Spend a memorable stay at one of the most unique homes in Annapolis! The original house was built in 1876 by Dennis Claude, MD, who was a Civil War surgeon, on grounds formerly owned by the Hammond-Harwood family. The early house was documented through photographs by the Historic Preservation Society. This beautifully renovated home of historic heritage has all the extras, high-end furnishings, luxurious linens, a chef-worthy kitchen, and a beautifully landscaped and appointed courtyard garden. The historical value of the house has been preserved with careful renovation true to the integrity and tradition of its roots but with the added contemporary conveniences for gracious living with a feel of elegance, charm, comfort, and beauty. It is a combination guests will feel the moment they walk through the front door.
The garden is a quiet little courtyard offering a welcoming place for a change of pace from a busy day. You enter the garden through the French doors from the family room. You will be struck by the seclusion, quiet, and peacefulness offered in this comfortable well-appointed seating area with a chaise lounge, chairs, and bench. The gorgeously landscaped garden itself adds to the beauty and contentment found in this private little oasis overlooking the Naval Academy Chapel. There is a gas grill and table and overhead soft lighting for evening enjoyment.
Inside, guests will come across Brazilian cherry floor throughout all of the first level and Custom milled trey ceilings. The beautifully appointed formal living room invites you to unwind with your friends and plan your next adventures. Or you might as well gather in the family room with a granite-faced gas fireplace and stream a favorite show on the large smart TV. If the heart of your home is in the kitchen, you will feel right at home in this kitchen! The kitchen is open to a connecting casual dining space looking out to the beautiful garden and allows for plenty of room for people to gather. You will find top-of-the-line cookware, serving, and glassware to accommodate your cooking and entertaining needs. There is the convenience of high-quality appliances from a beautiful gas stove to the colonial touch of a copper sink for your cooking pleasure. The cozy, warm kitchen dining area is perfect for casual dining and seating for up to eight, while the elegant dining room offers the opportunity for more formal dining around a lovely round table with seating for up to 12 and a fireplace for added ambiance.
Retire into luxury in any one of the beautifully appointed bedrooms, each offering the finest in bed linens, blankets, pillows, and duvets. Additional perks include flatscreen TVs in most rooms, a Sonos wireless speaking system on the main level, and a printer/scanner.
