We like the central location - we take day trips NORTH and SOUTH to visit lighthouses and covered bridges. The Outlet mall is all way a stop for us - and we always order in a Gallucci's Pizza and at least one visit to Mo's for chowder!

You have to get the smoked salmon from Barnacle Bill's.

Usually when I go to the beach, I like to be closer to the ocean. The traffic has gotten so bad in Lincoln City, it's tough to drive anywhere...even if you stay within 3 minutes of beach access. Too far to walk with little kids.

Christ instructed I to bless those that curse us and steal and bad mouth us so God bless you people that work there that accepted my cash payment after I departed early as a token to move my belonging into my car and cargo trailer as I have them the combo lock. When I returned after being suddebly called away a week into my stay and all ready having had paid for 30 days at the sea horse including a cash payment to safe gourd my personal effects. I found the lock to my cargo trailer gone. All my items from in the room where in there minus my high-value electronic items a big screen TV a propane heater and it just record or not to mention my metals from overseas issued from the US Military. In addition to selective medications taken out of my medication bag the ones that had an analgesic effect some of the quantities we're only halfway taken against selectively stolen. I think called Triple A and have them come over to tow my Mercedes and cargo trailer into Salem and the same people I had paid to safeguard my personal property that stole from me then bad mouthed me to the tow truck driver and the story was re told to me at the Mercedes dealership. Classy people there in Lincoln city! Thank you so very much! And God bless you.

our two favorite spots from the weekend were Snug Harbor Bar & Grill, and Nelscott Cafe. Snug Harbor was a total dive bar, but they excelled in that limitation. We heard great music, ate tasty bar food, and had several strong drinks for less than $30.
Nelscott Cafe: we fought traffic and weather to enjoy a phenomenal breakfast at the tiny family owned cafe. It was absolutely worth it and the service was stellar!

We went deep sea fishing with Captains Reel in Newport and had a blast. The four of us limited out and had them fillet the fish for us. Later that night we had fresh fish N chips. We brought our own deep fryer and had a blast cooking the food we had caught ourselves6 and even more fun eating it. I also brought my own vacuum sealer so we were able to seal up the fish properly and freeze it so everyone was able to take home fresh fish as well. Great experience for everyone. The fishing company was very professional and work great with young children. I have been deep sea fishing many many times over the years in Newport and this charter company is my favorite.

Easy access to shopping, groceries and outlet stores from this place. With crab rings at the house to use, you can down and throw them off the dock by Mo's and catch your own when the tide is right. It is a short and easy walk to the beach on the south public access with no stairs.

Our stay happened to coincide with the annual grey whale northward migration. So many times throughout our stay we were treated to amazing views out the window or off the deck of prolonged mother/calf whale interactions just beyond where the surf began to break. That and our first glimpse of the sunset's "green flash" were huge highlights.

Found a great nearby brewpub in Roadhouse 101. Their toffee porter is one of my new favorites.

Also discovered the Drift Creek trail hike to the suspension bridge. Easy hike with a gorgeous payoff.
