Dog-friendly Sutton Knob cottage with long-range Pisgah views and wood fireplace

Known as Maple Cottage, this modern home is ideal for indoor/outdoor entertaining. Nestled amid trees and overlooking Pisgah National Forest, this home has custom-built features throughout. Highlights include a large screened porch with a gas grill. DuPont State Forest and downtown Brevard are both a short drive away.

As part of the remarkable Sutton Knob community, you'll enjoy shared access to a secluded 94-acre getaway with ponds, waterfalls, and walking paths. Dog-friendly and a mountain biker's dream, you'll also love the miles of scenic trails through serene hardwood forests. Large picture windows and cathedral ceilings allow plenty of natural light to filter through the open living area. Stretch out on the sectional while watching a film on the smart TV. Or you can simply marvel at the stunning long-range mountain views available from this home. The wood-burning fireplace adds a warm ambience. A laptop-friendly desk area is perfect for sending quick emails.

Whip up delectable dishes in the sparkling kitchen, fitted with a full suite of stainless steel appliances, including a French-door fridge. Helpful gadgets include a microwave and a coffee maker. Three can perch at the center island, while the dining table seats six. Host a casual cookout on the screened porch, complete with a gas grill and a table for six. Completed in 2015, this 94-acre paradise puts the Land of Waterfalls on full display - mountain bike, go horseback riding, or meander past soaring forests and native wildflowers, and across crystal-clear waters ideal for fishing.

Stroll to the cascading waterfalls of Silver Creek, or head to the Meadows - a pavilion and peaceful community park with picture-perfect ponds. Or hike the ridge crest and summit, where the Blue Ridge Escarpment towers over the Pisgah National Forest.

We enjoyed the two different trails and community area in walking distance. The house is very well equipped. The only issue we had was ant activity in almost every room. Might want to bring some traps.

Absolutely gorgeous cabin! Less than 20 minutes to town, close to the National park and less than an hour to Asheville. Clean, beautiful and dog friendly. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely book it again!

While the house was as advertised in terms of views and amenities there were issues. The internet never worked, while we could connect to the internet but the password would not work. Vacasa was initially responsive but never followed through and never offered a solution to the internet issues over four days. Also upon arrival, the guest room beds were completely unmade with the linens (maybe dirty) piled on the beds. All of the towels were in a dirty pile in the bathtub and we had to wash them ourselves. Vacasa did offer to have housekeeping come and fix the issue but we had already fixed the issues ourselves before the housekeeping could come.
Manager response:
Adam, thank you for the review after your stay. We are so glad you enjoyed Maple Cottage. We apologize for the cleaning oversights and for the wifi issues. We understand that this had a negative impact on your stay. We do hope you will choose to book with us for your next stay. Thank you!

Great well-equipped house! Views from the living room and patio are gorgeous. Drive up to the house from the hwy has a lots of turns (not too surprising since it is in the mountains) but definitely adjusted our schedule so that we were only doing it once a day.

Being able to text the management company 24 hrs a day and get a response in under 5 minutes was impressive. They were always courteous and helpful.

Internet was a bit slow. Ok for basic emails but if trying to work remotely it would be challenging.

Loved that we had access to the garage.

Would definitely stay here again!

This house was perfect for us. We really liked the location and especially the views. It was clean when we arrived and the property manager was very helpful. We’d definitely stay here again.
