We stayed for 3 nights. It was very calm and quiet with a view of the breakwater from the patio And the kitchen windows. All the amenities provided were good. Few minutes walk from the local attractions and beaches as well as grocery stores. All in all a very good experience.

Very homey, clean, well equipped cottage. Our first stay has exceeded our expectations. We took full advantage of the views from the porch as well as the beach. Very close proximity to down town Gloucester and Rockport to enjoy local attractions and restaurants. I look forward to going back.

This cottage was like stepping back in time to a wealthy artist's retreat on the ocean. The location is lovely. Once we were able to get our large truck into the narrow entrance (2 granite pillars making it tight), the walk to the cottage was enchanting (ignoring the odd containers & abandoned sheds). The flowers and trees lined the path & opened up to a gorgeous ocean view. My partner even made it down on the granite stones to cast a few times. The interior is dark, but detailed. The living room furniture is fairly new, and the linens & towels were all new too. There is a heat pump for heat & air which we did not use. The library furniture is very old and has a story to tell, we didn't use this room. The windows are all old, but do open for fresh air. The kitchen was tiny, but manageable. The old statues in the loft look like they once lined the grounds which are now a bit unkept. Again, my gut tells me a writer/artist spent their summers here for inspiration! It's not perfect, but if the weather's good you will be happy you had the experience to make up your own story about the lives lived in this cottage back in it's time! Rustic, but just because it's old and needs some love...at one time this property was someone's paradise!
