We did go down to Seal Rock Rec area and walked down to the beach. The tide was out so it made exploring the tide pools much better. Weather was perfect.

We visit the coast to go crab fishing so Seal Rock is a great location to get supplies in Newport and then get to the dock in Waldport in a very short time.

Just a quick drive to Newport for the aquarium, shops, and great food in the bay!

I loved that just a couple blocks from the house you crossed Hwy 101 and dropped right into the Seal Rock State Park. We found great tide pools down there and it was such a charming ambiance down there. Many huge birds on the rocks and all sorts of wonderful memories made.
Definitely make sure you stop in at the little drive-up espresso and bakery hut (there's a menu in the vacation binder) -- they're both charming and the croissants were delicious!
We also loved that when you approach the house at night, it's the warm, glowing one right in front of you. What a way to be welcomed home!

Yes, the kitchen island is the PERFECT PLACE TO PUT OUR CUTTING MAT WHEN WE WERE MAKING OUR QUILT, and the kitchen table big enough to to spread out everything we needed. my hubby and brother took off every morning g to go explore up and down the coast, they had great time. A great deck to BBQ on with a perfect view of ocean waves. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINALLY PROVIDING NICE DECK CHAIRS.. We've come two years in a row and love this beautiful home. We will be back, hey how about a discount for "returnees".

The near by beach wasn't very usable due to the sand fleas had to drive to the beach unfortunately.

Gorgeous view! Newport was just a wonderful adventure. Nye Beach, the Vietnam Memorial Walk, and of course Historic Old Town. We took a charter out for fishing one day and even saw a whale while we were fishing. Caught lots of fish too!

It is conveniently located between Newport and Waldport. Newport is great to visit for sight seeing/shopping, etc. Waldport has a grocery store to pick up any forgotten items. Also, there is so much to see and do in this area. The drive south on 101 to Florence is breathtaking and makes for a great day outing.

It was great having beach access so close! Unfortunately it rained a lot, but we still had a great view and enjoyable time! Our dog LOVED the fenced front yard. It was great to sit out on the deck, listen to the ocean, and let him run around and play. LOVED the west facing windows. So bright, airy, great layout.

Every one of the state parks nearby had their own unique beauty. We did a lot of walking with our dogs, and because there were so few people on the beach, they could often run free. They were very happy dogs! We especially liked the walk from the house to Seal Rocks beach.

amazing beach: long, clean, and (last weekend in Feb) almost all to ourselves.

The beach directly below the home was a great place to explore tide pools, climb around on rocks, and play in the sand.
  • Seal Rock

    Heidi R.

Ona Beach (just a couple of miles North) was amazing. A nice walk from the parking area to the beach. We had the beach to ourselves (it was January). We saw three eagles, and played frisbee with our dogs on the beach. Ona Beach seemed a little more sheltered than the other beaches in the area. Beaver Creek runs along the side of the park and runs to the ocean. Beautiful and peaceful. Caveat: Judging by the number of picnic tables, it may be a lot more populated other times of the year.

The tide pooling and rock hunting just up the beach are amazing! We spent a good part of the day there...

Weather even in December was fabulous. When it was foggy and raining in Newport, it was clear and beautiful in Seal Rock. The beaches were large and empty.

The beach was gorgeous. We were extremely lucky to have fantastic weather (in November) so we were able to easily walk to the beach. The town of Seal Rock did not have a lot to offer, but Newport was close by for dinner etc.
