If you’re dreaming of an Italian beach escape, look no further than Bari. This bright, historic town could be the destination of your dreams, and we’ve got a vacation rental to suit every Bari getaway.
Bari occupies a port area on the Adriatic Sea, near the back of the “heel” of Italy’s “boot.” Its old town extends out into the sea between two harbors. The town is almost straight across the country from Naples, about 170 miles away on Italy’s other coast.
Barivecchia, the historic district, is an area best explored on foot. Stroll your way down its narrow streets, catching glimpses of the water. Don’t forget to stop for gelato along the way. The local beach, Pane e Pomodoro, sits in an enclave just to the east of Old Town, so bring a swimsuit along. Religious travelers have long made the pilgrimage to Basilica San Nicola, where St. Nicolas’ bones are housed, and its architecture and historic significance make it worth a visit.
No trip to the Italian coast is complete without a visit to Bari. Check out our Bari vacation rentals and start planning the seaside getaway of your dreams!
