Comfortable, roomy and well appointed. Enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the canal. Do wish the boat life worked but plenty of dock for kayaking etc. Nice washer/dryer and vacuum and some cleaning supplies -very helpful if you’re there for a while.

Charming house, in a great location. Plenty of extras to make you feel right at home. Definitely, a return visit will be in store.

Lovely community with nice neighbors. Plenty of dining options. Good groceries a 7 mile drive away. Walk to beach but no swimming and little space to walk the shore. Delicious authentic Mexican food truck at the intersection near Publix grocery. Loved amazing food at the Blue Dog restaurant. Nice people everywhere. Nearby options to catch ferry to Cabbage Key and North Captiva islands.

Things to Do in Bokeelia, FL

While many towns along Florida's Southwest Gulf Coast boast tropical views, gorgeous white sand beaches, and fresh-from-the-boat seafood, Bokeelia is special for its unparalleled access to great sport fishing in Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound; this makes it especially well-suited to anglers and those seeking adventures on the water - and our Bokeelia vacation rentals will give you quick access to all the off-coast action!

Head out in the morning with Native Attitude Fishing Charters and let an experienced guide show you the best places to cast for redfish, snook, snapper, cobia, grouper, and many more Gulf species that live along the lush mangrove coastline and in the deepwater habitat just off the coast.

Dry yourself out and grab your whole group for an afternoon tour of the Museum of the Islands. Learn about Pine Island's rich history and view ancient artifacts of the Calusa Indians, a Native American tribe that once lived on the island. Continue your day of learning about the island's diverse past including Spanish settlers, Seminole wars, and much more at the Useppa Museum.

Wind down your day at any of the island's quaint restaurants, of which there are three: Red's Fresh Seafood House & Tavern, The Lazy Flamingo, and Capt'n Cons Fish House. Chow down on fresh-caught seafood and indulge in a slice of key lime pie - an island specialty - for dessert.

Day Trips from Bokeelia, FL

Though you may decide to spend your entire stay partaking in the many land and water activities around your Bokeelia vacation rental, numerous great day trips add even more fun. Head 15 miles south to Pine Island's southern tip where you'll be able to birdwatch for herons, roseate spoonbills, egrets, osprey, and many more waterfowl native to Southwest Florida while hiking on the Calusa Land Trust's St. Jude Nature Trail. If you're looking for great shopping, head 25 miles east and back onto mainland Florida where you'll find plenty of boutique shops, along with great dining, live music venues, and art galleries in Fort Myers.

Whether you've come for island-themed relaxation or to reel in your next trophy fish, our Bokeelia vacation rentals give you access to it all!
