The park down the street was beautiful. Looking towards the East in the early morning, the sun coming up and the site of the sun rising was absolutely beautiful. During the morning we witnessed a doe and buck coming from the west. This wouldn't be noted but the buck was white with brown spots. We had never seen anything like this before. After a while two fawns came out of the grass. The whole household was watching this family of deer, but my grandchildren were amazed. The beach was clean and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

We explored Bob Straub state park - the peninsula that is off the highway. It has a long beach on one side and lots of trails on the other. We also drove up to Cape Lookout and hiked the trails there. We had brunch at The Grateful Bread. Next time we are thinking of renting a kayak with Nestucca Adventures on the Nestucca River that goes through town. The thing we enjoyed most about the studio was the beautiful view of the hills, pastures and ocean.

First time to the Oregon coast, we were very happy to have arrived at this house in Pacific City after a rocky start with a minor car accident earlier in the day. A sight for sore eyes, this house was perfect for myself, my elderly parents, and my kids, ages 8-11. My parents took the master on the main floor, which also gave them the beautiful deck to look at the ocean view. My kids and I took the lower level, which came with two bedrooms and a family room with a big tv and foosball table, which we enjoyed. As for Pacific City itself, I was very glad we chose it instead of say, Lincoln City, which we visited but thought it was too touristy for us. Also, Pacific City has the sand dunes and tidepool area we liked to check out We also got to visit Timalook factory and the light house at Cape Meares. But mostly we liked hanging out at the beach, which is just a 5 min walk from the house, and frankly at the house which was just a wonderful spot.

Short walk to the beach from the house. Grocery store close by that was convenient and friendly. Several amenities we hadn't expected. Hot tub to warm up after a day playing in the cold surf.

Pacific City is a hidden gem. Small town compared to Lincoln City and Cannon Beach but we love that. You have groceries, a great Pub on the beach. Really everything you could need. We did hiking and beach-combing and generally had a great time exploring and spending time together. I think Pacific City has something for all ages as my big kids enjoyed exploring the Cape. Eat your Wheaties and climb the dune!

We really enjoyed riding horses on the beach at Bob Straub State Park. With the beach just a block away, flying kites and watching the sunset was super convenient. Within a short drive (10-15 miles), we spent time hiking out on Cape Lookout and to Munson Falls. Tillamook Cheese Factory, Cannon Beach, Ecola State Park, Seaside and Fort Clatsop were a bit farther (to the north). The Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport was just a short drive as well (to the south).

We love the expansive, clean, dog friendly beach, and always enjoy a friendly competitive climb up Cape Kiwanda. The tide pools are fun to explore, with or without kids. We have stayed in Pacific City multiple times, but this is the first time we actually were able to enjoy a meal at Pelican Brewery. Weekends are crazy busy, but we stayed through Monday so were able to get in with almost no wait time.

Pelican brewery and Dory's pizza were great places to eat and watch the sunset from pelican. The local RV market has ice cream and any grocery items needed just typical pricey grocery items. They also have a great seafood selection and one night we bought fresh caught dory crabs to have for dinner. Further down into small town of pacific city was a great wine/ craft beer place called twist wine. They even serve Pliny the elder! Of course no minors allowed. The Oar house is a local bar and grill and allows minors and great burger place. The beach was just a quick walk from the house and the big sand dune cape Kiwanda is always beautiful and quite the climb but worth it at the top. When the tide goes out you can find amazing shells and sand dollars.

But mostly we enjoyed this lovely well kept home and spending time together. (It was my birthday) We made some great meals there and some great memories. This house is so well kept and so well stocked. Kids wpuld LOVE IT!! It was the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation I believe we've ever had. No pressure, no traffic and long lines. We are planning another get away for September, and Jasemine knows just what we are looking for. I didn't even want to come home! lol...so can't wait for September! Thank you Vacasa, and God bless...

Bob Straub Park / beach is much less crowded than Cape Kiwanda beach access, with broad expanses of fluffy sand and sand dollars in the surf. Definitely recommend going there once you've enjoyed the Cape area.

We loved going fishing on a dory boat charter, hiking Cape Lookout (20 min drive) and up the bluff at Cape Kiwanda, and spending lots of time at the beach! My 20 month-old nephew loved the puddles and pools left behind on the beach at low tide and my brothers appreciated the waves for surfing practice. The Tillamook Cheese Factory is only 30 minutes away and made a great afternoon outing. Pacific City was small and easy to navigate, but there was more to do when we left. If you need something from a bigger city (like tire repair or Fred Meyer as we did), Tillamook and Lincoln City are both 30 minutes from the house. It was the best of both worlds.

We really enjoyed Twist Wine Company for relaxing and meeting other people. The wine and beer were great and the owners were so much fun. The food and the Oar House was really good for bar type food. (except the ribs...not good) The wings were the best I've ever had. The Sportsman has the best fish and chips in town. They are very fresh. The sportsman isn't good for the kids though. Also....you have to check out the gift shop next to Twist Wine Bar. It is so much fun!

Cape Kiwanda and Haystack Rock get all the attention on the beach, and rightfully so, but I found that the walk south to the mouth of the Nestucca River to be delightful as well. It's about 3 miles each way, so be ready for a long walk.

Pelican Brewery was fantastic! Call ahead to put your name on the list, you'll get an Estimated wait and a text when table is ready. It gets extremely busy on the weekend eith a 1-2 hour wait. Kid friendly.

Great fun Bread had a great breakfast and amazing scones.

We spent both days at Kiwanda in front of Pelican's. We drove right on the beach on our Subaru, but as a warning, literally every hour cars were getting stuck trying to get on the beach getting high-centered. When it doesn't rain much the sand doesn't get packed down enough. So don't be that minivan or sedan guy trying to get on the beach. It's a spectator sport and people will point and laugh.

The town is super close and really cute. It's big enough to have some character and the thing you might need--coffee, pizza, brewpub, grocery--and small enough that it won't distract you away from the beach or hanging at your place. Loved the burritos at the taco and burger place.

We really like Pacific City, however we where there over the 4th of July weekend and won't go back there on the 4th again. The fireworks went off all night long and our neighbors were parting until 4:30am.
Pacific City was way to crowded, no parking, garbage cans overflowing, etc.

As a previous riverfront cottage owner for 20 years, it was sad to see that Pacific City was so affected by the economic recession. The PC Market (Chester's) has much work to do in building a basis for a good market again. Visiting Tuesday and Wednesday with the Grateful Bread closed those two days, it was Thursday before they opened and we could find anything but pub food. They serve wonderful breakfasts.

We loved the open, light and bright studio and would highly recommend it and the lovely views to anyone seeking quiet and beauty. The decorating was well-done and offered relaxation in a novel setting. Wish the bed had a firmer mattress, but it was still good.

    Thank you!

Pelican Pub was awesome. Love that we could walk most everywhere. Small grocery store further away than walking distance, so I would say get groceries before you arrive.

We enjoyed the short hike up the sand hill to overlook the ocean, & dinner at the Pelican Pub was superb!

There's a great café called The Grateful Bread just a few blocks away, a couple of convenience stores, and a good supermarket too!

The Pelican Pub, Bob Straub State Park with great access to a wide open beach.

We loved the Pelican Pub and watching the climbers on the big dune and the surfers!

There is the giant sand dune that the kids love and of course the amazing tidepools. We saw a sun star that was spectacular!

Pelican Brewery, the beaches, Chester Grocery (the staff there are very friendly and helpful). Tillamook Factory is a must see that is close by. Watching the dory boats launch and recover. Going on the beach at low tide to explore the rocks.
