This was a very nice home that is private minus the need for blinds on the kitchen window. It's very quiet in the neighborhood. There was a cockroach that visited the bed, but this is because Vacasa didn't have the place exterminated properly even though this was requested before the trip. It's not the owner's fault. The local property contact refused to give any type of discount because a photo was not sent of the cockroach (yep, completely unfair and ridiculous), so this is what you will be dealing with. Only rent from Vacasa in Kiawah if you can't find something with another property company. The resort will treat you much better. Vacasa Kiawah is always a last choice for us, and this experience was a reminder of why.

The house was very comfortable and wonderfully decorated.

Beds and bathrooms were nice. The living room furniture was in terrible shape. The sofa cushion was so worn out, it hung over the front of the sofa. It was so uncomfortable no one could sit on it. It appeared that one of the living room chairs had been damaged and it was put in the master bedroom closet. A chair from one of the bedrooms had been moved into the living room to replace it. Hardly any cabinet space in kitchen for food storage. Plus, there was a serious ant problem in the kitchen. We had to put all food in plastic bags to keep the ants out. Several light bulbs were burnt out and needed to be replaced. I did not receive a contact number for the local property manager and was not able to contact anyone for several days in regards to the ant problem. Considering the cost of renting this unit and based on the condition of the furniture, I would not rent this unit again.

Seconds to the beach seconds to the river. Clean beds and house. Planning on staying again

This home offered plenty of space to relax and enjoy the wooded surroundings of Inlet Cove. It was tastefully decorated, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the screened in porch had a nice sitting area for enjoying the one afternoon/evening of rain that we had during our week’s stay. We also appreciated the ample seating in the living room with great lighting that could be adjusted for many purposes and the big screen smart tv with access to several apps and channels.

This home is a short walk or bike ride to the beach and public park.

Updated and clean. Close to the beach and river.

1. The gate code did not work. The prior several guests had the same issue (see VRBO reviews) yet this has not yet been corrected.

2. House was absolutely filthy.
- Dirt, hairballs and clipped toenails on floor.
- dirty tissues, dust, food and candy wrappers under sofa and beds and food under coffee table.
- large nasty stain on sofa.
- Dirty pots, pans, dishes and utensils.
- fuzz/dust falling off ceiling fans.
- poorly draining shower and sink. I had to pull a slimy rat sized hairball out of shower drain myself.

3. No hot water for almost 4 days because the propane tank ran out. Unacceptable.

4. Ants in kitchen.

Overall a pretty gross experience. Never again with this company. Will only stick to Sweetgrass managed properties.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us Jennifer! We apologize for the gate code communication and cleanliness issues you encountered during your time with us. We have worked closely with our local staff to ensure the home has been deep cleaned, the correct gate code has been established, and that all repairs were made as needed. We apologize for the inconveniences you faced and hope for a chance to impress you in the future!

The description of this property is a little misleading. While it is gated, it is not behind the Kiawah Island gates. Also, it needs to be pointed out that the beach you use is public (because you aren’t behind the gates). That wasn’t a huge problem until Saturday when there was a massive line of cars to get into the beach (where you have to pay to park). It also needs to be pointed out that pool was closed and no one told us. That information would have been helpful since we were traveling with 3 kids. There were no batteries in the Roku remote and still didn’t work after we bought new ones and put them in. We also had issues with the gate. The code to get in changes on Saturdays and Vacasa did not give us a new code. We were stuck for a long time at the gate until someone delivering bikes was kind enough to give us the new code. While this property was clean and comfortable, it was not what we were expecting because of the location and inconveniences associated with it.
Manager response:
Hello, Whitney! Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the overall home itself. We apologize for the communication and amenity issues you encountered and have worked to repair the remote. Please know that it is never our intention to beguile or mislead our guests concerning the legitimacy of our listings. Our apologies for any misunderstanding surrounding the gated community or beach access. We make every effort on our listings to describe with accuracy what the expectations should be. We encourage all guests to call us with any concerns regarding the property or amenities. We hope to host you again in the future!

Our family of four needed a change of scenery during the pandemic! This cottage was the perfect choice - super clean, lots of room, comfy beds, and wonderfully decorated! We will definitely book again!

Home is nicely updated and clean. Inlet Cove is charming and offers considerable amenities. We walked to the uncrowded beach daily and saw beautiful sunsets from the dock on the river. Needs a screen in the master bedroom to allow fresh air.
Bess G. Jul 2019
We loved the unit, where we stayed it was perfect for the four of us! First time we stayed at inlet cove and we loved the pool and the river overlook. We went to see the sun set every night at the river overlook and saw tons of dolphin.

Check in and out was extremely easy and we were pleased with the neighborhood we rented in.
CLYDE D. Aug 2017
The check-in was easy, the one housekeeping oversight that we reported was handled promptly, beds were comfortable, access to beach and pools was OK, neighborhood was quiet and secure.

Our first choice rental was unavailable due to a mold problem. We we relocated to another home which was nice but had several issues that was less than satisfactory.
Manager response:
We're very sorry for the inconvenience during your stay. These issues occurred under a previous management company. Our local teams are working with that company to learn from feedback and fix any issues. We just started managing this unit and would love for you to try staying with Vacasa in the future to experience our world-class service.
