Let's be real, this is an old beach cottage so it smells musty throughout, and a bit mildew-ey in the bathroom. There were no major "dirty" things like some folks mentioned. It was cozy on a rainy weekend (the main wall heater worked well to warm the place) and a great location away from town (Newport) with incredible beach access. There's usually a little picnic and park area along the trail but it was under construction while we were there. Furnishings and decor were a bit mismatched and felt like thrift store/estate sale finds. Overall, the chalet was great for our purposes of a sweet and quaint family get-away. Could they spend some $ to update the interior design? Yes, but then I'm sure they would charge more, so take it or leave it IMHO.

Loved how bright an airy the house was. All the windows made it light, even on a grey day. Not suitable for little kids or elderly because of all the stairs. Great place for a family. Not so good for two couples because of privacy. Only one private bedroom. Would be super for 6 gals or guys to hang out. There were four of us sisters so it worked perfect.
