We were lucky this year - we seem to have hit the peak of the wildflower bloom in a fantastic year for them. The trails were beautiful. This house has a great location for getting to the beach easily.

Unfortunate the amenities of the pool and spa were down for treatment and we were not told in advance.

We were lucky enough to see a pod of whales migrating by, visible from the bluffs on the trails near the house. We also saw seals on the beach below. What a treat!

This is the first time we have gone to visit the B Bryan Preserve in Pt. Arena and it was a wonderful experience. You haven't lived until you've kissed a giraffe! Highly recommend it.

Two Fish bakery now at 2 locations is worth checking out. Walking along the cliff is a must and if you can get to SRLodge before 10:30, you can get a decent breakfast. The Hot Spot over on the far East Side of Sea Ranch is a pleasant swimming spot if weather favors. (out of the beach winds). TRINKS in Gualala is a local favorite cafe and bakery. St Orr's is the oldest high end restaurant for many miles just north of Gualala. Need a reservation.

I've been here two years for a weekend with my 2 daughters, 1 son-in-law and 1 granddaughter (3-1/2 this year). It's the perfect location for us--close to the playground and a nice walk to our favorite tide pool beach. This year the deer really liked the meadow in front of the house.

We loved the big, open space for flying kites that were in the drawer--we're not sure if the grownups or small children enjoyed that more. We also took a nice hike down to the beach each morning to contribute to the driftwood forts and play in the sand. The nearby playground was nice, too, but we found we loved being at the beach even more.

Upper Crust Pizzeria was a delight for lunch one day, and we went both to Surf Market and the Gualala Market, too. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt super safe and happy to have chosen this place. The stars were incredible and we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets each day.

Go to Trinks in Gualala. They are a family run restaurant with quality ingredients and a very hard working talented staff.
I would not suggest the Sea Ranch Lodge for dinner. The appitizers were good, but the main courses were way overpriced for the quality.

The Moonraker pool is small, but very nice, quiet and well protected. Also, the walks around Black Point beach are very cool , but the beach is dangerous so exercise caution. My favorite beach is Walk On Beach though you have to drive up the coast a bit to visit that beach.

Very conveniently located to Shell Beach and Tide Pool Beach and the longer beach next one north . All three are easy walks from the house. Fun for children. Also house is close to play area, One Eyed Jack's. The TSR pools are wonderful. Try different ones! Can walk to the DelMar pool or bike it in 15 minutes. Also close to the Chapel via a trail off of Pacific Reach. Hot tub on house property was nice. It is very important to keep the windows only slightly open around meal time as there is a very brave raccoon poking at the kitchen screens. One needs to to close them when not home or sleeping.

We went on the moonlight tour of the Point Arena lighthouse, which was spectacular, and a surprisingly charming experience all around. The Gualala chapel is not to be missed. And a stop over to the Gualala center for the arts was a sweet addition. The hike from the house is lovely. I recommend turning right and at about 25 minutes along the way, climb in to the fairy glen. Magical!

The food was great in Gualala, the beaches nearby were very close and easy to drive to since I could not see where the trail to the ocean was nearby the home. We walked down to a courtyard, but could not see a trailhead access, so we drove and parked across Hwy 1 to go to the beaches.

Nice location near cliffs overlooking the sea, and if you hike about a mile south along the cliff trail just behind the house, you can access Black Point Beach via some stairs. It was foggy most of the time we were there and was only clear 1 out of the 3 evenings we stayed, but still pretty nice. It was our first time at Sea Ranch, so I'm not sure if the weather is the norm, or just this time of year. We spent an enjoyable few hours at Annapolis Winery which is just a short drive away up the mountain (and sunny on that side!). Checked out the rock sculptures at Salt Point State Park (turnoff at Gerstle Campground and drive all the way to the water) but it was too cold and windy to stay out for too long.

We went kayaking in Mendocino. They have Kayaks with Outriggers. They are very stable and have a steering keel which makes keeping the canoe straight and very easy to do. We took our dog Skipper with us who sat in the middle of the kayak. You can easily beach the kayak in several locations to let your dog run. It was a wonderful experience and the people at catch a canoe and bicycle too were great. There is a canoe rental place in Gualala but they were closed for the day we had available. It was about an hour-and-a-half drive up the coast. Well worth the drive.

We have been vacationing at Sea Ranch for over 30 years. We have planted our selves all over the map. My husband is an avid " ab" diver so any location has been amazing. We have Sea Ranch passes for that purpose because of our friends owning only a piece of property, no home!. Recently , We stayed in a house called "Second Wind", very rustic, aged, with a few minor problems that can easily be fixed, but the view at this house was by far the most beautiful that we have ever experienced. The climate was at LEAST 10 degrees hotter, as we planted ourselves on the hillside. We had giant redwoods, great trails with easy access, and the ocean! Just Beautiful. So if you are one to not mind an older, rustic, home with lots of creaks at night, this is the house for you!. It was for us and we are SEA RANCHERS!
