We’d love to the place in Kona. Thought it had a great view. We could probably use some updates and some tidying up but overall it was a great space.

Beautiful and spacious house nestled in the hills above Kona, all rooms face the two decks, with beautiful views of the ocean and very lush surroundings. The views of the sunset were spectacular. In the living area, there are windows all around so it has a tree house feel. Two comfortable bedrooms and a third room that can be used as a bedroom too, if you don't mind having a curtain for a door. It has a large sofa, but rented a queen bed and put it there so we had 3 nice bedrooms. The two available beds were very comfortable. There is also a small laundry room with nice washer and dryer, and a large garage. No TV in the living room, only downstairs, so we rented one too, easy to do through Rent-a-Center in Kailua-Kona, they will deliver and pick up. The kitchen has most everything you might need to cook except a microwave, which we did not miss. We cooked there everyday. It is wonderful to cook watching the ocean from a distance. The house was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There were four of us and we had tons of space and privacy. The hot tub in the yard was great and you can watch the sunset from it, which was awesome. The neighborhood is quiet, we only heard birds and chickens during the day and frogs at night we found all the sounds very soothing for sleeping. It is about a 15 minute drive to town and the nearby beaches, 10 minutes drive to Costco and the airport, 30 minutes to the best beaches in the island, and located nearby the Hawaii belt road from where you can go pretty much anywhere in the island without having to go through town. There is a small supermarket with gas station a few minutes from the store for any last minute purchases or gas refills. We drove everywhere in the island and we found this location very convenient. This area has its own weather, significantly cooler than by the coast, so we never felt the need for AC, the ceiling fans were sufficient, and sometimes not even necessary as it cools down in the evening. We were there three weeks in July and I never once wished I had AC. It typically rained in the afternoons, so the house stayed cool and it was a nice respite from the heat and sun on the coast. Very interesting how the climate changes within a few minutes drive down the hill. The house is minutes away from the cloud forest and right by the coffee belt, so lots of coffee plantations to visit nearby. We only encountered a few minor issues during our stay and Vacasa took care of them right away, within hours of us calling, very impressive. Overall, we had an fantastic stay and we miss the house already. We will most definitively stay here again.

Loved the location and the back decks. All rooms opened to the decks. Downstairs backroom is very nice with a walk in shower and jacuzzi tub. The king bed is very comfy. Only downfalls for us were no microwave to heat our leftovers and it didn't cool off til almost bedtime, so the house was very warm when we came back to cook dinner.

The house is really big and charming with a lot of accessories. The sunset view is gorgeous. The airport is only 10 min. drive and the different beaches within 15 and 30 min. drive. We loved the neighbour’s chicken “jumping” in our garden.

This house was perfect for us. The location is great, close to everything but far enough out to enjoy the stars and sounds of nature.

The home is thoughtfully decorated and furnished. Upscale and comfortable, great combination!
