Get away from the city for some rest, relaxation, and small town charm in our Okanogan vacation rentals. Load up the car with fishing and hunting gear in the summer and warm clothes in the winter for snowmobiling adventures with the Butte Busters Snowmobile Club - any time of year is the right time to visit!
Just east of the Cascade Mountains and about an hour north of Lake Chelan, Okanogan is right in the heart of North Central Washington. This outdoor paradise is an easy drive from Seattle (220 miles) and Spokane (144 miles).
You’ll find plenty to do in Okanogan, from hunting on the extensive public lands to fishing in one of two reservoir lakes. If hunting and fishing aren't really your thing, Okanogan is the perfect place to simply relax and enjoy the bountiful wilderness. Visit in December and take part in the holiday lighting ceremony in Conconully (complete with the chance to see Santa riding in his trusty snowmobile), or watch the annual Snow Dog Super Mush races in January. In the sunny summer months, enjoy the annual Independence Day celebration with a parade, hot dog eating contest, car show, duck races, fire fighter water competition, and more!
Yes, it’s what you think it is! Join the fun at the Conconully Outhouse Races, where teams race down Main Street in actual outhouses built on skis for the chance to win fabulous prizes. Outhouses must be constructed out of wood, mounted on skis, and include both a toilet seat and toilet paper. Teams consist of three people - two pushers and one rider. This event happens in the middle of January, so make sure to bundle up and keep warm!
In the mood for a great daytrip near your Okanogan vacation rental? The Grand Coulee Dam (50 miles away) on the Columbia River serves as the largest electric power-producing facility in the United States. Wander around the visitor center and look at plenty of photos and models, and after you’re done, take a tour around the power plant. Visit on a summer evening to view the spectacular laser light show on the dam.
If your visit falls during Oktoberfest, it's worth the 100 mile drive southwest to the Bavarian village of Leavenworth. Or, take a trip to The Great White North! From your spot in Okanogan, you’ll be just 50 miles from the Canadian border crossing at Osoyoos. Don’t forget a passport and a sense of adventure!
Whether you’re in the mood for a Canadian adventure or you want to stop by one of the fantastic year-round festivals in Conconully, you’ll love staying in our superb vacation rentals in Okanogan.
