We had a great time relaxing by the fireplace at the Rising Trout Lodge. Very tranquil and had everything you would need.

Rising Trout is an absolutely adorable cabin. Everything you need for an awesome get away. The trail to the creek is a little steep, but not outrageously hard. This is a great cabin tucked away on a private mountain side making for the perfect secluded vacation! Love this place!

If you're looking for isolation, this is the place. One almost needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the property. Once there, it is well maintained. The one thing I would do is re-screen the back porch. There are a few holes and tears in the screen, allowing bugs, wasp, etc. to enter. Good value for the money. Need better instructions on how to work the Dish TV. Better pillows and bedding wouldn't be bad either. Besides that, it was a great place to stay. There was some miscommunications between the management company and the housekeepers. Unfortunately out cabin was not made when we arrived at 4:30. However, Mountain Laurel had people there in 30 minutes to clean the cabin.

We stayed at the Rising Trout Lodge specifically for good trout fishing. The cabin definitely lived up to its name. It was some of the finest trout fishing I’ve experienced. I’m surprised more people have not really commented on just how great the fishing is there on Fightingtown Creek. The walk back up the hill would not be ideal for older folks or people out of shape. I enjoyed the workout personally. The cabin is beautiful and was very clean on our arrival. The price is fair and I would recommend this cabin and company to others!
