Cozy Creekside Gem w/ Gorgeous Forest View - Dog-Friendly - 0.5 Miles to Lift

The epitome of cozy-yet-convenient Lake Tahoe living, this atmospheric home in the woods of Tahoe City enjoys an unbeatable setting and location. You'll be right alongside a seasonal, waterfall-like creek, with just half a mile between you and the Sherwood Express lift on the backside of Alpine Meadows.

This home is located in a quiet and private woodland neighborhood, just down the road from the ski lift. There are excellent hiking trails to be found at the back of the property, as well as a seasonal creek running by that can be clearly heard between spring and fall.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a living space on multiple levels, with wonderful views of the woods from every window and cozy sitting areas around every turn. Descend the stairs and come into the open kitchen, dining, and living area - an incredibly inviting place to relax after a day spent hiking or skiing. There's a sitting area with a sectional sofa, a wall-mounted flatscreen TV, and a wood-burning fireplace, as well as a dining room table where you can share meals and play games with an unobstructed view of the trees. The kitchen enjoys the same view, as well as stainless steel appliances and bar seats for four.

Beyond the glass door is a beautiful entertaining deck, where you can sip your morning coffee as birds come to feed, barbecue on the gas grill beneath LED string lights, and take in the sights of the forest and the sounds of the creek. At night, you'll find the bedrooms perfectly arranged for privacy. There's one bedroom with an en suite bathroom on its own lower level and another bedroom with an en suite bathroom on the middle level. A third sleeping space is just up the stairs, in an open, loft-style room.

We love staying in this home, the kitchen, lounge and dining area are all connected to make a really cozy living space. While the living area make it feel really cabin like the bedrooms are all spaced out on different levels one being in a newer addition further away, this make is a great space to share with people. All the bedrooms had their own bathrooms as well, which is rare in an older cabin. There's a small but perfect sauna off one of the bathrooms that we enjoyed. The real benefit of this place is that it backs up to the forest and a creek runs just behind the house. You can snowshoe right out the back door down to Ward Creek or the Rim Trail. The down side is that is that if you are skiing at Alpine and need to get to the front lodge it's a bit of a drive, and it's high in elevation so there is more snow. Everything was clean and in good condition except the lighting, there were several bulbs out and the light of the dining table did not work, a light in the bedroom was also non functioning. There was no firewood supplied and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook, but no condiments/spices foil, wax paper etc. Not a problem but it's good to know in advance what to bring.

This was a great place for two small families to stay. Lots of separate space as well as a nice area to congregate as a larger group. Great location for snowboarding!

We had a wonderful experience staying in this home. The place has everything you need. The unique layout was perfect for our group. The view of the forest from most rooms in the house was gorgeous, especially when it’s snowing. Our stay was during a “blizzard,” and you definitely need to have a 4x4 or AWD with good ground clearance. Luckily we had both.

This house is very good for family vacation. The room is so nice and private. And it has a great forest backyard.

Three of us had a wonderful time at this clean, comfortable and well stocked cabin. It is located in a quite neighborhood with plenty of places to hike/walk. Would recommend this home.
