Secluded cabin w/ shared seasonal pool, wood-burning fireplace & stunning views
Planning a getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains with your loved ones? If you stay at this charming three-bedroom cabin, your group will enjoy standard home conveniences in addition to fun extras such as a shared seasonal pool and breathtaking views of the mountains and forests.
Located right near the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this cabin is perfect for a group who plans to spend a lot of time outdoors. Townsend and Pigeon Forge are nearby, as well, so dining and entertainment can be reached within a few minutes' drive.
From the outside, this vacation rental appears to be a traditional cabin, but inside, the decor is tasteful and modern. Step through the front door to find yourself in a large, open living area with vaulted ceilings. Notice the stone fireplace and the flatscreen cable TV, as well as the comfy furnishings.
The well-appointed, galley-style kitchen features standard appliances in addition to a dishwasher, so cooking for your group (and cleaning up afterward) is simple. Sit down to eat at the small kitchen table or, for bigger groups, the dining room table located in the den area.
Stretch out after dinner and admire the view from the wall of windows. Use the complimentary wireless internet to send a picture to your friends and family back home. There's also a private deck with space for outdoor dining, as well as a gas grill.
At night, up to six guests can sleep comfortably in the home's three master suites. That's right - each room features a king-size bed, a flatscreen TV, and an en suite bathroom. One suite is located on the main floor, while the other two can be found on the lower level. The lower level has an additional room featuring a twin-size day bed and a pull-out twin-size trundle. There's also a washer and dryer on this level to help keep your vacation running smoothly.
During the summer, enjoy a few laps in the shared seasonal pool (available from Memorial Day to Labor Day and a short drive away), then head to Great Smoky Mountains National Park for hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding. Keep your eyes out for wildflowers and wildlife as well as historic buildings from the 1800s.
For more leisurely pursuits, check out the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in nearby Townsend, or visit the Tuckaleechee Caverns. Head to Pigeon Forge for some retail therapy, or, if you're here in the winter, stop by Ober Gatlinburg for skiing and snowboarding as well as an alpine slide.

Great family vacations. Warm, very organized and amazing views. Thanks you for all. Milly
Loved the view and the spacious cabin.
The cabin is beautiful! Everything was in perfect condition! It was exactly what we were wanting!!!
spacious, comfortable beds
Beautiful views. Everything was clean. Enjoyed the games, browsing through the books and cd's. Had a great time.
Of all the cabins in which we have had the privilege to stay, Arthur's Retreat tops them all! The views from both the front and back if the cabin are nothing short of spetacular, and the cabin itself is spacious and very comfortable.
The cabin we usually rent in the Smokies was our favorite, but it was abruptly pulled from the rental program by the cabin's owner. That left us in "panic mode" just three weeks away from our trip, which had been planned for several months. When we found this cabin, we truly found our new favorite!
Great quiet location. Clean cabin with all essentials available. Great view.
Fun bear theme through out the cabin! Big rooms Great views comfortable tables nice beds good location
My friends and I had an awesome stay here at Arthur's Retreat. The view of the mountain was spectacular!! The cabin itself was very accommodating. We even saw a bear during our stay! FUN FUN FUN!!
We enjoyed our stay here and made good use of the deck. There are some items in the kitchen that could use a deep clean or replacement. The stove top is dirty/greasy and many of the cooking utensils and cookware had to be cleaned before use. The gas grill is in very poor shape and was very difficult to light, and burns unevenly. I would suspect that the owner has plans to replace it soon. Overall, it is a very nice home and we would return.
Quiet, comfortable cabin in great location with wonderful views
It is hard to truly rate this cabin as the cabin itself was nice and had amazing views! I definitely wouldn’t visit in the winter when there is potential ice or snow as the drive up is very steep. The cabin was pretty clean upon arrival. One thing we noticed was the vents would not stay open in a few of the rooms but mostly in one downstairs bedroom. They are spring loaded vents and I guess the springs had given out. The vents would randomly close at night causing the vent to close and the room to get very cold due to no heat coming through the vents. In the middle of our stay, the front door knob malfunctioned. The phone number on my emails was the main Vacasa office (not local. In fact it was several states away). I called multiple times finally leaving a voicemail. No call back after a few hours, I sent an email. After another few hours, I called again until I finally got through. The lady was very friendly and helpful. She said she would contact the maintenance department. An hour or two later the local office called. We met the maintenance guy back at the cabin and he knew exactly what the problem was as he had been called out for this problem before (3 times prior to our call). He then fixed the problem. The next day we were locked out from the outside due to the same problem. Called the office and they said the maintenance guy had left for the day and basically asked if we’d be ok until the next day. We didn’t have a choice so we dealt with it until the next day when our stay ended. Again, the cabin itself was good and had amazing views.
We would like to apologize for any problems this guest had with their rental. The door lock has been replaced, and we now have procedures in place to ensure our guests are not locked out. Thank you!
It rain Friday and Saturday, but the cabin was warm and cozy. Sunday the skies cleared and the view is great!!
Very comfortable and good views. Lots of seating options, well appointed including the kitchen. Seemed secluded even though there are a few other cabins nearby. Would definitely stay again
We had a great time at this unit! It was a little far from Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge (at least 20 min I think) but it's a very nice place and a good view and not too far from the "main" road. It was very nice to be able to go the opposite direction of the crowded Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and find other eating spots in Townsend. Definitely recommend this spot!
