About Los Valles

Fertile land, delicious produce, and towering wind farms are just some of the features that make this unique village stand out as one the best destinations in Spain’s Canary Islands. Known to locals as Los Valles de Santa Catalina for its inhabitants who resettled here after the eruptions of Timanfaya, this is the best place to learn about rural life on the island.

When you desire relaxation and a return to a simpler life, our vacation rentals in Los Valles are just the thing!

Where is Los Valles?

Nestled in a beautiful valley of the same name on the volcanic isle of Lanzarote, the colorful fields and meadows of Los Valles look like an artist’s creation. Less than five miles east of Teguise and about a 10-mile drive from Lanzarote’s stunning coastline and black sand beaches, Los Valles offers the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience to please any traveler.

Things to Do Near Los Valles

The first thing any visitor should have on their agenda is paying a visit to the castle of Santa Barbara, where a stunning view of the entire valley unfolds before your eyes. Follow up with a visit to the Hermitage of San Rafael and the Church of our Lady of Guadalupe to get a feel for the religious history and culture of the village.

Rock climbers will be pleased to find an excellent array of routes on the volcanic rock at Tenegüime just east of the village. If you’re wishing to see the island from a different perspective, sign up for some paragliding and feel the wind rush in your face.

Hot days are best spent on the beach in neighboring Famara, doing activities such as windsurfing, kiteboarding, waterskiing, sailing, fishing, and diving. Of course, the beaches are also excellent for swimming, sunbathing, and walking along its long stretch of sand - whatever it takes to get a great night’s sleep in your Los Valles vacation rental.

Day Trips from Los Valles

With nearly 2,000 acres of untouched nature in the surrounding area, Los Valles is an adventurers dream! Go hiking and mountain biking in Timanfaya National Park about 20 miles to the west, or sign up for a guided tour to learn about the volcanic beginnings of this beautiful island.

Nearby villages also offer much to the curious traveler - Costa Teguise is an incredible destination, drawing the likes of the Spanish Royal Family for regular vacations. Get a taste of Lanzarote in local restaurants, relax on small beaches, and catch the windsurfing world championship.

Photographers will want to pay a visit to the small village of Haría to the north, where palm trees compliment the vibrant flowers that blossom and paint the valley in the rainy season. You’ll want to take your camera anytime you leave your vacation rental in Los Valles, though - the scenery everywhere is amazing.

Forget your worries and step into one of our vacation rentals in Los Valles to appreciate a simpler life - it will do you a world of good!
