom private bathroom has issues with the toilet flushing.
instead of removing broken items, they leave the broken items and put new ones around it. (upstairs has a Tv mounted that does not work and they just put a smaller tv underneath it, as an example)
The cleaning fee is outrages. do not look at the toilet scrubbers as they are down right foul. no cleaning products to keep the place clean, vacuum, or even garbage bags. I had to clean all the dishes at first because it seemed like someone ran the dishwasher with all the dishes without soap, i also bought some to run it properly.
Be careful, on the top deck (where the old hot tub used to live) still have live wires connected to the panel and shoved down the hole.
Also on the top deck, large nest of carpenter bees are settled.

By far my 2nd worst place i have had stayed in. only thing going for this is the view of the mountains.

I will update review if i ever get a call back from vacasa or the "property manager".

Manager response:
Thank you for telling us about your visit, Adam. We are so sorry the hot tub ended up being out for your stay; we are working with a vendor to get everything properly fixed so there are no more surprises. Exposed wires have been addressed, the old TV is removed, and the toilet is getting fixed. Hopefully we can better impress you next time.

This cabin is well represented in the photos and descriptions. My group couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay during our trip. The cabin was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed during our stay. We prepared most of our meals in the cabin and found the kitchen to be well stocked. The views out the back were great and we even saw some bears during our first night wandering around the front. The hot tub was not functioning during out time there and the air hockey table was not working either, but these items weren't enough to warrant dropping the cabin below a five star
Lichele O. May 2021
A Higher Calling fit everything we needed for a 3 generation family getaway. The road up to the cabin is a little harrowing when unaccustomed but the views were worth every moment of the drive. We really enjoyed sitting on the decks, relaxing in the hot tub and using the game room during our stay. It was a very nice, clean cabin in a nice location with comfortable beds and great amenities.
Barbara D. Apr 2021
This spacious house is very welcoming and fully stocked. Very clean. All the windows have a view
Gina W. Apr 2021
This cabin was awesome!!! amenities, views and fit our family dynamic perfect. We each had our own space and bathroom but still got to be together. We didn’t see any wildlife, unfortunately. It was worth the drive up the mountain to get there. Views were amazing! Def would return!
Jaimie G. Feb 2021
This place was amazing! Beautiful views, great location! The only thing I think could be better is the kitchen. I think it could be stocked a little better. More pans, more bowls with lids, scissors, etc. I had planned on cooking a lot more in the beautiful kitchen, there just wasn't enough that I could work with. Other than that, totally amazing!! My kids loved the air hockey, and we stayed in the hot tub a lot! Will definitely be going back!
Connie G. Feb 2021
Great for families or groups. Highly recommend. Updated interior, comfy beds, wonderful sitting on both large balconies, etc. hot tub was clean and ready for our use (although we didn’t actually try it). Bring your own blow dryer but everything else is provided.
Jennifer F. Dec 2020
This cabin offers the most beautiful, scenic, peaceful views !!!
Cynthia A. Dec 2020
Love the view. The house was very spacious. Will be coming back.
Kenny K. Nov 2020
The house was just right and the view was incredible. Definitely recommend it to anyone. The drive up the mountain wasn’t bad and everything was easily assessable.
Megan E. Nov 2020
We absolutely loved our stay! The home was well updated and accommodating to visitors. We could have used more kitchen trash bags and dishwasher soap since we cooked all of our meals at the cabin. Other than that, it was perfect! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Tammy S. Nov 2020
Nice awesome cabin. Loved the view. Just wished the hot tub had been on the 1st floor deck. It was spacious and relaxing
Howard O. Sep 2020
Views are great. Bears and bear cubs visited every day. Game room was great for everyone to hang out in. Convenient to the park and only 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge. Some folks complained about the trash in their reviews and this is from the bears. They get into unsecured garbage and drag it into the trees to see what they scored and scatter stuff everywhere. Make sure you secure the dumpster with the pin provided. I went out and gathered a trash can full but there is still a lot out there. Would have got more but needed to save room in cans for our own trash as we were there a week. I always try leave things better than when I found them so mission accomplished I guess. Only complaint I had is with the hot tub cover. It's shot and needs replaced! Broken, leaking styrofoam and hanging down into the water. Overall a great place. I would rent again. Oh...and a tip: The upstairs shower has WAY more water flow than the showers on the main floor. Very helpful when you need to get the shampoo out of your hair! Ha ha.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Howard. Bears get in the bin when it is not properly secured; maintenance was happy to pick up the trash and secure the bin. A new hot tub cover has replaced the old. We hope to see you again!
