Recent Pacific City vacation rental reviews

This home was nice and big and had an amazing view. There were a couple things that weren't so great. One of the smoke detectors was missing a battery and the battery door was left open. There are nails sticking up out of the carpet where the wood transitions to the living room carpet. The home was not cleaned very well, towels were left in the dryer, random toy pieces were under the couches, some stains on the carpets upstairs. There was a cigarette butt in a cup holder of a lounge chair outside, a dirty q-tip was left on the window sill in the living room. The utensils in the kitchen are the cheapest smallest versions you can buy and were falling apart. The refrigerator needs to be repaired. The ice lever doesn’t work and the water dispenser doesn’t even have the lever because it’s been broken off and you have to reach your hand in and try to push on the tiny piece that’s left. Overall our stay was nice, but was a little expensive for how dirty the house was and for all of the little inconveniences.

We loved our stay in this spacious home in Pacific City. It was very close to a couple of different beach access points and was clean and well-equipped.

Size just right for 4 people and a dog. Very private. Clean and comfortable. Wood burning stove made the space nice and warm. Back patio and BBQ worked out great. Deer cruise through the trees out back. Great sand area for the dog to burrow too. Walking to beach is very close. Lots of eating choices too. Pelican Brewery and Grateful Bread were the stand outs.

With a location that sits along the Three Capes Scenic Drive, many who drive through town don't want to leave. Although Pacific City's Haystack Rock is somewhat less famous than its same-named (and shorter) counterpart in Cannon Beach, the impressive sea stack is still the biggest landmark in town. Coming in a close second is the Pelican Pub & Brewery, an award-winning microbrewery with jaw-dropping views of the ocean.

Another popular Pacific City attraction is, of course, the beach... particularly since there are a number of sections where driving automobiles is allowed! While Pacific City is a great spot for all the usual day-at-the-beach activities (sand castle building, kite flying, beach combing, surfing, and kayaking), it also offers a few unusual options for recreation. Guests at a Pacific City vacation rental can while away their days horseback riding along the beach, seal watching at the mouth of the Nestucca River, climbing the sand dunes at Cape Kiwanda, and even hang gliding over the shoreline. When the conditions are right, crowds gather in the evenings to watch the dory fleet head home after a long day of fishing. These distinctive flat-bottomed boats don't dock at a pier with their haul of rockfish, tuna, and Dungeness crab; rather, the dorymen drive their boats right up onto the sand where their trailers are waiting. If you don't feel like making a meal back at your beach house's full kitchen, Pacific City has a few other dining & drinking establishments well worth a visit.

What's around your Pacific City vacation rental?

Pacific City sits just two hours from Portland, less than an hour and a half from Salem, and just under five hours from Seattle. While there's plenty to keep vacationers busy in the immediate vicinity, a Pacific City vacation rental makes a great home base to explore the rest of the Oregon Coast. To the north, popular Seaside and Cannon Beach are less than two hours away; Tillamook and its bigger-city amenities can be reached in under forty-five minutes. Heading south, bustling Lincoln City with its shopping and nightlife is just forty minutes away. In just over an hour, the Oregon Coast Aquarium waits in Newport. Pacific City offers the rare combination of being close to all the best attractions of the Oregon Coast but secluded enough to feel like a true getaway.
