About Cali

Santiago de Cali (or Cali for short) is not only the capital city of the Valle del Cauca Department, it is also the most populous city in Southwest Colombia. That means superb restaurants, year-round events and festivals, spectator sports, historic sites, and one of the fastest growing economies in all of South America. See what awaits you in one of our Cali vacation rentals.

Where is Cali, Columbia?

Cali is located in the southern region of Valle del Cauca, between the Western Cordillera and the Central Andes, right along the eastern edge of the Farallones de Cali National Park. Framed by mountains, expansive plains, and winding rivers, Cali sits in the midst of a wide variety of unique environments that are sure to satisfy the most adventurous eco-tourists. Access to the city is possible via the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airport, conveniently located just 16 miles northeast of the city (and only nine miles from downtown Palmira).

Things to Do in Cali. Colombia

Whether you're visiting Cali to explore the surrounding natural environments, party in the streets from sundown to sunup, or explore the city's many cultural and historical sites, a stay in one of our vacation homes puts you right in the heart of the excitement!

Before you make any arrangements for rugged adventures in the lush national parks, deserts, and surrounding mountain ranges, be sure to carve out a little time to climb el Cerro de las Tres Cruces (the Hill of the Three Crosses) in the northwestern part of the city. At the top, you'll enjoy spectacular views and can even work up a sweat in the outdoor gym.

If you're looking to sample some local nightlife, Cali is considered by many to be the street party capital of the country. From January to December, Cali comes alive with live entertainment and delicious food. Caleños also celebrate a number of festivals throughout the year including the Petronio Alvarez Festival in August, and the week-long Feria de Cali held between Christmas and New Years.

Cali is also the place to be for sports fans. Here, you'll find two football stadiums, multiple sports fields, parks, and arenas. Cali, like much of Colombia, has embraced baseball, basketball, boxing, rugby, and its own national sport known as Tejo, which combines beer, targets, and explosives! It must be seen to be believed!

No matter what time of the year you choose to stay in one of our Cali vacation homes, you're sure to have a terrific time.
