This cottage is quirky and cobwebby in the corners but it was comfortable for us, and the gardens and ocean view are absolutely stellar. Lack of air-conditioning might be uncomfortable for heat-sensitive folks in the summer. Unbeatable price for the location. We loved it.

This home has a fantastic view of the ocean! You can sit outside all day watching the waves crash onto the rocks, and then make a campfire at night and cook s’mores. The house is definitely “rustic.” We recommend bringing paper plates, cups, etc., because the dishes here are old/mismatched/non-existent. Quite a hodgepodge. The kitchen is very small, and just has the basics. The house doesn’t have central air, but there is one window air conditioner in the library and one space heater. The home has a cozy vibe, but definitely smells like your great-grandma’s house! All the furnishings are very dated, and most of the lighting is supplied by lamps. It’s basically an upgrade to camping. But it’s your own private view of the Atlantic, so it was worth it for us.
Manager response:
Hi, Elaine! We are so glad you made the most of the wonderful view here. Your feedback is appreciated, and we will share your comments with the owner for their consideration. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful old-style cottage! The library and art pieces transport you to a different time. The garden and sea views are amazing! Great location on Granite Street, not far from Rockport center. A real gem!

Very private location, beautiful view. Lovely informal gardens. Very nice woodwork, pottery, art, and antiques. But ... Window screens don’t fit flush, letting lots of bugs in. Most light switches don’t work. Windows haven’t been cleaned in quite some time, diminishing the view. Hole in kitchen wall stuffed with insulation. Somebody stuffed a pillow on one side of the window AC to block bugs. Other side of AC louvers were ripped and let air and bugs in. Lots of cobwebs and spiders. We left one night early.
Manager response:
Hi, Michele! We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to read you had some discomforts during your stay. The window screens are scheduled to be replaced, and the air conditioner unit will be fixed right away. Thank you!

This was a wonderful spot for a peaceful escape from crowds, and to enjoy time with family. The cabin is charming, cozy, and clean, with a million dollar view of the ocean. We especially enjoyed sitting outside with coffee in hand to enjoy the beautiful sunrises. We hope to return to this gem someday.
