Expansive dog-friendly home w/private sauna, room for 32!

Traveling with a group for a special occasion, holiday, or fun ski trip? This enormous Government Camp vacation rental is the perfect place for a crowd, offering 10 bedrooms to sleep up to 32 guests! Fantastic features like a private sauna, multiple living rooms and kitchens, and a dog-friendly attitude make this the perfect getaway for family, corporate retreats, or friends!

Little Trail Lodge is in the heart of Oregon ski county, just 20 miles to three major resorts including Mount Hood Skibowl, Mount Hood Meadows, and Timberline. In summer, your just four miles from Trillium Lake and surrounded by hiking and mountain biking country in the Mount Hood National Forest!

This lodge is gigantic yet personal with carved wood accent furniture, patterned curtains, and decorative throw pillows. Bunk rooms might remind little ones of summer camp and adults of their days in the college dorm!

The impressive Oregon vacation rental boasts 10 bedrooms, laundry facilities, and four baths spread out over four levels. Groups have plenty of space to spread out, in fact, it's made up of two separate sections - which can each be rented individually if you're traveling with a smaller group - so it's ideal for two families or for multiple generations to have their own space.

The second and third floors contain their own living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, and decks. One floor can host a weekend family board game tournament, while a group on the other floor can snuggle around the wood fireplace! With so much space, preparing a holiday meal or participating in team-building activities will be a breeze!

This home offers great media entertainment, including TVs with DVD players (no cable) and WiFi. An upstairs game room features a foosball table and wet bar so you can mix cocktails or score a goal. After a long day playing (or on the slopes), unwind thanks to a dry wood sauna!

With a grand total of four queen-size beds and 26 twin-size beds (most of which are arranged in bunks), this enormous house can sleep up to 32. Don't leave your furry friends behind - you're welcome to bring your dogs with you for an additional nightly fee.

Outside is ideal for entertaining with a covered back deck (including a gas grill) and an enormous upstairs open-air loft. Whether hosting a Fourth of July barbecue, a square dance upstairs, or simply soaking up the fresh mountain air, you'll cherish the outdoor space.

Beyond your private ski lodge you can walk to dinner or pints within a mile of Government Camp. Bring kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for days at Trillium Lake or make the popular hike into Mirror Lake. Pack your fishing poles for afternoons at Frog Lake or hike into beautiful Ramona Falls! In winter, your outdoor options are just as varied so long as you have a thirst for snowy adventure and a fire roaring back home!

This huge house is close to all of the area's best activities and can host a large gathering, so bring all your loved ones to this Mt. Hood vacation rental for your next getaway! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Parking Notes: Street parking is available. During snow season be careful of parking on the side of the house because of falling snow and ice from the roof.

We needed a bit place to accommodate all of our family attending the Hope on the Slope Ride For the Cure event. This house worked very well for us! It was close to Ski bowl and town. We enjoyed our weekend!

Little Trail Lodge in Government Camp excited our expectations in terms of commendations and overall experienced.

What we/I loved about Little Trail Lodge:
* 2-minute walk to the village (liquor, grocery, ski shops, restaurants, bars, etc.)
*5-minute shuttle service to Mount Hood Ski Bowl
*15-minute drive to Mount Hood Timberline
*30-minutes to Mount Hood Meadows
*Perfect for our massive 22 powder seekers

Only issue:
Couldn't find the dumpster for the bags of trash we had.
There was a broken/cracked window on the 2nd floor that was letting a small amount of cold air in the cabin =(.

Other than that - The cabin was perfect and would defiantly come back again if we ever make it back to Mount Hood!
Manager response:
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review! The garbage can be placed in the bins in the front entryway and we have notified our local staff of the cracked window so they can repair it as soon as possible. We can't wait to host you again soon!

Blender, pots and pans of all sizes, colander, plates, mugs, silverwear - even a cookie sheet... our large group had absolutely everything we needed. It was warm, comfortable, clean, and convenient. The linens were nice and warm. The towels white and clean. We will absolutely be back for our next large group trip. THANK YOU!

Great location.

We appreciated staying there, and enjoyed Government Camp. The one downside--and it's one that mattered for us--is that there isn't a great room or large living space for everyone to be together very easily. For a group of 20-30+ (as many as it sleeps), you won't want to expect spending much time together as a whole group. And for the investment (~5k for the long Thanksgiving weekend), we might have been better off renting one of the places with fewer beds but a larger great room, and then renting a couple of other Government Camp rooms for beds. (That would have been both cheaper and better.)

The purpose of our trip was a wake for our recently deceased mother, and being together was important. (For other guests or other occasions, being together might not be as important.) We asked to scope the place in advance to figure out how we would arrange being together, but were told that was not allowed. That would have given us a chance to better plan meal seating and such. There is porch space, but in the winter (or late November) they are not usable (without tented walls, which we didn't have. Might have brought such a thing had we better scoped.)

In any event, we'll know for next time. We did enjoy our stay, and don't want to sound unduly negative. Three stars.

We had 30 people stay here for a school trip. The lodge is in a really convenient location. It was a 3 minute walk to the convenient store in case we needed something, and it was right next to a hill, which was nice for some of my kids that wanted to do some sledding. The place was also clean which is always a plus. Overall, this was a great place for accommodating a large group of people.

I would recommend making use of the kitchens to cook meals if anybody wants to come with a bunch of kids or students, instead of going out to eat. We went out to eat one night and my students all thought the restaurants around were too expensive. Definitely expect hiked up prices for a resort area.

We had a good stay. There was room for everyone in our family. Vacasa kept us notified that it was ready for us early. Price was a little high but it met our needs so 4 of 5 stars

Our ski team athletes and chaperones had a great time!

Rocking chairs uncomfortable and trash was full on the fosball table as advertised ... but a great location and lots of room for your friends.

Property was neat, clean and well kept. Everything worked. Water remained hot and heating throughout lodge was good. I would have given 5 stars if the price was right. It was our groups only option and unfortunately, we paid for it. I actually feel taken advantage of for what we paid so if I ever rented agin, I would certainly avoid peak times.

We had a very nice time with our whole family and would certainly stay there again.
There was about 26 of us, kids & adults.

We stayed with a group of 30 people and this house was perfect! There was plenty of space and enough beds for everyone to have a spot. The location was wonderful. Close to downtown Government camp and close to trails. The house had wonderful amenities including a Foosball table and sauna. It was clean and ready for our arrival. I definitely recommend this cabin!
