We booked our stay here last minute over 4th of July weekend. The location leaves a bit to be desired since it’s off a pretty busy road with no sidewalk or path. The next door neighbor shares the same driveway, which is fine, but don’t expect privacy. The beach isn’t as accessible as the description would have you believe. Again, it’s on a busy road with no sidewalk, or even a path to get there unless you walk against traffic or get in your car and drive. Overall, the place was clean, and as long as your expectations aren’t high, it’s a typical Whidbey island-style, functional cabin. The only thing I would say is that it’s overpriced for what it is, which explains why it was the only place we could find that was still available last minute for the holiday weekend.

There were plenty of blankets and pillows to choose from. It’s well insulated and in the middle of beautiful nature. Can’t wait to come back!

This house was extremely clean. Very happy with the cleanliness of the home.

The home was clean and a good location to drive elsewhere. The best of the nearby beaches was Double Bluff. Easy access and sandy beach. The beach advertised is the listing is only good for watercraft put-ins. The beach at the community park down the street is only accessible at high tide.
The homes upkeep was not good. Overgrown weeds and grass prevented us from using the yard at all. The steps and porch overhang are either unfinished or falling apart. Not sure it’s safe.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Christina. The homeowner is working on getting the steps and overhang corrected; it is taking some time due to supply availability. Lawn care is getting addressed. Hopefully we can host you again!

We had a quiet restful weekend in this little get away amongst the trees. The rental was very comfortable with all amenities needed for a couple days of island exploring. We had deer roaming the property looking for snacks under the fruit trees, a two minute walk to Holmes harbor to check the water conditions, an eagle roosting nearby in a tall pine tree and with no clouds there is terrific star gazing on the spacious deck. There are so many things to explore on Whidbey and this location makes it easy to get to nearby wineries, farmers market, clam beaches and seasonal festivals in towns like Coupeville and Langley. I'd recommend this cozy cabin on your next visit to Whidbey Island!

We enjoyed our stay, but we did not want to use the wood stove as there were no instructions anywhere for its use or for the other heaters either. Also, one of the steps on the porch is wobbly- maybe a safety issue. Other than that it was fine.
