About Playa Redonda
While many make the trip south to the tropical coasts of Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua for the world-class surfing conditions (with phenomenal, year-round breaks and swells), others have discovered that there are other places where the protected waters are crystal clear, calm, and refreshingly cool and the sands are soft, warm, and white.

For this element, Redonda Beach (known locally as Playa Redonda) is just what the doctor ordered for those looking to spend their days sunbathing and swimming in paradise. Now you can enjoy it to the fullest with a stay in one of our Playa Redonda vacation rentals!

Where is Playa Redonda

Located right on Nicaragua's Emerald Coast, Playa Redonda is just 85 miles south of Managua, home of the Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport, 19 miles west of the city of Rivas, with peaceful Tola along the way, less than a mile south of Playa Gigante and just a couple miles north of Playa Manzanillo.

Things to Do at Playa Redonda

Playa Redonda is a pristine, protected cove with still blue waters that are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, sea kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing. Pack a lunch and bring a book (or two) to relax, carefree, with the sounds of light breezes playing through the trees overhead and the waves gently lapping on the shore.

If you're looking to sample some local cuisine, ONDA offers beachfront seating in a casual environment. Of course, you can always enjoy a nice cold microbrew on draught with your feet in the sand at the Aqua Resort - there's nothing better after a long day! Be sure to come by for dinner on Thursday nights for a wood-fired pizza made to your liking.

For more options, Pili's Kitchen is located right on Playa Gigante just to the north, offering phenomenal, organic food on the beach. If you're craving pizza on any other night of the week, stop by El Pozo Pizza Bar Y Restaurante.

Adventures Near Playa Redonda

If the lure of the waves tempts you to give surfing a try, walk up the beach to Playa Amarillo a little over two miles north, or hop in a car and drive to Playa Colorado eight miles away. Both beaches are excellent, offering local surf shops and schools offering classes for all skill levels.

Those looking to do a little hiking will find trails that run up and down the coast while climbers can brave the sandstone cliffs between Playa Redonda and Playa Gigante. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the amazing panoramic shot of the view you worked hard to earn!

If you've been looking for an escape to a tropical, seaside paradise, our vacation rentals in Playa Redonda will definitely fit the bill.
