After many years of visiting the area "The Barlow Trail Roadhouse " and the" Zig Zag Inn" are the best two restaurants in the area along with the Dragon Fly in my opinion. Tried The Rendezvous many times and have concluded over hyped, over priced, and just not very GOOD in total, regardless what the Chamber of Commerce says..

Love the Dragon Fly restaurant at the Mt. Hood RV Park - it really is one of the best restaurants, surprised it wasn't on the list of recommendations. If folks are interested in any of the listed attractions, best to call ahead of time to make sure their still in business -- we called a fitness center in Sandy that hasn't been open for a couple of years - glad we didn't make the drive to find that out.

The area was between a beautiful golf course, seeing the greenery, we plan to walk in the morning, but as soon as golfers came they started shouting to get us out. They were rude
in talking and were arrogant. There should be boards restricting people to not enter during golf time or else wise.

Welches is a quiet little area where, as soon as you get a ways from Hwy26, you're instantly into the forest... but you're still just a stone's throw away from food, gas, groceries/pharmacy.

There are a few dogs that roam around. The big black shaggy dog is very nice. He loves to play fetch, and came and visited us a few times. The black lab is nice too. The creek is very pretty, and the snowboarding at Mt. Hood meadows was awesome. The movie collection is pretty good. My daughter saw a few she hadn't seen yet.

The Skyway Bar & Grill was spectacular; food was so good it almost defies description. We traveled n February, and there wasn't a lot to do BUT ski ... if you a planned to ski, Rent your gear in town & take it to the mountain with you if you can. Our second day we went to go boarding, got to the mountain, purchased lift tickets, and then found out they were out of equipment. Had to get a refund on the equipment, take the shuttle back to where we parked, and had to go home. It was a real let down.

We liked every place we stopped at. Timberline Lodge for lunch, Zig Zag Inn for pizza, Wraptitude is so yummy,El Burro Loco has great tacos, and Mt. Hood Brewing Co had good food as well. Skip the firewood at Thriftway (it was outside, damp and covered in some sort of mold/fungus) and go just down the road to Mt Hood Foods, the wood is kept inside. While we didn't access the Spa during this stay, we have in the past and it is quite nice.

We used this house to get to Mount Hood Meadows and some fun sledding areas. However, do not bother doing this during New Year's week. We spent 2 to 3 hours (20 miles) in horrible traffic returning to the home with very RUDE drivers all three days. We thought it was convenient to visit the snow but it was NOT. The snow on location was limited. First day we got a little sledding on a nearby hill and some snowball fights but it was melting fast and not usable for snow fun the next few days.

We hiked the Paradise Park Trail #778, which is 6.7 miles one way. It's a beautiful hike, mostly within the forest canopy, although there are short sections walking through flowering mountain meadows near the top. It's uphill, but a gradual climb spaced out with flat sections. The payoff is a stunning view of Mt. Hood at the top.

Zigzag Falls, Trout Fishing although VERY expensive!!! Wouldn't recommend if on a budget, but fun. Charlies at Government Camp has amazing food and VERY reasonable. Trying the Alpine Slides (although I've done many times), it's great to introduce to newcomers. The store (Thriftway) is convenient and close if you need to grab something. And of course, Timberline Lodge it beautiful, after owning a condominium in Government Camp for years, it's changed with all of the modern stores below. Still beautiful.
