Lake Union

Named Tenass Chuck ("little water") by the Chinook people, Lake Union is the smaller cousin of the more sizeable Lake Washington (Hyas Chuck, or "big water") to the east. However, this "small" body of water should not be underestimated. Lake Union boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, and watercraft rentals along the lakefront, sure to keep travelers entertained for the duration of their stay! Take a stroll to Lake Union Park and take in views of the water and the buildings downtown. The MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry) is right in the park and is always worth a visit. On a sunny day, rent a kayak or a canoe and explore the lake – bring sunscreen, a hat, plenty of water, and of course your waterproof camera!

Fine Dining in South Lake Union

Right on the lake, you're guaranteed to find some of the best restaurants in Seattle. On the Fourth of July, eat at Chandler's Crabhouse and gather on the dock outside to watch the fireworks over the lake. If seafood isn't really your thing, Daniel’s Broiler boasts some of the best steaks in the country with amazing happy hour prices to boot. When its Lake Union location gets busy, take a trip over the 520 Bridge! The Bellevue location is up on the 21st floor of the Bank of America building, and features live entertainment every Tuesday through Saturday night from locally acclaimed piano man Jim Washburn.

For a different kind of live entertainment, make reservations at Teatro ZinZanni in the Seattle Center for dinner, drinks, and a live comedy cabaret experience - perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette parties, and other special occasions.
