We were so overwhelmed with how great the house was and the fact that it was RIGHT ON the beach that we didn't take time to explore much else.
We did go to Fish-and-Chips in Old Downtown Bandon on our way out of town - great service and amazing food!

Seven Devils State Park is great beach access less than a mile away. Even better, during the late fall / early winter months there's NO ONE there.
The Bandon boardwalk is tiny... but was a cool place to just hang out for a bit. A harbor seal was watching me watching it for a good half hour. Puppy dog of the sea, right there.
And while you're down there, Tony's Crab Shack has EPIC fish tacos (fish is sauteed, not fried... fresh shredded cabbage, pico de gallo you can watch the cook prepare, and a really impressive spicy aioli).
Wagon Wheel Chocolate Factory in Old Town Bandon is the place to stop to get your tourist fix....
That or the Misty Meadows jam place (that grows their own blueberries and makes all their stuff right there by hand - pro tip: no sugar added cranberry spread + rye bread + just a touch of honey may be the best thing ever).
You're there for the golf, probably, so I won't even bother touching on that. All the magazines have covered it pretty well.
Take a drive down HWY 101. It's... it's nice. And you can see cranberry bogs. These strange purple-red squares sunk into the ground. Took me a bit to realize what they were.

Being so close to the beach - exploring tide pools, splashing with the kids, walking to the jetty - really was the most wonderful thing, but my second serious favorite time in Bandon was sipping a Mayan Drinking Chocolate at Coastal Mist. Also loved the art gallery.

Renting sand boards with Steve's ATV rentals was loads of fun. The staff was super helpful. Next time, we will rent ATVs too. The breakfast bagels at the bakery in old town were unique and delicious. Be sure to investigate the garage at the Jetty House. It has crabbing nets and other items for use.

The property was surrounded with beautiful, thick trees/bushes, effectively serving as a fence of sorts, which was helpful for our dog and child to play in an area that was easily observed from the windows and deck. It was really nice!

Old Town Italian restaurant family run, intimate seating and authentic. The dinner hour is early enening in Bandon so encourage reservations. This little place squeezed us in at a late hour and fed us the best crab ravioli and spaghetti with clams that I've had since visiting the Italian coast.

great little town. The local cafe was good and the $2.00 ice cream cones at the Creamery were the best bargain in town. The cheese was fantastic, too. We really enjoyed the jet boat ride out of Gold Beach and the old town in Coos Bay. Shark Bite cafe was excellent there too. We also loved the rocky little beach behind the house. Great place to skip rocks and find "beach treasures". There is a wonderful Farmers/artisan market a half a block from the house on Fri and Sat . And plenty of fresh fish stores.
