Things to Do in Blue Ridge, GA

Touted as the Trout Capital of Georgia, there are a seemingly endless amount of hidden fishing holes spread out within the nearly 100 miles of rivers, streams, and creeks. Find a spot along Jack's River to set up shop, or navigate the waters of Blue Ridge Lake and cast a line into the deep waters where the bigger fish are waiting.

When you're not fishing, you can take a floating trip down the Toccoa River to beat the summer heat and enjoy the scenery. Start your trip above the Lake Blue Ridge dam on Aska Road and make your way through the crisp waters and leave the stress of the daily grind behind as the gentle waters whisk you away.

If you're looking for a family-friendly adventure, grab some tickets and jump on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, which hugs the coast of the picturesque Toccoa River. With seasonally themed trips like the Santa Express, Pumpkin Train, and the Easter Eggspress that run from April to December, there is something for the whole family to enjoy year-round.

Dotted with trails that take you through tree-lined paths and wildflower meadows, Blue Ridge is an ideal spot for outdoor lovers to snap a few pictures and enjoy the seasons. Winding through nearly 100,000 acres in the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Appalachian Trail is a slice of heaven for hikers and mountain bikers. Book a trip on a horseback tour to enjoy a little time with a new equine friend as you take in the scenery.

Elsewhere in the Chattahoochee National Forest, you'll find rolling hills with vines stretching towards the sun. Bear Claw Vineyards offers crisp white wines that pair perfectly with a hot summer day and will please the palate of every wine lover. If you're looking for some suds, treat yourself to a seasonal flight at Blue Ridge Brewery while you take in some of the local live music.
