Cute clean condo at the perfect spot in Tahoe City. Super close to the Tahoe City downtown.

Homely feel in a great location. Access to home was extremely easy and all amenities were as listed which was great. The home was an excellent base for us when visiting the area for a few days.

Sleeping arrangements as listed however downstairs double bed was unfortunately extremely uncomfortable.

Otherwise a great location

We booked this place for 3 nights. We were under the assumption by the e-mail that the home would be cold and we would have to purchase firewood to keep warm, but that wasn't it. When we arrived the home was warm and cozy. Vacasa provides a phone number for questions or concerns - which has to be updated in the binder provided within the home. Across the street there's a walkway for morning walks/runs, and people were friendly around the neighborhood.

Nice comfortable Condo, close to slopes and close to city. Filled with all necessary amenities to make our week along with our pet feel like home away from home.

Unfortunately, the unit is in need of some deep cleaning and repair. The carpet in the bedrooms and throw rug in the living room has several stains and should be replaced. Others have comments on the road noise and bed. No need to reiterated their concerns, but I agree with them. This place has great potential, and allows pets, but just needs some upkeep.
Manager response:
Thank you for your honest feedback, Thomas. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. We will follow-up with our local team to schedule deep cleaning and to address any items in need of repair. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

We enjoyed our time with the pup... a short walk across the road to the trail for walks. Great price for what we needed and expected. Not luxurious, but very comfortable and will return!

very clean, good location. A little noisy from the road traffic but would definitely come back. perfect for the two of us.

Dollar Hill's location is great; about a mile outside of "downtown" Tahoe City, and only a 5 block walk to the lake. The outside terrace was nice, though the street noise took away from the atmosphere.

The beds were awful, though. There's a queen sized-bed upstairs and twin bunk beds downstairs. We tried all three of these beds; they were all so uncomfortable that we only managed about 3 hours sleep per night. The queen-sized bed needs a new mattress/box spring; it sagged horribly toward the middle, and felt like you were lying directly on the frame. The bunk beds were in similar shape. It felt like sleeping on a hardwood floor. The beds were bad enough that they cost the review a full star.

The kitchen was well-supplied with utensils, and the BBQ grill was great as well (though a bit small). The WiFi was excellent; we brought our laptop with us and enjoyed Netflix without issue. The water pressure in the master shower was nice; it was very enjoyable taking a shower after spending the day hiking.
Manager response:
Hello, Robert! Thank you for your review. While we acknowledge that the beds may not suit everyone's preferences, we regret that they were not suitable for your party. We are more than happy to bring this to the attention of the local team to further address and appreciate you letting us know. We welcome the opportunity to improve our homes for future guests and value this feedback. We hope for another opportunity to better impress you in the future!

This place did the trick. We were grateful it was available and could accommodate our small Cockapoo. Traffic noise was unexpected and a bit of a bummer but even the best cabins on the lake are on the main road.

The condo was clean and ready for our arrival. Cozy and big enough for a family of four. We would love to come back.

Its a very nice unit decorated with a good taste and love. We like its proximity to the local parks and beaches. Its close to hwy 28 but we really didn't hear a lot of nose during the night. Everything was convenient there except couple appliances which we like to use, they are tea kettle and blender. Also their umbrella at the balcony was broken so we couldn't get shading seating there. They have nice fire place which we enjoyed.
I would definitely recommend it to our friends
Manager response:
We will replace the umbrella on the deck after the heavy winter snowfalls, and we will look for a good kettle and blender to place in the kitchen. Thank you!

This townhome has been nicely updated and was spacious enough for my family of 4. But it's right on HWY 89 and a bit loud. Otherwise, location to Tahoe City is perfect!

Nice location and clean. The bed mattresses however were very uncomfortable. My wife and I needed to purchase a 3” mattress topper in Carson City after the first night there. Very comfortable with the mattress topper added. We have always stayed at hotels with very comfortable beds, this was outlet first experience using VRBO. Could be others who rented this property have not bothered by the mattresses. Personal preference possibly.

The condo is very clean and cozy as advertised. The decor matches the coziness of this place. Look any further if you’re looking for a place near Lake Tahoe.

This was a cozy condo that is located close to Squaw/Alpine ski resorts. Close to lake, town, and X-country skiing too. Some traffic noise but mainly from snow removal equipment due to snowstorm while we were there.

Cozy Condo with a great location.
Carl H. Jan 2019
The condo has a very nice interior and was very clean unlike many of the older places in the tahoe area that make you feel like you are stepping back into the 60's and 70's. This unit has undergone a comprehensive interior remodel and it served our group of 4 very well. The water pressure was great and we never ran out of hot water. Kitchen is well equipped (except for a tea kettle). We were able to park right in front of the unit which was nice. The little things that make a difference in the stay were great: queen bed was comfortable, nice pillows, thick bath towels, new-ish pots, pans, and dishes, adequate lighting, etc.

We enjoyed our stay at Dollar Hill Escape. The place was super clean, the shower upstairs is amazing, and the kitchen was very functional. 15 -20 min drive to Squaw and half of that to Tahoe City. Would definitely stay again.
