Elegant & massive, dog-friendly house w/mountain views & large furnished deck

Enjoy this little piece of heaven on earth where rural meets elegance at Eagle Ridge Chalet! This is a four-level home and the owner lives in the lower portion of the home but guests will have the full top three levels to themselves. The lower level has the main bedroom with a queen bed, a private deck, a wood stove, and a living room with a futon and pull-out sofa. On the middle (main) level, you'll find an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and marvelous wood touches throughout. Two huge decks add comfort and space to the equation. There you'll come across an outdoor dining area with a grill–dining with garden views is a great perk of this retreat. The living area is a great spot to unwind, gather with your friends, or just spend time by yourself lost in a good book. Turn on the flatscreen TV and watch your favorite movie with delicious snacks in hand. The wood-burning fireplace will keep everyone warm–cold days and nights won't stand a chance here! Channel your inner chef, thanks to the spacious, fully-equipped kitchen. Tall windows will let in plenty of sunlight and forest views will be easy to admire.

What's nearby:
This dog-friendly retreat will help you get away from it all, but you won't be too far away from the city in case you'd like to enjoy your fair share of city life. You'll be 11.5 miles from the charming downtown area of Port Angeles where you can watch ships in the marina, discover unique shops, and dine in local restaurants. You better pack your most comfortable pair of shoes as additional options for fun here include walking tours of the city, museums and galleries, and whale-watching excursions. Nearby downtown is the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, a 38-acre campus offering educational exhibits, nature trails, and backpacking information. Hiking is a great option too; explore the jaw-dropping trails around Lake Crescent. Less than 30 miles south is the Hurricane Ridge Ski Area. Winter sports enthusiasts will be happy with all of the options they can try there. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and more! And for a fun day trip, head over to Forks, Washington to see the town where author Stephenie Meyer based her Twilight book series, just 56.6 miles southwest.

We enjoyed our time at Eagle Ridge Chalet. The cabin is open and bright with unique decorative pieces. We spent most of our time out exploring the area but the chalet was a comfortable space to return to each evening.

I booked this home as a last-minute surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. I did not read the description carefully enough because I was so in awe of the photos that the owner would be living in the home while we are there, so we felt a bit awkward. I thought it meant he would be living in a separate unit below the rental, but it is all one. Although he will be on the bottom floor it is a pretty open concept cabin. I will say though, Joe is very nice and as others have mentioned, he is very nice. Also, another thing to note is if you need WiFi, I would suggest bringing a hot spot. I had a hard time working from this home and had to use my phone which greatly increased my phone bill. We received tons of inspiration of the cabin and building one of our own one day.

My husband, pup, and I enjoyed our weeklong stay at the Eagle Ridge Chalet. It is up on a hill with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets overlooking the mountains. The house is architecturally stunning -- really well built and good bones. We chose to sleep in the "perch" area up the ladder, but probably not accessible by all who may have mobility challenges (there is also a downstairs sleeping option). The house has character - a lot of decor collected over the years - some goes, some does not. We were here for a WFH change of scenery. Be sure to bring your own mifi for WiFi access as the house is equipped with limited wifi (cell phone service is strong, however). The kitchen is well stocked with a hodge-podge of items - if you have some favorite pots/pans/utensils you like, bring your own.

Our stay at the cabin was very memorable. It's a gorgeous cabin with all the amenities available. The pantry was impressively stocked with spices and basic food items. The deck as a peaking view of the mountains which we enjoyed thoroughly. It also has a grill and a chiminea. Joe, the owner, was also very nice and answered all our questions. He lives in the property but we barely saw him.

This house is beautiful and exactly what you want in a mountain cabin getaway. We made fires every night and cooked every meal-the kitchen is fully stocked (but could use some updated pots and pans-the non stick is in pretty bad condition). We followed the directions given to us instead of GPS and found the house in the most dense fog at night-so if i can do it in those conditions, anyone can! The views were gorgeous and you are only 15 minutes from town and even 18 minutes to the beach. The owner does live downstairs in a separate first floor 'apartment', but we never saw him outside of check in and he was super kind to get a fire rolling for us in the work burning stove one night while we were out. We will stay here again in the future, thank you for having us.

We really enjoyed the excellent weather and fantastic mountain views. So cozy! . The house is unique and could use a bit of cleaning but it was great for our family. Thanks for having us.

The house was situated in such a beautiful place and the house itself is so lovely. Joe was friendly and helpful but otherwise left us to our own devices. We were really grateful for our time there.

My husband and I spent four nights in April at the Mountain Top, our first visit to the Olympic Peninsula. We absolutely loved the house: the setting is unreal, with incredible mountain views, and it is filled with art and books that reflect the owner's interests and travels. We are familiar with using a wood stove, and enjoyed warming up our space both with the wood stove and the beautiful fireplace in the main living room. Owner downstairs left us to ourselves but also happy to give us suggestions for hikes and exploring, which we really appreciated. I think that this wonderful spot best suits people who love to get away from it all, enjoy a unique and special home, and not necessarily expect everything to be in perfect condition! For us, it was the perfect spot to explore the peninsula, and reflected the Alpine feel of the area. I think my favorite memory might be of waking up in the night and watching the star lit sky through the sky lights over our heads, pure magic.

We had a great time at this chalet! The views are absolutely stunning and the location is wonderful! We were able to see Hurricane Ridge, Marymere Falls, and Sol Duc Falls and then come home to a relaxing place! A bit outdated, however we had a wonderful stay. When booking this chalet, make sure you are comfortable with the owner living onsite right below where you are staying

The home is absolutely beautiful, and you can tell that the owner takes great pride and care of this mountain home. The natural wood fireplace and wood stove are great to cozy up to, and the owner was more than generous with kindling, fire starters, and wood. It's a great opportunity to get away and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommended!
