Cabin provided a great space for our family. Boys went skiing nearby and girls enjoyed the snow and beautiful surroundings. Well stocked with various kitchen dishes & cooking pans & utensils. The negative that was out of the owners control was power went out about 8 hours first night which also meant no water since on a pump system. Fortunately had stove for warmth! Lost power the morning we checked out as well...but overall had a great little getaway!

The location is fantastic, we got snow whilst we were staying and the kids had a fantastic time. The house has plenty of space to spread out and lots of board games along with kitchen equipment. The house is fairly well kept but water staining in all the appliances is a little nasty. There’s a lot of updates they could do to improve the experience (below) but overall we enjoyed our brief stay.
There’s no Wi-Fi or internet which my wife loved, sure some people would be put off, but phone signal is fine.
However, some really frustrating issues that can be easily resolved. First, buy a full set of cutlery, we are a family of four and so four forks and two spoons is not enough for a family. Combined with the three dishwasher tabs for a three night stay, it’s just a bit stingy.
The three bedrooms are on three different floors, sure that’s great with older kids, but doesn’t work so well when you have young kids (ours both under 5).
The water has a strong sulphur smell, and they did provide a bottle of water, but please just put a Brita filter in the fridge.
Last gripe, it’s wonderful to have a wood burner, and a big pile of seasoned wood, and you still need some kindling wood otherwise it takes forever to get to temp.
Manager response:

The cabin was perfect for our group of friends to spend Thanksgiving this year. We enjoyed being cozy by the indoor fire, played lots of board game and ate a lots of turkey ;) thanks again for letting us stay. Cheers

With the dense growth of trees surrounding the cabin you get a very pleasant feeling of solitude. The space is large with lots of places to spread out and a game room to keep you busy on the rainy days. The house is supplied water from a well which could benefit from a filtration system. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything I needed to cook
the food I brought. Eating utensils were sparse... especially spoons. The area is beautiful. We could not find the ping pong table. Good variety of movies. Water, though said to be safe, was unpalatable, so we bought bottled water for drinking, which we also used to cook pasta and rice.

The home is in a Serene area with beautiful birds and mountain scenery. Very quiet and relaxing.

Looking to get away for awhile. This was great

Just amazing destination. Secluded but all amenities needed for a great stay. As other mentioned, the water situation is a hard pill to swallow (literally, the smell during a shower you can taste). If you can get past that and know it's coming, it's great otherwise. Not sure I could do it again though.
Manager response:
Hello Robert, we apologize for any issues you may have experienced in the home. We are disappointed that these issues were not reported to us during your stay so we have the chance to address your concerns. We do hope to host you again in the future.

We love nature and loved the whole cabin setting. The cabin was very big but cozy. It was very peaceful and away from the busy world. It was a very relaxing time with my family.

The home was clean and nicely stocked. Wonderful privacy and we really enjoyed the outdoor fire and scenery. Even though it was winter, you could not see another home. Many options for entertainment, and enjoying family. Grateful they are dog-friendly, our boy loved sitting at the window and watching the birds.

We loved the house and the game room . It was a great getaway for my family and I. The house had lots of room.

Absolutely enjoyed the home. It's a perfect size for a big family, has plenty of space for kids to run around inside or out, great fire pit area, very secluded and private. The house was clean with all the amenities you'd need. However, there seems to be an issue with the downstairs bathroom. The pipes are a mess and according to the property manager, the bathroom gets clogged a lot, which happened to us, making it unavailable for use during our four-day stay. A little bit of an inconvenience. Also, the power went out for 7 hours at one point... a huge inconvenience for a group of 12 as we had no running water or functioning bathrooms during that time. Otherwise, it was lovely! We would 100% come stay again.
Manager response:
Hi, Anna! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Little Bear Lodge and are pleased to say the issue you experienced has been resolved. We hope to see you again!

Great trip, cute house and beautiful property.

The house was a Perfect fit for our party and then some. We had more than enough sleeping accommodations. 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms for the adults as well as a bathroom and room filled with beds for the kiddos to share. There was a Hide-a-bed but we didn't need it.

The kitchen was equipped with pretty much anything we needed with utensils and cookware. There were lots of Games, Movies and plenty of yard to keep everyone occupied with our personal yard games.

We walked to the Skyskomish River and drove the 5+ Mile Rocky Terrain drive to Lake Elizabeth; So there were lots of Beautiful places to explore, take awesome pictures and great swim areas near by.

The Property is very Tranquil and Peaceful, I was able to sit outside in a lawn chair one day to nothing but the Sun beating on my face, a breeze blowing by, sound of birds chirping and the rolling movement of the river running down the road....such a perfect way to recharge.

We visited the town of Skyskomish to take pictures by the Railroad and go to the Railroad Museum which was tons of fun, the kids LOVED it. The towns Sky Deli & Pizza across the bridge has excellent sandwiches.

We also visited the Espresso Stand right outside the Town of Index to see the Harry & the Henderson Statue and Zeke's Drive-In Gold Bar for some Awesome Hamburgers, Fries & Shakes.

The house is about 20 minutes from Stevens Pass Slopes, so it would be a Great house for a Ski Trip...Especially because the Driveway would be a perfect snow sled hill if ther was snow at the house. There are a TON of other scenic sites and hikes to visit as well that we didnt attempt because we have smaller children. The house was equipped with a couple different maps to display the oodles of scenic options that were available to explore.

There is a Beautiful Rock Jumping Swim Area on the left side of HWY 2 on the way to Gold Bar but it gets flooded with people especially on a hot day. Plan to park on a VERY narrow shoulder and then need to walk down a busy highway to get to it. It seems VERY popular though so it is probably a Great Attraction if you have older kids, we didn't go there because of our littles.....but my inner child definitely wanted to :-)

Overall it was an Excellent Trip, we could have done waaay more but the activities we got to take part in was just what we all needed. We definitely look forward to booking a trip either this winter or next summer.

We truly Appreciate all the efforts put into Creating an Aaamazing House Setting for our Perfect Family Getaway! No Joke...My Kids didnt want to go home!

Thank You So Much for an Outstanding Stay,
<3 The Gregory & The Siebel Families

Awesome little place that’s off the beaten path.

Love how tucked away this spot is. The yard is totally surrounded by trees. If you are looking to get away from the city this cabin is a great option.
Deanna . Aug 2018
We rented this house 4 nights. Four adults and 2 teens. It was absolutely perfect. Plenty of room, and privacy, for everyone. The setting is gorgeous, the decor inside is pleasant, and the peace and tranquility was wonderful.

My girlfriend and our friends had a wonderful stay! We chose this remote cabin to get away from the hubbub of the city for the 4th of July weekend and it was perfect. Ample sleeping for everyone and the game room in the basement was great to hang out in. Also- the 10 minute walk to the nearby river was a huge perk. Would love to come back here.
