About Samana Province

It's time for a tropical getaway! Samana Province in the Dominican Republic has some of the most beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and caves to be found in the Caribbean. There's no better way to enjoy an unforgettable time in Samana than in one of our charming vacation rentals.

Where is Samana Province?

The province of Samana is located in the northwest of the Dominican Republic on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It's well-known for its majestic mountains and sandy beaches, with gorgeous landscapes for hikes, drives, and other outdoor adventures.

In the south of the province is the Los Haitises National Park, with its unique flora and fauna. Filled with fig and almond trees, as well as caves formed by natural erosion, it's worth taking a tour and seeing the gorgeous natural vistas.

If you want to see more of the country, consider a visit to the nearby province of La Romana, less than 145 miles south. With plenty of resort towns and artists' workshops, you'll have plenty to do and see. You may even find the perfect painting to tie a room together back home.

The City of Samana

The city of Samana, in full known as Santa Barbara de Samana, is the capital of the province. Built on a small plain and expanded into the surrounding hills, it's a popular tourist destination year-round. Go zip lining in the forest canopies or take a wildlife tour and glimpse elegant waterfalls. Spend an afternoon sunbathing on one of the beautiful beaches or wake up early to go snorkeling.

This coastal city is the Caribbean's whale-watching center, with plenty of different tours to view the gentle giants of the sea. See humpback whales up close, and maybe you'll spot dolphins while you're at it! End your days with a dinner of delicious Caribbean cuisine before heading back to the private sanctuary of your comfortable vacation rental.

Things To Do in Samana Province

On the other side of the peninsula from Samana, Las Terrenas Town has great beaches and shopping. Boasting French and Italian influence, vibrant markets, public areas, and excellent seafood are everywhere. Buy a new swimsuit and head to the beach, where you'll find soft white sand and clear blue water.

While you're here, try some new things! This is your time to kite surf, snorkel, scuba dive, or take a scenic ride through the landscape on horseback. Watch for dolphins and whales, take pictures by rushing waterfalls, and take an off-road tour in an ATV!

For an experience of a lifetime, book one of our Samana vacation rentals and forget the world while you revel in paradise.
