Local ocean restaurant is excellent. We had a Brazilian fish stew that was delicious and so full of seafood that we took half home and had it for a second meal.

The weather didn't allow for too much traveling around, but we are at the coast frequently. Usually we love time at the beaches, such as Nye. We love the art gallery there, fish and chips and the shops such as dapper frog or puffin. We also enjoy the bay front. There is just too much to list it all. We absolutely love our time at the coast. Almost forgot, a must do go to Pirates Plunder!

The beach below the unit, although a tough walk for all but the most spry, is out of the wind and quite nice. Parking is definitely a problem, but mostly on weekends, as this unit is located directly across from a public beach access point. Just be prepared and be resourceful.

The aquarium is a cool visit for people unfamiliar with the pacific northwest. It's about a 45 minute walk, and if you get thirsty on the way the Rogue brewery is along the route. Also, most beaches alow campfires, and that's a great nighttime excursion.

What a wonderful place to bring over whoever you wish to bring over...The house and the amenities are amazing. We had one minor setback with the hot tub on a Friday evening. It was warm but not hot. We all jumped in anyways and made the best of it...Called the next morning(Saturday) around 8:30AM...Figured we would want to get on the list as early as possible in hopes the hot tub could be running by evening...no more than 45 minutes later we get the knock on the door...lo and behold a repairman was there and ready to go...amazing...apparently the hot tub was in some type of economy mode. The service man reprogrammed the main board and within minutes the temperature in the hot tub was climbing....great customer service and fantastic response time!!!

Have enjoyed the Newport area for many years, and this was no exception. It seems that the Newport business and service people are just a lot more friendly in a genuine manner. Parking became very tight during the seafood/wine festival at the rental area. Had to actually ask someone to move so we could park. 9 cars in that small parking area was a bit much.

The views from the upstairs bedrooms are fantastic. One bedroom views only the jetty, with no buildings visible- a fun sight to wake up to. The other bedroom has a wonderful view of the Bridge and Newport across the Bay. The South Beach fish market and grocery store are walking distance, and an important piece of Newport heritage, and the Rogue Brewery is a very short walk towards the Bay. We did not go as far as the Hatfield Marine Center, as we were more into eating great seafood and drinking beer on this trip!

The beaches were beautiful. We ate twice at Georgies Restaurant, Near the Hallmark Hotel where my daughter and family stayed. The food was wonderful and the ocean was great as always. I liked the convenience of the stores from the house so that we could plan our dinners and other meals.

Well it depends on the guests, their likes and dislikes. It would have been nicer if we did not have to drive to find entrance to the beach. Driving 14 hours to get to the place and than drive some more to find entrance to the beach was a little much.

Enjoyed several meals at the Rogue Brewery, since it was so close- just the other side of the Bridge. They do allow children, which was important as we had 2yr & 6 yr grandsons with us, along with their parents. They usually have a wait, however we did find out that you can make reservations, but at least a day ahead for future reference. We all enjoyed the Aquarium & found out that we could go back later in the day for no extra charge by having our hands stamped. We took the 6 yr old & there were very few people there & the octopus was very active, along with the shark tank, we were glad we went back. We also made a couple of visits to the original Mo's in old town Newport. They cater to kids & our Grandsons cleaned their plates! We drove a short distance to the nearby beach area & were lucky to have sunshine & little wind for the grandsons to play in the sand & search for ricks & shells

Newport had lots of things to see. Definitely on the must-see list was the lighthouse and the tide pools. If you have the opportunity to travel down the coast a bit, Cape Perpetua has some really wonderful sights to see as well - Thor's well, the spouting horn, and the devil's churn were very much worth the time.

Centrally located for going to favorite spots and easy access to beach. We had 5 adults 2 teens and 2 children, had plenty of sleeping spots and loved the 3 full baths. Relatives from out of state and they loved it. Would rent again. Only complaint was the cooking pans and that is minor.....

The location is perfect with access to many local favorite places as well as easy access to the bridge. The beach was close and is amazing.

La Maison is delicious. The Rogue brewery is good but the service is pretty bad. The Wood Fire Pizza place is tiny, lacks ambiance...but looks delicious. We didn't get to eat it as they only had one dough left for a 10 inch pizza at 7:00pm on a Saturday night. So if you want pizza, order early and get it to go. The Newport Marathon is a well supported race...they offer a 5k, 10k and half now too.

Newport is just down the road and has plenty of fantastic food offerings. We went to Mo's for some seafood, but were not that impressed. Next time we will try one of the many other seafood restaurants that are on the water and my have a little nicer fare. The Newport aquarium was a nice visit if the weather permits. Much of the grounds are outdoors, which I wasn't aware of, but the weather turned out ok for us. Our favorite local spot we found over the weekend we were here was the chinese restaurant down the road, Kam Meng. Their food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We got it to go because we wanted a night in, but next time we may stay.

The guys went fishing on the jetty and had a great time (sadly, no fish, but hey, a good time!) and women and children joined them later where a great time was had in the protected sandy space between the road and the water. You can see the coast from the porch which is really nice. Unfortunately the house is very close to the neighboring homes. The neighbor to the right of the home was very unpleasant. She took it upon herself to yell at us at 10:15pm. I felt it was unnecessary for her to be so rude. A respectful reminder of the time would have been more than enough.
