Really couldn't have asked for anything more. There were some 'gotcha's with the house that weren't documented like needing to turn the hot water heater on that we were not aware of but other than these minor miscommunications this location is everything that we wanted. We traveled 2.25 hours to this property from our home in Southern NH. We wanted this trip to be somewhat close given this was our first get-away with our 6 month old daughter. Yes, the property is small but for my wife and I, our 6 year old daughter, our 6 month old and our (2) older small dogs we had amazing weather and spent just about every minute of everyday outside on the porch or in the water or in the canoe. At night when we didn't have a fire in the firepit we sat on the couch, put in a movie from the vast DVD / VHS collection and enjoyed our views of the water through the slider from the couch. Stock up on water before you come since the tap water comes from the lake. All in all, we would rent this property again without hesitation.

We lived across the lake from this camp for 10 years and consequently know the lake and area quite well. My wife thought the little cabin was cute and she loved being able to walk outside and jump in the lake for a swim. We brought our pontoon boat over from our old neighborhood without any problem, though the water was fairly shallow. We also enjoyed using the canoe that was provided.

You can't drink the water - it comes straight from the lake with no filtering. There's no wifi, if that matters, and we couldn't get the TV to work, not that we went on vacation to watch TV. The cabin was clean, there were two chairs at a small kitchen table, the bedroom is small and tight, and the bunk beds are ok for small children and in a tight area as well. There's a long drive on a dirt road to get in and out of the lake community.

Poland is a small town with one 3-star restaurant (Cindy's), one breakfast place (Eggceptional), and one place to get frozen custard. Stop in Gray to buy groceries if coming up 95.

Knowing all of this ahead of time would have been helpful, as we'd have brought water and been more mentally prepared. We didn't expect our old house, but we didn't expect something THIS small and rustic.
