We had a 3 year old and an 8 year old with us, and found the carousel a lot of fun for them, the pool at the resort was great for them as well, and everything was within walking distance which we enjoyed very much.

We enjoyed lunch at Dooger's where they very kindly accommodate sweet potato fries and call them yam fries for the children who tend to be picky eaters. Their clam chowder is exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed how much the children loved the Carousel mall and the Carousel itself.

The Arcade center downtown was amazing! Great way to have fun for a reasonable cost. The pizza shop within it was spendy but had good pizza. Schwietert's candy shop has homemade fudge, chocolates, candies, ice cream and is a nice place for both kids and adults. Norma's Seafood and Steak Restaurant was hands down our favorite place to eat.

I have been going to Seaside for over 40 years. There have been lots of positive changes. There are great restaurants, shops and a wonderful vibe (rain or shine). My favorite restaurant is Doogers. Everything is good but I think their Clam Chowder is unbeatable.

It is great having a small market right across the street. It was also nice having a local brewery and small restaurant within a block of the home. I would also recommend the "Big Foot Restaurant" a short drive away...very good prime rib and roasted chicken.

We got a closeup view (10 feet away) of a baby seal on the beach. We enjoy the fact that shops are close by, although a lot of them were closed this year (more so than in past years). We like that it is a short drive to Canon Beach for additional shopping.

Our family are all Oregonians and have been to Seaside many times. Our favorite spots start with just the beach itself. You can easily find a spot that isn't too crowded and just hang out night or day. Other than that we tend to visit local parks and spend at least one night at the arcade with the kids.

Nonnie's Restaurant is a great upscale Italian restaurant in town and if you're looking for the best chowder on the Oregon Coast, go to Norma's. It beats Mo's hands down. Be sure to stop for the best homemade gelato at Sea Star Gelato right next door.

Beach is beautiful but watch out for glass! We've been up & down the gorgeous Oregon coast but this is by far one of the most used beaches. Unfortunately not everyone packs out what they pack in lots of glass near the waterfront hotels & condos which is unfortunate when you want the toes in the sand beach experience!
  • Seaside

    Rosemary B.

This house is wonderful except for too many stairs for people with disabilities. But the one thing you need to change is it is not right on the beach, it is on the bay and there is quite a long way to get to the actual beach. Should be advertised as on the bay with beach access.

The view was outstanding. The room was in very good condition. It was convenient to restaurants, shops, etc. The elevator was extremely slow. Because there was no air conditioner - we had to open the sliding door - which at night resulted in a lot of smoke from the campfires on the beach - which strangely enough seemed to drift into the condo. Also, the neighborhood didn't feel particularly safe (to the kids) because of the men who slept in the grass area between the promenade and the sand, and other young men who hung out in the area who approached my 14 year old daughter.

We loved the U Street Pub, in spite of its off-putting signs, and the little breakfast and coffee place, also on U Street, a block or two further down. Excellent food and friendly service.
