We drove up to Astoria thinking the drive was going to feel like 30 minutes of more coastal town, but it ended up being a more enjoyable drive. Astoria is ABSOLUTELY incredible. We recommend the Astoria Column. Stop in at the gift shop and purchase a glider for a dollar and go to the top of the column to fly it! Seaside is also a very cute and accommodating community. We didn't explore Seaside as much as we had planned, but we intend to return!

It's right between Seaside and Astoria. Both are within a quick drive. We had a great dinner at Roofer's in Warrenton proper.

We loved this spot. It had easy access to a beach that you can drive your vehicle on and was centrally located to Astoria, Lewis and Clark National park, Ft. Stevens park and many other attractions. The house was clean, comfortable and easy to enjoy.

We enjoyed exploring Cannon Beach, Ecola State Park, Seaside, Sunset Beach, and dining in Astoria. Although this was a nice location, if I were coming to this area again, I would probably look for housing further south to have easier access to those state parks and cute coastal towns.

The house is only a few short minutes from the beach. A bit of a drive to "town", but just what we were looking for!

There is a trail to the beach when you walk out the front go right and just before you get to the next property there is a trail off to the left. Warning in very rainy weather the trail is flooded so then you need to go the other way and get to the beach via the road.

The area was quite secluded. There were local deer that we saw each day of our stay. Proximity to the beach was great. A short walk or drive. It was a very nice sandy beach and not crowded.

Astoria Column was closed by the view still spectacular. Columbia River Maritime Museum was enjoyed by all. Seaside was fun - the beach, the shops and restaurants but the Aquarium was a disappointment. The Goonies House, Jail and Flavel House was worth the stops. Enjoyed the Wreck of the Peter Airedale and hike in Fort Stevens State Park (museum and gun batteries). The hike in Ecola State Park to Indian Beach was awesome. The Astoria Farmers Market was a great way to spend Sunday morning. And finally, taking a trip into Long Beach, WA, across the Astoria-Megler Bridge was a fun 1/2 day trip.

We were spending time at Fort Stevens. It would have been nice to be closer to it, but we needed a place of the size of this home.

We were very thankful for the laundry room, it kept us in dry, clean clothes. So even if the weather was questionable we knew that we could keep the kids in clean, dry clothes.
