Quirky little house in a quiet area - older house with unlevel floors, strange basement - but all useable areas. Beds were very comfy, appliances were new. Obvious recent remodel. No instructions how to turn on/off the gas heater so the house was too warm (did not seem to be controlled by wall thermostat). Could have been cleaner but was reasonably clean for the price and dog policy. Final conclusion - great place for the price and dogs! We'd stay again.
Manager response:
Thank you, James, for your feedback! We are happy you enjoyed this home. Please know that your feedback is essential, and we have passed your comments along to our local manager, who will work with the homeowner to make any updates. We genuinely hope to have the opportunity to impress you in the future!

A comfortable space for our crew that included kids and a dog. The location was close to everything we wanted to do, including hiking, biking, parks, and enjoying restaurants. The house had everything we needed and I'd recommend it!

This cozy bungalow offered the perfect retreat for our weekend ladies getaway (4 ladies + 2 dogs)! Walking distance to the Les Schwab Amphitheater and Deschutes River Trail (.6 miles). We encountered a deer in the driveway during our stay and enjoyed the blue jays while drinking Sisters Coffee on the front porch.

Highlights of our stay included the High Desert Museum and Northwest Crossing Saturday Market! Will definitely be back, already planning our winter retreat!

Our weekend was a bit spoiled by the smoke so we had to stay in the house more than expected. The house was great. Only two issues were the doors would not close all the way so the dogs could easily push them open, especially the bathroom. Also since there was smoke and we were trapped indoors it would have been nice to have more of a fan in the living room/dinning/kitchen areas to help circulate the air better. All in all we tried to make the best of it.
Manager response:
Hi, Heidi! We're sorry to see the haze in the air made your stay less enjoyable. We have provided an additional fan and ensured all doors are closing properly. Thank you!

The house was clean and worked well for my family of four and my two dogs. The kitchen was well appointed, and the AC units and two of the bedrooms were a welcome respite from the heat. It would’ve been nice to have a screen door on the front door to get a cross breeze for the rest of the house though. Would be a place I would stay again.

Pretty central location but you do hear the traffic a bit.

Place was clean and had everything we needed to stay.

Listed as having no AC but we were happy to find that it had a couple of window units that worked pretty well.

We would stay here again.

Taft House was a perfect base from which to explore Bend and all the amazing local outdoor areas. It was very clean and well-appointed. We felt very comfortable and had everything we needed for a long weekend.

We (myself and 2 teen boys) had a lovely stay at the Bend House April 8-11, 2021. It was perfectly located to get out of town for trail exploring and to all the downtown Old MIll district shops and food exploring. We loved the stay and how accommodating Bend is for dogs! The Bend House has a fenced yard to allow for midnight dog breaks without worry of wandering off. The full sized laundry came in handy with boys and sweaty hikes. The back room was an oasis for myself, it`s set away from the gaming (we brought our PS4, it was super easy to connect to the TV) that occured in the living room till late/early hours, I was able to get a full nights sleep in a comfy bed undisturbed. I look forward to another stay at the Bend House in the near future.

`My partner and I stayed here with our 11-year old Jack Russell in March 2021. I’ll start with the location- PERFECT! It has easy access to freeways for travel, minutes to town and activities and it is at the end of a quiet street with a driveway for parking. The outside is adorable, nice fenced yard with big trees and a firepit, it truly feels like a retreat! I was amazed at how spacious it felt inside, the furniture and finishes are so thoughtful, I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. There are plenty of rooms and space for a large family or friends and couples to stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need making it feel like a home vs hotel or camping. With so much to do and see in the area, we didn’t want to waste it inside but I’m not going to lie, it was so inviting with a charming gas stove, Netflix/Hulu access and comfy blankets, it was hard to leave. One of the things I liked the most was that you could see the mountain peaks from the kitchen window, what a beautiful surprise! If you are looking and comparing homes in Bend, look no further, this place is a winner!” Jess Martin

Even though it was just an overnight, this place has a wonderful mixture of space & comfort, modern but classic. Easy to get to, close to everything & all you could ask for. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in having a Bend experience.

I loved this charming bungalow in Bend. It has two spacious bedrooms located at other ends of the house as well as a bunk bed room. It was well appointed, cute, and the beds were very comfortable. It has a nice side entry door for taking off ski boots and gear, a well equipped kitchen (with gas), and a nice big front yard. I went in the winter and the gas fireplace in the living room did a great job keeping me warm. My favorite nearby food was The Sparrow Bakery and CRUX brewing and it was a healthy walk to the riverfront and old mill area but close enough. I will be back!!

“Three comfy bedrooms with a big front yard! It’s on a quiet cul-de-sac but still right in town. Convenient access to breweries and shopping. We enjoyed hiking at Tumalo Falls and hiking along the Deschutes River. Will definitely plan to stay here again for our next Bend trip!
