    * Tidal Raves Restaurant - Higher-end coastal restaurant just up the road. Outstanding ocean views, especially at lunchtime. Resvns advised.
*Whale Cove Restaurant - Expensive but gorgeous cliff-top fine dining.
Depoe Bay Harbor - pretty little fishing harbor, entry through a cliff face.

Only 15 minutes from Newport, Fred Meyers, Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Izzy's, Sizzler, the liquor store, and more. Plus, it's just a block from the bridge that leads north to more shopping and late night quick marts. While there is no actual beach to stroll on nearby, there is a park bench to watch the waves and see them crash on the rocky shoreline.

The Chinese restaurant in depoe bay turned their grills back on after they were done serving dinner, for my family because we arrived so late Friday night with hungry children and everything else was closed. 2am she cooked a meal for 10 all by herself. Thank you for great hospitality and bless you for being a wonderful human being.

Nothing new to us as we have visited before. Tidal Raves, Gracie's Sea Hag are good restaurants. Georgie's the Hallmark in Newport looks good but we didn't make it there. Pig 'n' Pancake is pretty consistently good. Boiler Bay overlook was fun to watch the whales from. We did not take a whale watching tour boat. this time.

There is a nice variety of restaurants in town. Tidal Raves is a must with delicate sauces and friendly wait staff! Stop by the Visitor's center to pick up a chart of Tide Tables so you can see the twin spouts spewing foaming eruptions of water at high tide (watch out, you might get wet!). Stop in the whale watch center and chat with the informative, volunteer docent. You can see a whale's water spout almost every day!

This townhouse is 8 miles south of Lincoln City right off Hwy 101, beach side. We really enjoyed the shops in Depoe Bay within a short drive of the house. We also really liked the food at Dory's Cove, a few miles before the house on the right hand side. We had their delicious clam chowder, scrumptious fish tacos and huge jojo's 3x during out stay! Easy take out or comfortable to dine in. The drive to Newport is quick and full of beach views, and we all loved watching the sealions (so funny!) but we were very disappointed in the aquarium - not worth the entry fee. The Newport Cafe right on Hwy 101 was fresh and yummy with an eclectic vibe and good size portions. A hole-in-the-wall little building, but clean with super generous owners. We did our grocery shopping at Safeway in Lincoln City and Barnacle Bill's fresh seafood stand nearby was great for fish and crab selections. We also enjoyed having breakfast at Maxwell's right in the hub of Lincoln City shops. Good portions and prices, although the wait staff was a bit odd. I had a Bloody Mary and was happy with the $4 drink :) THE BEST OF ALL: easy access to the beach from the house, stay to the left for easier stair access. The beach is literally a two minute walk from the beautiful townhouse, and in September we nearly had the entire beach to ourselves! The weather was mild, near 70° and we were able to make beach bonfires and roast marshmallows.
