Wheeler/Stallard House Museum
Jerome B. Wheeler built this Queen Anne style home in 1888. Despite his plans, his wife Harriet Macy Valentine Wheeler refused to leave their mansion in Manitou Springs, Colorado and the family never lived here. Edgar and Mary Ella Stallard moved into the house in 1905, eventually purchasing it in 1917. The family lived here for forty years.
Holden Marolt Mining & Ranching Museum
In 1891, the Holden Lixiviation Mill sprawled over 22 acres at the edge of Aspen, boasting state-of-the-art technology and industrial design. Just 14 months after the new plant opened, Congress demonetized silver and the mill went bankrupt. Mike Marolt purchased the property for a dollar in 1940 as a family ranch. This site is unique. It tells the stories of both Aspenâ€™s mining and ranching heritage.
Snowmass Ice Age Discovery Center
This Snowmass Village museum in partnership with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science takes the public behind the scenes to watch the preservation of locally-discovered fossils.
Peter Lik Aspen
Surrounded by 3,000 ft. mountains on all sides, LIK ASPEN is just as invigorating as its natural backdrop. Expect to see local-themed landscapes at this gallery, from majestic visions of the Maroon Bells to Peter's LIK EPIC of Aspen's birch trees in "Yellow." Located on the ground floor of the historic Isis Theatre building, gallery guests can conveniently catch a flick or walk a block and enjoy the cuisines of Restaurant Row.