We especially appreciate the folks that helped us at Vacasa with each phone call (3, beginning with the reservation) whenever we had questions. we wanted to invite a few local family members to the cabin, but had read the instructions. we were very graciously told they were welcome. they just wanted to know since the parking is a little limited, in case any neighbors called in. we had a great family gathering one afternoon, and it just added to the special memories we shall always have of our stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Arthur's Retreat a great deal. Everything was first rate. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and there were plenty of dishes to serve elegant meals.
Two evenings, bears wandered through the yard as we sit above them on the patio protected by stout railings. How exciting! They paid no attention to us but we were thrilled to see them.

We loved this cabin! Very spacious with great views! Having 3 king bedrooms with each having their own bathroom was great too. Cabin was decorated very nice with plenty of seating, tv’s, decks, etc. Also, on two different occasions a mother bear and cubs walked by the side deck. Of course, they did not bother us and we kept our distance. We have been to the Smokies many times and never got this close to a bear. So exciting!!!
We would definitely rent this cabin again!!!! Great!!!!
Our family of 6 (2 adults & 4 teens) stayed here for a week mid-August 2017 and had an amazing stay! The house accommodated us well, with large bedrooms, each with its own bathroom which was an additional plus. One of the bathrooms has a laundry room off of it which definitely came in handy.
We enjoyed the back room off the kitchen the most ... amazing views to enjoy during breakfast, and in the evenings, we used the room for family game time. Of course, early evenings we especially loved sitting out on the side porch where there's total privacy, just views of woods. We were lucky to have seen a mother black bear and her cubs on 3 different occasions as well! It is a steep climb up on the last road before the entrance gate, but we soon got used to manuveuring that. The location of the house on a ridge shared with only 5 other houses (it being the last one) gave this rental an added plus for privacy & peace.
There's just so much to do in the area between hiking the Smokies, of which we got 3 good hikes in, and touring the local towns. Beautiful countryside! The only problem we had was locating the swimming pool. It's off to the left about a mile or twon back on the main road (the name of the place is Honeysuckle Meadows at 4005 Tomahawk Way).
Can't say enough good things about our stay. Absolutely loved it!!
For future guests you have to be careful with bears especially when you have BBQ because we had three bears surrounding us during our BBQ for dinner. One of them was standing on the front door watching us so we went inside and we didn't complete our BBQ. ): Also the summing pool picture's should be removed from Cabin profile because it's 7 minutes driving from the cabin to the summing pool. Other then that everything was fine.
Curvy drive to secluded cabin, but worth the drive (just make the drive in daylight). Enjoyed the seasonal porch and decks.... very relaxing. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 1 child. Kitchen was pretty well equipt with lots of dishes, most pots and pans you would need for cooking, but plan to bring all your own food and beverage... down to the condiments, salt, pepper, food wrap/baggies, coffee + filters, etc. The scenery is awesome, and the swing is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. We had the misfortune of the water pump in the well going out on our second day, so were without water.... and it could not be fixed for over 24 hours, so we had to leave and forfeit the last half of our vacation (bummer)! Maintainence kept us updated on the situation, and customer service followed up after we had checked out. We enjoyed the short time we were at the cabin.... good place to settle in and relax.
We sincerely apologize for the incident with the water pump and appreciate the patience this guest displayed. They were refunded for the nights they missed due to the situation.
We had a wide range of ages in our family and we ALL adored this cabin! The arrangement of sleeping areas, the two living areas, the many decks and the enormous screened windows overlooking the Cove made this cabin our perfect base camp for adventuring in the Smokies!
Nest in the hills (aka Arthur's Retreat) was a very nice cabin in a nice, gated area that was convenient to most attractions and areas. The cabin in a location that gave it privacy and peace/quiet. Enjoyed the stay here and really love the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom which made this a very nice feature.
This home is on a ridge along with several other homes. Therefore, there is not much available yard. However the views were nice. We enjoyed watching several wild bunnies hopping around outside. The deck is nice to sit out on especially in the evenings and there is a bench swing in a neighbors yard that you are allowed to use. Upstairs are a den, kitchen, enclosed deck, side exterior deck, and master bed and bath. Downstairs are two bedrooms and a separate room leading to the deck. The beds were big and comfortable but you may want to bring your own pillow if you like flat ones. A tv in each bedroom was nice. We did have a problem regulating the heat - if it was comfortable upstairs, it was cold downstairs. All in all we had a great time at this home over a a three night weekend.
This cabin has it all: curb appeal, wonderful seating areas, wifi, cable and a well-organized kitchen. The views never stop and the two levels allow for privacy or more socializing. Just can't say enough about how this cabin delivers.
Best cabin so far. Great views, clean, comfortable beds!
The list of things as mentioned under what not to pack were not available at the property, so make you carry all your supplies with you especially personal care items. Also Vacasa forgot to gave us the security code for the main entry gate of the complex and we had to wait to wait 15-20 mins outside at 3am in the morning to get inside the complex. So hiccups at Vacasa's end but otherwise the house, location, view is perfect for a mountain holiday. Also, I feel the pictures make the house look very spacious and it aint the case.
We apologize for the inconveniences this guest appeared to have during their stay. We will make sure all codes get emailed to our guests prior to their arrival, and we do supply a starting amount of basic necessities at this property. Thank you!