Angela C. Sep 2020
This cabin is spacious with terrific views. It is about 30 minutes away from the main areas of Pigeon Forge, but the mountain views can't be beat.
Jason W. Aug 2020
We could not have asked for more when we rented this home. The view of the mountains in the park was well worth it and your only 15 minutes from the Metcalf Bottoms Park Entrance. The home was very relaxing and the beds and couches were comfortable. The hot tub, hockey table and air table were additional amenities we enjoyed during our stay. If you plan to cook we recommend bringing your own knives as the ones there were dull. Altogether we'd recommend staying here to other friends and family members.
Xiaoxiao Z. Aug 2020
We had a great time, and saw bears walking around every day, which was very unique and exciting experience for all of us! The only thing we felt need improvement is the trash around the house, like soda cans, beer bottles and plastic bags. Other than that, everything else was great.
Victoria S. Aug 2020
This cabin was a great place to vacation with your pup! Plus, the view is incredible. The covered deck is perfect for coffee in the morning and wine at night!
Mckenzie H. Jul 2020
We had bear friends visit everyday. The cabin was great, check in and out was easy. Enjoyed our stay.
Deborah A. Jul 2020
Loved the cabin and the view. Had a great time.
Timothy L. Jul 2020
The view was amazing!!! The bedroom set up was perfect for us. The kitchen could be stocked better and the knives need sharpening. Overall, we will definitely be back!
Nicholas J. Jun 2020
We absolutely loved the cabin our family will definitely be back !
Isaiah D. Jun 2020
This place was awesome to stay at! Check in/out was easy. The views were entrancing and rooms were large and comfortable. Was very happy to stay here.
Michael S. Jun 2020
The cabin itself is phenomenal. It's a bit of a drive (ranging from 25 minutes to 90 minutes) to get to activities, but the view and the cabin are spectacular. That being said, we expected it to be cleaner, especially hearing about the upgrading cleaning policies due to Covid. The air hockey table didn't work, the hot tub was a little rough in terms of cleanliness, a lot of cobwebs on the front and back porches and cigarette butts in the back yard and driveway area despite there being no smoking on property. These were minor disappointments and the only things that keep it from a five-star review. Place was great, area is great, vacation was great.
Manager response:
Hi, Michael! Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. Housekeeping has taken care of their oversights, and we apologize you had to deal with that. We hope to see you again and appreciate you staying with us!
Shoua T. May 2020
Absolute amazing views and spacious. Air hockey did not work and the pool table had a hole in the pocket. Very hard to stay in contact with host. I texted twice over the weekend about trash and no response. I lowered the review based on the lack of communication but overall the view and cleanliness is superb
Manager response:
Hi, Shoua! Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for your frustration at being unable to reach our agents during the height of the pandemic. We are pleased to note we have added additional agents to ensure our response times are once again timely. The air hockey table and pool table have been fixed. We hope you will allow us the opportunity to provide you with a truly exceptional guest experience in the future.
Debbie H. Mar 2020
Loved this beautiful spacious cabin! View was spectacular! We slept in the bedroom with a fireplace and the bed was super comfy! Could use a trail to a cleared pathway that the dogs could go potty, though. There really isnt a good place to go. The drive up the mountain to get to this cabin could cause some anxiety if your afraid of heights. Your driving on the edge of a mountain all the way up....was very thrilling!!! We will definately be back!!
Tracy D. Mar 2020
We had a great time.
House was big enough for a party of 6
Kevin B. Oct 2019
THE VIEW !!!!!!!
We try to stay at different cabins each trip to the mountains, a Higher Calling is one of the best views we have seen yet. This cabin has plenty of room for multiple families with attached full bathrooms on each bedroom. The parking worked great for my mother the fewer stairs to get inside the better. The location in Wears Valley is close to everything but far enough away from the crowds and traffic. Overall everyone enjoyed the cabin and the VIEW was great.
Rachel C. Jul 2019
I took my family (husband, 3 kids, my mom, and mt grand parents) to stay in this beautiful cabin. Everyone enjoyed their time there. The back porch views in the early morning while drinking coffee were amazing. There are bears that are in the area as well. Very cool! This was the perfect place to make new memories for the family.
Tracy S. Jul 2019
Everyone had a great time! The hot tub was great and the views were even better.
