We are impressed with this Vacasa vacation home! It was clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed for an extended stay. The bed was so comfortable. There was also a salt water pool and a private beach with lots of amenities such as free parking, umbrellas, chairs and BBQ's. We really enjoyed our vacation and want to thank Doug, Jenna and Chris at Vacasa, for helping make our experience enjoyable, thank you!

A Place in the Pines is an excellent 1-bedroom condo with a beautiful view of the golf course from the screen porch. Well maintained, comfortable bed and living room sofa sleeper. Wifi worked excellent while sneaking in some work while on vacation. Kitchen is fully stocked including salt, pepper, and coffee filters. The owner even goes the extra mile to include a soft and hard sided cooler, pool noodles, and beach/pool towels. The free shuttle to the Bonita Beach was an awesome perk. The condo has access to wonderful walking trails and is close enough to walk to the market/restaurant/shop area with one of the best Saturday morning Farmer's Market we've ever been to. Highly recommend a stay at A Place in the Pines.

Beautiful...

The property is located in Bonita Bay, a beautiful gated community with wonderful walking and biking paths and access to a nearby private beach. That's the upside of this property.

The unit itself is adequate for two people, but nothing special. Being in the oldest development on the property, fixtures are pretty dated, particularly in the bathroom (old stained tub and shower curtain, crusty shower head, loose toilet seat, and noisy dirty ceiling exhaust fan with black mold on the ceiling). Basic amenities you find in most rentals were missing: no coffee maker (there was a Keurig, but no K-cups), no dishwasher or laundry soaps, no salt and pepper, and only one roll of toilet paper, so we had to buy a lot of things of which we only needed a small amount.

The worst part was how unclean the apartment was when we arrived. The bathtub was full of pubic hair and had a wet dirty washcloth in it. Surfaces like the top of the refrigerator and backs of the TVs were covered in a thick layer of dust. The tile floors throughout the unit were disgustingly filthy with a layer of grit and dust that turned the soles of your feet black and fuzzy just walking from the bedroom to the kitchen. Judging by the half inch thick coating of dust, large hairballs, and crusty old tissues (as well as a mummified dried up dead lizard) under the bed and other items of furniture, it was very clear that this unit had not been adequately cleaned in a long, long time. We had to go out and buy a mop and cleaning supplies and spent several hours moving all of the furniture out onto the screen porch to give the unit the cleaning it needed and make it tolerable for the remainder of our stay.

Unless the owners get a better cleaning service, we would not consider coming back to this unit, and, even so, we would look long and hard elsewhere for anything better first.
Manager response:
Hi, Paul! We are so glad you stayed with us and sincerely apologize if housekeeping missed the mark on preparing this home for you. We do take cleanliness very seriously and have high standards for our team to meet. One of the staff that prepared your home is no longer with us, and we have followed-up with the others. The tile floors are scheduled for a professional cleaning. Maintenance will be taking care of the stained tub, shower curtain, shower head, toilet seat, and ceiling fan. We hope to have a chance to impress you in the future!

Nice place for a short get away Needs some updating in a few areas but overall a comfortable place

While this condo was cute, it had some issues. Lighting in bathroom and kitchen is fluorescent with two different bulbs in kitchen, and the bathroom light sometimes wouldn't turn on. I needed to put the small lamp in kitchen but then the bulb burned out. Smoke alarm started beeping, due to worn battery. The blinds are somewhat difficult to open and the carpeting in bedroom was dirty. There is just one bathroom and it's through the bedroom. Kitchen is fully equipped, small coffee maker. On the up side, it is very nicely located, patio facing pond, private. Pool very nearby and quiet. Plenty of walking trails. If you want to go to the beach, be sure to take the bus, (which comes every hour) as there is very limited parking along Bonita Beach. All in all, it was a pleasant vacation, however, the condo could use a little work.
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay here. The battery in the smoke detector has been changed, and the blinds were found working upon inspection. Maintenance will be handling the lights and bulbs. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us during your stay so we can help you be more comfortable. We hope to see you again!
