This home was close enough to Mt Hood Meadows, that it made for an easy drive up to the slopes for our skiing vacation.

It was great to have a grocery store so close. We made several stops at McIsaacs.
One morning we took a trip to Lost Lake. We wish we would have planned a whole day there! It was beautiful and worth the drive. I definitely recommend checking it out. We hiked around the lake, but would have loved to kayak and swim if we were prepared for that.

Solera in Parkdale allows dogs outside with plenty of room to run around. Once owners can relax about their pups, you can enjoy their great food and beverages.

Also LOVED Ari Che winery in the newly renovated bank building in Hood River. Fantastic

Parkdale is very close and has a very nice hardware store and grocery store. There's so much to do that's within a 30 minute drive or less. We went in late November when trail access can be limited and not much is happening at the wineries & orchards but it's still an amazing place to be.

Solera Brewery - my dog had so much fun playing with the other dogs out back with Mount Hood in the distance!
We enjoyed the zip line, the trampoline, the hot tub and long walks right from the property!

Lawrence Lake is just outside of town and provides excellant fishing, swimming and
views of Mt. Hood when paddling around the lake and inlets. Lost Lake is a bit of a drive, but has paved roads all the way for easy access and great views of the mountain. The lodge has a store and boat rentals for those that don't have their own.
Lots of easy hiking around the lake. The surrounding towns provide lots of fresh fruit at the many farm stands and driving the "Fruit Loop" will assure you don't miss any great views and local fare. Parkdale has everything the family may need including gas, groceries, or a great homemade meal from one of the local spots. This area is truly a special treasure if you want to escape the normal crowds and often over used hot spots on the other side of Mt. Hood.

Solera? Brewing is the only place close by that was listed as "food nearby" but right across the street was a great BBQ place if you want to avoid the drunk locals at the brew pub.
