Before you start inviting guests to use your place, there are a few things you should know. Colorado Springs vacation rental permits cost $119 and require a tax license, proof of insurance, and a completed application. Colorado Springs has different tax rates based on the location of your home. At a minimum your guests will have to pay a 2.9 percent state sales tax, 1.23 percent county sales tax, 3.12 percent city sales tax, and a 2 percent city lodging tax. They may also have to cover a per-night booking fee if your home is in a certain part of town. Keep in mind that local regulations may change, so check in with the Colorado Springs zoning board to learn more about the regulations that affect your property.
