We really did not spend any time in Felton but travelled each day to Monteray and Santa Cruz. Short rides and would have been fine but that last five miles.

Roaring Camp Railroad was fun, especially when it broke down and had to get a new pin for the brake shoe.
I wish I would have known how far it was up the hill with the small roads.

We were coming for a trip to Santa Cruz and to the Roaring Camp Train. SO close to the train. We had a great time at that park, the State park right next door and then enjoyed time at the Covered Bridge Park.
If we hadn't planned this trip so last minute we would have loved to stay longer. At least luck had it that this house popped up as an option for us on a couple days that we were going to be in the are; loved the area!

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is superb and extremely close. Big Basin Redwoods State Park is not too far away and definitely worth visiting. Depending upon the time of year, the Ano Neuvo State Marine Conservation Area can be a very worthwhile trip. If that trip is started by driving north on California 1 out of Santa Cruz, travel a different way back to Felton by returning southbound on California 1 and taking the Bonny Doon Road off California 1 up to Pine Flat Road, then to Empire Grade back to Felton for a beautiful drive.

We were really excited to see that the cabin is near the Loch Lomond recreation area. The area is closed upon further notice, it would have been nice to have that information before you go there. It did not matter to much, since there are several state parks around, but since this cabin is within walking distance, the info would have been good.

We were only there for two days, really. Of course, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a must - at least once. We discovered Felton - a cute little town. Mostly the quiet and seclusion. We would tell future guests to check out all of the cabinets before shopping - so much is provided!
